Opis:
Evaluation of Bus Rapid Transportation (BRT) based on service quality criteria and customer satisfaction can never be overemphasized due to its derivative, such as optimizing the performance of the transportation industry. Thus, this study employs the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method for the evaluation of service quality and customer satisfaction of the BRT system in Nigeria using the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and visekriterijumska optimizacija i kompromisno resenje (VIKOR), which are components of multi-criteria optimization and compromise solution to evaluate notable factors responsible for the user’s perspective. Research design is quantitative and analytical in nature through a survey of experts who are users of BRT services. Samples were drawn through a multi-stage sampling procedure and a total of 402 copies of questionnaires were administered to BRT users based on their experience with the system. Hence, VIKOR and FAHP methods are applied to analyse data retrieved from the field on services quality and performance level. The service quality (SERVQUAL) model (a multi-dimensional research instrument designed to capture consumer expectations and perceptions of service) was modified thereby generating six dimensions and thirty-six service criteria for this research. The FAHP method was employed to determine the weights of the decision criteria because there is a need to measure commuters’ perceptions and expectations based on numerical linguistic variables due to the vague, imprecise and complexity related to the nature of services. The criteria weights and responses of the survey analysis (data) related with the BRT are input for the VIKOR method for ranking. As measuring the perception of service quality based on crispy value can often be misleading, hence, the use of the fuzzy MCDM method can give a more realistic measurement. The result of the multi-criteria decision analysis revealed that pricing quality is the most relevant service quality dimension to users’ satisfaction, followed by the empathy quality dimension. The summary of strength and weakness areas of service quality discovered through the research and its managerial implications with recommendations were related to the appropriate authority in charge of the BRT system for improved performance.

Transformacja cyfrowa jest jednym z kluczowych elementów unijnego rozwoju gospodarczego oraz autonomii strategicznej. Pandemia COVID-19 stała się motorem do podjęcia prac mających na celu sprzyjanie cyfrowej przyszłości Europy, co znalazło odzwierciedlenie w komunikacie Komisji Europejskiej „Cyfrowy kompas na 2030 r.: europejska droga w cyfrowej dekadzie”. W tym kontekście niezwykle istotne wydaje się monitorowanie postępów krajów członkowskich w obszarze kompetencji cyfrowych. Celem artykułu jest ocena pozycji państw Unii Europejskiej w zakresie komputeryzacji i cyfryzacji w latach 2019 oraz 2021 z wykorzystaniem metody VIKOR oraz klasyfikacja krajów członkowskich ze względu na poziom analizowanego zjawiska. Wybór wskaźników wykorzystanych do badań wynikał zarówno z treści komunikatu KE, jak i tendencji obywateli UE do używania rozwiązań cyfrowych, dostrzeżonych przez innych badaczy oraz instytucje. Na ich podstawie oceniono dwadzieścia siedem państw UE w obecnym kształcie i stworzono ich rankingi stosując metodę VIKOR. Klasyfikacja krajów członkowskich do grup o podobnym poziomie komputeryzacji i rozwoju cyfrowego nastąpiła w oparciu o metodę odchyleń standardowych. Uzyskane rezultaty wskazują na istotne dysproporcje między państwami Unii Europejskiej, które wraz z postępującą transformacją cyfrową powoli zanikają. Połączenie wielokryterialnej metody wspomagania decyzji wraz z metodą prowadzącą do klasyfikacji wariantów decyzyjnych stanowi skuteczne narzędzie przy ocenie tempa procesu transformacji cyfrowej wśród krajów członkowskich.

In today´s competitive global markets, selection of a potential supplier plays an important role to cut production costs as well as material costs of the company. This leads to successful survival and sustainability in a competitive marketplace. Therefore, evaluation and selection of an appropriate supplier has become an important part of supply chain management. The nature of the supplier selection process is a complex multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem which deals with both quantitative and qualitative factors may be conflicting in nature as well as contain incomplete and uncertain information. In order to solve such a kind of MAGDM problems, the development of an effective supplier selection model is evidently desirable. In this paper, an application of the VIKOR method combined with fuzzy logic has been used to solve supplier selection problems with conflicting and non-commensurable (different units) criteria, assuming that compromising is acceptable for conflict resolution. The decision maker wants a solution, which must be closest to the ideal, and the alternatives are evaluated according to all established criteria. Linguistic values are used to assess the ratings and weights for the conflicting factors. These linguistic ratings can be expressed in triangular fuzzy numbers. Then, a hierarchy MAGDM model based on fuzzy sets theory and the VIKOR method has been proposed to deal with the supplier selection problems in the supply chain system. A case study has been illustrated as an application of the proposed model.

