Opis:
Boris Pasternak debuted at the onset of the 20th century, when Russian art witnessed radical transformations consisting in a departure from tradition and a quest for new content and forms of artistic expression. His family, however, disapproved of modernist aesthetics. The young poet thus found himself at an aesthetic crossroads and evaded making a decisive choice. On the one hand, he referred to nineteenth-century poetry, and on the other hand, he took an active part in the current literary life and maintained contacts with the Symbolists. He joined the moderate Futurist group ‘Tsentrifuga,’ which, however, did not exert a fundamental impact upon his oeuvre. Pasternak voiced opinions regarding various aesthetic problems and in the 1920s started to free himself from the influence of the then dominating literary milieus. He severed contacts with Futurism (including Mayakovsky), chose a path of his own, and rewrote a number of his early poems. At the beginning of the 1930s he announced his ‘second birth’. This involved evoking the traditions of nineteenth-century art and in particular, realism. Pasternak emphasized the priority of content over form and the merit of simplicity of poetic statements, the principle to which he remained loyal to the very end of his creative path.

Although many information system ontologies (ISOs) claim to be parsimonious, the notion of parsimony seems to influence the debate on ISOs only at the level of vague and uncritical assumption. To challenge this trend, the paper aims to clarify what it means for ISOs to be parsimonious. Specifically, section 2 shows that parsimony in computer science generally concerns software design and, together with elegance, is one of the two aspects of the broader notion of simplicity. Section 3 transforms the main claims of parsimony in software design into claims about the content of ISOs, the combination of which is hereafter called “parsimony of content”—where “content” refers only to the content of ISOs. Sections 4-7 discuss the application of this parsimony to the design of ISOs, and outline different kinds (and combinations) of parsimony of content. Finally, section 8 considers whether parsimony of content could provide some criteria both for selecting and/or classifying the contents of ISOs and for choosing between different and equally consistent ISOs.

An article presents environmental issues of spirituality in their relationship to God, man and the environment on the basis of the encyclical of Pope Francis Laudato Si'. The Pope took up the current and complicated issue, analysis of which is exposed to various forms of reductionism or ideologies. His view of ecological spirituality is based on the foundation of God the Creator, who gave the world the natural order and also created and shaped the hierarchy of beings. This premise protects against reductionist looking at the man and at the same time—before usurp his absolute power. On this foundation, the Holy Father could develop postulate of the contemplative perception of the world in which he discovers the creatures as objects to use, but above all he sees in them a gift and value given to the man. Such a deep vision can rediscover anew God as Creator and Father for the love of establishing the human world into existence. Thanks to the origin of coming from one Father, Christian sees in others, especially in the weakest and defenceless a brother with whom he has ties of solidarity and love. Finally, the world is seen not as a place of exploitation and prey, but as a mystery that leads to God and God is the full explanation of it. The deeper the mind enlightened by faith contemplates the world, the more he sees beauty and infinity of God. And at the same time more closely connects with God, the more the world reveals to him its beauty and close relationship with the Creator.

W artykule podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie struktury powinny być kształtowane zgodnie z zasadą prostoty? W wyniku przeprowadzonej analizy stwierdzono, że strukturami spełniającymi wymogi prostoty są klasyczne struktury (funkcjonalna i dywizjonalna), a oznaką nowoczesnego podejścia w organizowaniu działań jest „ nakładanie” na nie różnych rodzajów pracy zespołowej, z ograniczeniem do minimum form macierzowego zarządzania.
The aim of the article is to attempt to answer the question: what organizational structures should be shaped in accordance with the principle of simplicity? The analysis determined that the structural solutions that meet the requirements of simplicity are primarily classical solutions: functional and divisional. The sign of a modern approach to organizing is "imposing" on them various forms of teamwork with the reduction to the minimum of the matrix management forms.

The goal of theory construction is explanation: for language, theory for particular languages (grammar) and for the faculty of language FoL (the innate endowment for language acquisition). A primitive notion of simplicity of grammars is number of symbols, but this is too crude. An improved measure distinguishes grammars that capture genuine properties of language from those that do not. The theory of FoL must meet the empirical conditions of learnability (under extreme poverty of stimulus), and evolvability (given the limited but not insignificant evidence available). Recent work provides promising insights into how these twin conditions may be satisfied.

Koncepcja voluntary simplicity (VS, dobrowolna prostota) pojawiła się w krajach rozwiniętych gospodarczo jako zrównoważona alternatywa dla konsumpcyjnego stylu życia. Ze względu na to, że VS przejawia się w formie wielu różnych zachowań dekonsumpcyjnych, również grupa wykazujących te zachowania konsumentów (voluntary simplifiers, VSS) nie jest jednorodna. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest wyczerpujące scharakteryzowanie VS, a w szczególności przedstawienie genezy i ewolucji tej koncepcji oraz jej zdefiniowanie. Ponadto zawarte w tekście rozważania mają na celu scharakteryzowanie upraszczających swoje życie konsumentów. Ze względu na teoretyczny charakter opracowania wykorzystano w nim wyłącznie wtórne źródła informacji.
The concept of voluntary simplicity (VS) has emerged in the most developed countries as a sustainable alternative to overconsumption and materialistic lifestyle. As that VS manifests itself in many different deconsumption behaviors, the group of consumers who voluntarily simplify their life (voluntary simplifiers, VSS) is not homogeneous. The goal of this paper is to introduce an exhaustive characteristics of VS. In particular there are discussed the origins and evolution of VS as well as the definitions of this concept. Additionally different types of voluntary simplifiers are characterized in the text. Because of theoretical nature of this paper only secondary sources of information are used to achieve abovementioned objectives.

Główna część pracy dotyczy konkretnie tendencji minimalistycznych we współczesnej architekturze domów jednorodzinnych. Tam idee i cechy charakterystyczne pogrupowano w rozdziały stosowne do przyjętych pojęć: prostota, pustka, porządek i introwersja. Pojęcia te otrzymały podstawę teoretyczną (zawartą w poprzedzających rozdziały słowach wstępnych) oraz zostały skonkretyzowane, uszczegółowione i opatrzone odpowiednimi przykładami i ilustracjami. Poniższa część pracy prezentuje dwie pierwsze grupy - prostota i pustka.
The main part of the work concerns minimalistic tendencies in contemporary architecture of one-family house in detail. Ideas and characteristic features have been grouped in chapters appropriate to established notions: simplicity, emptiness, order and introversion. These notions have received theoretical background (included in chapters' proceeding prefaces) and have been concretized, particularized and provided with appropriate examples and illustrations. The following part of the work presents two first mentioned groups - simplicity and emptiness.
