Opis:
The study examines the shape of business research supervision in institutions of higher learning. The study was based on the sensitivity that the quality of business research supervision in Ghanaian Technical Universities is abating as less attention seem to be paid to such academic exercise by these institutions. The study was guided by the interpretive theory of social constructivism. Document analysis, archival contents and interview techniques were used to explore the perceptions of 45 participants and 120 archival contents (supervised and approved bounded project reports) on the state of business research supervision. Four set of issues including; (a) definition of research supervision, (b) existence of institution-wide research supervision policy and procedures, (c) availability of resource for research supervision exercise and (d) the extent of influence of quality assurance directorates on research supervision steered the study. Respondents had a more traditional and limited definition and understanding of research supervision. There was absence of institution-wide policies to govern project work undertaking and supervision. Although departments admitted having personalised research supervision policies, they were not overtly communicated to both students and supervisors. Project supervision exercise was also inadequately resourced: a demotivation for supervisors. Quality assurance policies did not cover project work supervision. Per the framework used in the study, the problems identified above accounted for poor quality supervision and had a rippled negative implication on research outcomes. Among others, the study recommended the development of institution-wide policies that clearly defines and communicates responsibilities of supervisors and students as well as supervision expectations. Supervision exercise should be well-resourced (financial, material, human, information and processes), this will help motivate supervisors and students to tackle the exercise with utmost seriousness. Quality assurance policies must be broadened to include all aspects - pre and post project work supervision phases. This is the only way ethical standards and integrity can be built into the supervision process. If the above recommendations are put into perspective, it is believed that quality supervision can be assured and consequently research outcomes will be improved.

This article describes the history of women in the engineering world, the changing social and economic conditions and women’s rising educational aspirations (it appears that they are interested in the traditional scientific disciplines but they also increasingly with to try typically male – form the point of view of traditional socialization – educational and then professional careers). The problem of adaptation of educational space of technical university to modern market requirements is considered. There are described the results of studying the requests of higher education applicants and their vision of the success of the study. The aim of the article is to build an architecture of an information system similar to that used by modern enterprises, which will provide a combination of scientific, design and educational activities of the academic community, taking into account market needs. The main scientific research methods are bibliographic analysis, comparative analysis, methods of analogies. The conceptual architecture of the Information Support of Design Innovation Activity of the Technical University system based on the construction of a unified scientific and educational information space is described. The main task of the university's information space is to prepare students for activities of the real market. There are determined the necessity and limits of application of the modern access control system at the universities of Ukraine, in particular for the organization of independent work of students. There is offered the way to reach the 4th level of technological readiness of students 'and teachers' development. The construction of an ontological description of the subject area of a technical university, the development of the application of a grid model for the description of scientific and technical information, and the determination of the current technical status are defined as the basis of the system of setting tasks for project groups in the transition to project-oriented learning. The question of the appropriateness of using adaptive case management system as a basic concept of building electronic document management system is resolved. RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of article is to analyse the professional situation of technical university graduates in Poland, focusing on the gender as the key impact factor. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research problem was to examine the influence of gender on the employee’s professional situation among technical university graduates in Poland. Empirical data was gained as a result of six annual quantitative research projects, conducted in the years 2012‑2017 on a total sample of almost 8000 respondents.THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Firstly, the method of empirical research and hypotheses were described.Secondly, the relation of gender and the situation in the Polish labor market was presented and then the situation of technical university graduates within the contemporary labor market were outlined. Finally, there was a presentation of research results and summary with recommendations.RESEARCH RESULTS: The results confirm the influence of gender on the employee’s professional situation, which is worse for women, also in the case of technical university graduates. Women fared worse than men i.a. in terms of the percentage of working individuals, the length of the period of searching for employment upon graduation and they were paid less than men. Nevertheless, it should be emphasized that the situation of both the women and the men surveyed can be described as favourable. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: It can be hoped that the differences will be reduced. The changes should focus primarily on two key areas: the amount of remuneration received and the nature of the workplace.

