Opis:
One of the concepts decreasing the variability of the production processes is the Total Productive Maintenance. The aim of the article is to examine the impact of the TPM implementation on the reduction of process variation on the example of the production company. In the first part of the paper a short literature review in the context of the variability of processes and the characteristics of the TPM concept has been performed. Also a way of implementation of the concept in the production company has been presented. The second part contains the description of the applied research tools, it also presents research results and shows the final conclusions regarding the impact of TPM on the process variation in the studied company.

Opis:
Storage of zinc wastes is associated with a high risk of environmental pollution. The way to manage the problem is using the waste materials in the transition process, the final product of which is the zinc oxide concentrate. Transition process is technologically complex and every failure to the discipline results in a large number of unscheduled stops. Such an issue was encountered by B. Recycling. An update of environmental regulations has forced a comprehensive modernization of the technology lines used. The implementation of new solutions brought the necessity of examination and evaluation of the effectiveness of the process. In the paper the analysis conducted for this purpose are described. The elements of TPM method were selected as the test method. The OEE, MTBF and MTTR values for the individual process lines and additionally for the most problematic subassemblies were determined basing on the research and collected data.

In the paper, the proposition of application of two methodologies: the predictive scheduling and Total Productive Maintenance – TPM to increase efficiency of a production system is presented. To assess wastes due to unplanned events in the machine’s work the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicator is applied. Any failure of a bottle neck decreases value of the OEE. In this paper, the problem of predicting a time of the bottle neck failure is considered. In the paper, models of a production system and failures are presented. For the bottle neck various reliability characteristics are computed: the probability that, beginning with moment t0 , the first failure occurs after given time t, probability that in the interval [f ,g], there occurs at least one failure, failure intensity function, Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time of Repair (MTTR). Having the MTTF and MTTR of the bottle neck, a robust schedule is generated. At the time of predicted failure, preventive actions and technical survey of the machine are scheduled. In the second paper a numerical example is given.

Lean Management in enterprise management on the example of the Polish company Wentech.

The aim of the work is to present the concept of Lean Management in enterprise management. This goal was achieved by presenting the implementation of the Lean Management concept in the Polish company Wentech in the opinion of its managers and employees. The first chapter describes the Lean Management concept in the literature on the subject. The genesis of Lean Management, its concept and essence are presented. The main features of this concept are discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of Lean Management are indicated.The topic of chapter two is Lean Management in management. The differences between the traditional concept of management and the concept of Lean Management are described. It shows the implementation of this management concept in the organization and indicates the possibilities of measuring its implementation. Examples of projects implemented under Lean Management are presented.The third chapter presents the functioning of Lean Management in the Wentech manufacturing company. The company is characterized. Examples of the implementation of selected Lean Management tools are presented, focusing on the implementation of TPM, 5S practices and Kaizen.The fourth chapter presents the results of research on the level of implementation of the Lean Management concept in the Wentech manufacturing company. The methodology of the conducted research was discussed and the studied group was characterized. The results of research on the implementation of the Lean Management concept were analyzed in the opinion of the management and production employees. Conclusions from the research were presented.
Celem pracy jest zaprezentowanie koncepcji Lean Management w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem. Cel ten zrealizowano przedstawiając realizację koncepcji Lean Management w polskiej firmie Wentech w opinii jej kierowników i pracowników. Praca składa się z 4 rozdziałów. Rozdział pierwszy zawiera charakterystykę koncepcji Lean Management w literaturze przedmiotu. Przedstawiono genezę Lean Management, jego pojęcie i istotę. Omówiono główne cechy tej koncepcji. Wskazano wady i zalety Lean Management. Tematem rozdziału drugiego jest Lean Management w zarządzaniu. Opisano różnice między tradycyjną koncepcją zarządzania a koncepcją Lean Management. Pokazano wdrażanie tej koncepcji zarządzania w organizacji oraz wskazano możliwości pomiaru jego realizacji. Zaprezentowani przykłady przedsięwzięć realizowanych w ramach Lean Management. Rozdział trzeci prezentuje funkcjonowanie Lean Management w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym Wentech. Dokonano charakterystyki przedsiębiorstwa. Przedstawiono przykłady wdrażania wybranych narzędzi Lean Management koncentrując się na wdrażaniu TPM, praktyk 5S oraz Kaizen.W rozdziale czwartym przedstawiono wyniki badań poziomu realizacji koncepcji Lean Management w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym Wentech. Omówiono metodologię przeprowadzonych badań i scharakteryzowano badaną grupę. Dokonano analizy wyników badań dotyczących realizacji koncepcji Lean Management w opinii kadry zarządzającej i pracowników produkcyjnych. Przedstawiono wnioski z przeprowadzonych badań.

In the paper, the proposition of application of two methodologies: the predictive scheduling and Total Productive Maintenance - TPM to increase efficiency of a production system is presented. In this paper, an example of problem of predicting a time of a bottle neck failure is presented. Using the Statistica program, histograms that show the graphical relationship of a number of observations and failure-free times of the bottle neck for historical periods are created. The fitting of the histograms to the theoretical distributions: normal, exponential, gamma and Weibull using appropriate tests (for example the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normal distribution) is researched. After finding distribution and setting parameters for historical periods, for the next scheduling horizon values of parameters are extrapolated using the regression method in the Statistica program. For the bottle neck various reliability characteristics are computed. Having the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time of Repair (MTTR) of the bottle neck, robust schedule is generated. At the time of the predicted failure, preventive actions and technical survey of the machine are scheduled. The production system is modeled in the simulation program - Enterprise Dynamics 8.1.

This paper presents a concept of using selected lean manufacturing methods. The lean manufacturing methods and techniques allow a systematic identification and elimination of waste by the continuous improvement of logistics processes in manufacturing enterprises. The reduction of costs and improvement in product quality, and also customizing a product with a customer’s requirements in mind, have a key importance in gaining competitive advantage. This is often connected with the maintenance of machines, particularly to increasing their reliability and obtaining better production flexibility. Those objectives can be accomplished by using lean manufacturing methods.

Organizing manufacturing work in a way that minimizes delays in individual production operations is a key factor in a highly competitive market. One of the key factors to prevent delays is their correct identification and proper definition of methods to reduce their impact on selected parameters of the production process. The study pre-sents the impact of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, standardization and Total Productive Maintenance) on delays in the manufacturing process. A statistical analysis of the level of delays was performed, which was aimed at showing the essence of using Lean Manufacturing tools to improve the efficiency of the production process. In the example analyzed, the implementation of selected LM tools allowed for a reduction of delays related to fail-ures by approximately 18 hours.

The article reviews the literature on the concept of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in manufacturing activities as one of the elements of lean production. On the example of an automotive manufacturing company, the TPM implementation process and the analysis of the effectiveness of the implementation of the method using the OEE indicator were presented. The analysis not only confirmed the effectiveness of the TPM concept in reducing the level and duration of machine failures, but also provided recommendations for further development of the concept in the company, and a basis for formulating objectives for the future.
