Opis:: This paper introduces an improved method for TDOA estimation. The time-difference measurement is performed by taking an advantage of the properties of linear frequency modulation signals. According to the performed simulations and experiment results, the proposed TDOA estimation scheme shows good accuracy and thus has the potential to be used in precise indoor location applications.

Opis:: Wyładowania niezupełne (wnz) są źródłami impulsowych zaburzeń elektromagnetycznych o bardzo szerokim widmie. Dzięki temu dla ich wykrywania i lokalizowania mogą być stosowane metody antenowe, wykorzystujące różne techniki pomiarowe. W szczególności dotyczy to lokalizowania wyładowań powstających w liniach napowietrznych i urządzeniach stacji elektroenergetycznych wysokich i najwyższych napięć. W artykule przedstawiono podstawy i rozważania teoretyczne dotyczące zastosowania w tym celu szyków (macierzy) antenowych o różnych konfiguracjach oraz wybrane wyniki badań laboratoryjnych. Przedstawione zostały m.in. analizy zastosowania metody TDOA (Time Difference Of Arrival), pozwalającej na określenie położenia źródeł wyładowań niezupełnych w oparciu o pomiar różnic czasów detekcji przebiegów impulsowych rejestrowanych przez poszczególne anteny wchodzące w skład szyku antenowego.
Partial discharges (PD) are sources of very short impulsive electromagnetic disturbances with extra wide spectrum. As a result, aerial methods using various measuring techniques can be used to detect and locate them. In particular, this refers to locating partial discharges occurring at overhead transmission lines and power station equipment of high and very high voltages. The paper, which presents the continuation of the work of authors in this field, describes theoretical foundations and theoretical considerations as well as the results of laboratory investigations of the use of antenna arrays of various configurations for PDs source location. The analysis of the application of the TDOA method (Time Difference of Arrival) to determine the position of the discharge sources is based on the measurement of the time differences of pulse waveforms received by the individual antennas – members of particular antenna array.

Opis:: Systems supporting traffic safety require precise information on a vehicle position. The paper contains a proposal for a vehicle localization system based on ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. The system allows for vehicle positioning with submeter accuracy. The paper presents a system concept and an algorithm used for position calculation. The algorithm consists in selection of a system configuration in order to decrease the positioning uncertainty. The system concept was verified with a developed system demonstrator. The paper contains a description of the devices comprising the system. Exemplary results of outdoor demonstrator tests are included and discussed. The tests confirmed efficiency and attractiveness of the proposed solution.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono skrócony opis techniczny urządzenia N6841A (RF Sensor) dostępnego w komercyjnej ofercie firmy Agilent Technologies. Przytoczono opis parametryczny urządzenia, wybrano warianty jego wykorzystania przy pracy w trybie autonomicznym i sieciowym. Ponadto opisano sposób realizacji i przytoczono wyniki testów przeprowadzonych na RF Sensorach, których celem była weryfikacja katalogowych danych technicznych urządzenia. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań RF Sensorów zostały wykonane na terenie Wojskowej Akademii Technicznej.
The initial phase of a research on the active emitters location system is presented in the paper. Experiments were performed using dispersed system of specialized receivers. The receivers were located around the controlled area. Receivers were separated in a distance but connected by the communication network. The receivers used during the research are N6841 RF Sensors manufactured by Agilent Technologies Inc. N6841 receiver is described at the beginning of the paper. Main objective of the research is to study and examine the properties of the receivers in case of using as a separate and as a networking mode receivers. Several definition of receiver sensitivity were used to make measurement. Sensitivity of the independent receiver was compared to sensitivity of networked receivers. A correlation algorithm of signals detection was used to calculate TDoA (Time Difference of Arrival). TDoA measurements will be used in emitters localization procedures.

Opis:: Nodes' aware-mobility in the Internet of Things (IoTs) stills open defy for researchers, due to the dynamic changing of routing path and networks’ resource limitations. Therefore, in this study a new method is proposed called Mobility Aware - “Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy Networks” (MARPL), that consists of two phases: in the first phase splitting the entire network into sub areas based on reference nodes with “Time Difference of Arrival” (TDoA) technique. While, the second phase, is about managing mobile nodes (MNs) in RPL according to the sub areas' ID. The Cooja simulator software has been used to implement and assess MA-RPL method performance, according to the data packet metrics (lost packet, packet delivery ratio PDR), latency and nodes' power usage in comparison with two methods: Corona (Co-RPL) and Mobility Enhanced (ME-RPL). The simulation results have been shown that the MA-RPL method consumes less nodes' energy usage, gives less latency with minimum data packet loss in comparison with Co-RPL and MERPL.