This article aims to present our own research, diagnosing the level of psychosocial competencies of academic teachers at technical university – the competencies which are particularly important in the mediatised world. The research was done among 141 academic teachers of the Silesian University of Technology with the use of a diagnostic survey in 2019–2021. An expanded statistical analysis allowed the interpretation and assessment of 13 variables describing the investigated competencies.

Tadeusz Posament was born in 1905 in Lvov. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and graduated from the General Faculty of the Lvov Polytechnic in 1931 with a master's degree in mathematics. Mathe-matical supervisor of his diploma work was Kazimierz Kuratowski, who highly appreciated his mathematical skills. Soon, two publications appeared, discussing its scientific results. However, T. Posamenta did not have a place to work at the university. Before the Second World War he worked in high schools in Lvov and in Mława. At the beginning of the Ger-man occupation, like many teachers, he was arrested and placed in a concentration camp in Działdowo, late in Gusen. He died tragically in 1941 at the Castle of Hartheim near Linz (Austria).
Tadeusz Posament urodził się w 1905 roku we Lwowie. Po ukończeniu szkoły średniej podjął studia na Wydziale Mechanicznym, a ukończył je na Wydziale Ogólnym Politechniki Lwowskiej w 1931 roku ze stopniem magistra matematyki. Opiekunem naukowym pracy dyplomowej Posamenta był Kazimierz Kuratowski, który wysoko ocenił jego zdolności matematyczne. Wkrótce po tym ukazały się dwie publikacje, omawiające jego wyniki naukowe. Jednak dla T. Posamenta zabrakło miejsca pracy na uczelni. Do wybuchu II wojny światowej pracował w szkołach średnich we Lwowie i w Mławie. Na początku okupacji niemieckiej podobnie jak wielu nauczycieli, został aresztowany i osadzony w obozie koncentracyjnym w Działdowie, a następnie w Gusen. Zginął tragicznie w 1941 roku na Zamku Hartheim koło Linzu (Austria).

Mieczysław Aleksander Czyżykowski urodził się 26 lutego 1907 roku w Warszawie. W czerwcu 1925 roku otrzymał świadectwo dojrzałości i podjął studia matematyczne na Wydziale Filozoficznym Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, które ukończył w 1931 roku, uzyskując magisterium. M. Czyżykowski był autorem podręczników szkolnych i akademickich oraz skryptów dla studentów Politechniki Warszawskiej. Przez ponad czterdzieści lat aktywnie działał w Olimpiadzie Matematycznej. Za wybitne prace organizacyjne w OM nadano mu w 1994 roku tytuł Członka Honorowego PTM. Zmarł w 1996 roku.
The article is discussing the life and academic activity Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mieczysław Czyżykowski (1907–1996), an employee of the Warsaw Technical University, a longtime collaborator of the Main Committee of the Mathematical Olympiads in Poland and the international competitions.

Professional skills, as opposed to interpersonal skills, are types of skills that students learn in university. These skills are easy to quantify. The proficiency in these skills is easy to verify. Soft skills cannot be measured and tested as simply as professional skills. The authors highlight the most in-demand soft skills among employers. The article presents the results of several surveys of employers about the important requirements for jobseekers required for employment. Similar surveys were conducted among employers and employees of IT companies in the Republic of Belarus. It is concluded that soft skills are very important both for getting a first job and building a successful career. However, in the universities of the Republic of Belarus, teaching soft skills is poorly represented. The article shows how the process of teaching students of the second stage of higher education was modernized. Only the IT specialties of five Belarusian universities have undergone modernization. This work was carried out with the support of the international project MaCICT. At the same time, the experience of teaching similar disciplines in the universities of the European Union was used. To assess the effectiveness of students' acquisition of soft skills at the university, a system for assessing the results of the modernization of the learning process was developed. Questionnaires for teachers, students and employees of IT companies have been developed. A survey of all stakeholders in the results of the international project MaCICT was carried out. The paper provides information on the dissemination of the main approaches for organizing the teaching of IT specialties for teachers of another specialties of the Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel, as well as for teaching IT disciplines of another universities in the Gomel region.