Opis:
One of the key components of any project, especially mining projects, is the selection and design of haulage equipment. In most mining activities, which sometimes include mining machinery, haulage costs form a major part of the operating expenses as a matter of concern to mine managers. Due to various factors affecting the selection process of a haulage system, it is not considered a crystal clear one. Because of the complexity and multi-criterion characteristic of the selection process, the use of multi-criterion decision-making methods can be of great help to solve this problem. The TOPSIS, AHP and VIKOR methods among the multi-criterion decision-making methods are some options which are based on priority ranking. In the current paper, the loading systems of conveyors, wagons and winches as well as the locomotives and wagons are investigated. Then, the aforementioned systems are used to make a hybrid based on eight criteria, which yields the best loading system for the Parvadeh Coal Mine in Tabas. Since the obtained results were not consistent with each other in some cases, some integration techniques were utilized to employ the above methods. After integrating the results of the ranking methods, the conveyor haulage system was eventually introduced as the best option.

Uncertainty, imprecise, incomplete, and inconsistent information can be found in many real-life systems and may cause more complex problems. A neutrosophic set is an effective and useful tool to describe problems with Uncertainty, imprecise, incomplete, and inconsistent information. The neutrosophic set is characterized by three independent degrees namely the truth-membership degree (T), indeterminacy-membership degree (I), and falsity-membership degree (F). In this paper, we present an extension of the VIKOR method for the solution of multi-criteria decision-making problems, namely neutrosophic set-VIKOR (NS-VIKOR) in a refined neutrosophic environment. The weight of each decision-maker is considered a singlevalued neutrosophic number. The criteria for the weight of every decision-maker are also considered neutrosophic numbers. An aggregation operator is used to combine all decision-makers’ opinions into a single opinion for a rating between criteria and alternatives. Euclidean distances from the positive and negative ideal solutions are calculated to construct relative closeness coefficients. Lastly, an illustrative example of tablet selection is provided to show the applicability of the proposed VIKOR approach.

Because of the COVID-19 situation, selection for a teaching assistant position to get a TA scholarship in a university in Thailand needs to be performed online by the formed committee. Due to the online process and the limited number of scholarships offered by the university, beyond the face-to-face interview, multiple-criteria decision analysis can help to select a proper student. In this study, we use the extended VIKOR method with fuzzy numbers to help committees to select the students from the applicants. The criteria and the weights of the criteria are provided with the help of committees. Both trapezoidal and triangular linguistic variables are used to find the solution and to observe the range of the possible result. The different weights supporting the strategy of maximum group utility are varied to detect the potential alternatives. The ranking results are also compared with the one obtained from the TODIM approach to illustrate the appropriate alternative.

The purpose of the research was to compare the logistics and logistic infrastructure development level in EU countries. To evaluate overall rank of each country in term of that traits, it was used eight variables which describes logistic characteristics. In this purpose, two of the multi-criteria models of decision making: a Multicriteria Optimization (VIKOR) and Compromise Solution and a Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) were applied and the results obtained by those two methods were compared. The results showed that VIKOR is more preferable method in comparison to TOPSIS methods and the countries where the logistic is developed the most according to the scores in created rankings are Germany, France and Poland.

Opis:
The application of micro components in various fields such as biomedical, medical, automobile, electronics, automobile and aviation significantly improved. To manufacture the micro components, different techniques exist in the non-traditional machining process. In those techniques, electrochemical micromachining (ECMM) exhibits a unique machining nature, such as no tool wear, non-contact machining process, residual stress, and heat-affected zone. Hence, in this study, micro holes were fabricated on the copper work material. The sodium nitrate (NaNO₃) electrolyte is considered for the experiments. During the experiments, magnetic fields strength along with UV rays are applied to the electrolyte. The L₁₈ orthogonal array (OA) experimental design is planned with electrolyte concentration (EC), machining voltage (MV), duty cycle (DC) and electrolyte temperature (ET). The optimization techniques such as similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) and grey relational analysis (GRA) were employed to find the optimal parameter combinations. The entropy weight method is used to assess the weight of responses such as MR and OC. The optimal combination using TOPSIS, VIKOR and GRA methods shows the same results for the experimental runs 8, 9 and 7, and the best optimal parameter combination is 28 g/l EC, 11 V MV, 85 % DC and 37°C ET. Based on the analysis of variance (ANOVA) results, electrolyte concentration plays a significant role by contributing 86 % to machining performance. The second and least contributions are DC (3.86 %) and ET (1.74 %) respectively on the performance. Furthermore, scanning electron microscope (SEM) images analyses are carried out to understand the effect of magnetic field and heated electrolyte on the work material.

Scoring the negotiation template and building a scoring system for negotiation offers is a starting point for analysis of negotiation. It is usually done by means of a classical additive scoring model. Recent research confirms, however, that TOPSIS may be a good alternative to SAW-based models, since it significantly facilitates the processes of template definition and elicitation of negotiator’s preferences. Fundamental ideas of the TOPSIS, VIKOR and BIPOLAR methods have been analysed and attempts were made to hybridize some of their notions to propose an alternative method for evaluating negotiation offers.

Gated communities are emerging all over the world day by day. Besides, the product quality of the gated communities are still questionable in some regions. This research aims to benchmark the product quality at each gated community based on the main determinants of the product quality. To do this, data collected from 623 residents from various gated communities through questionnaire. The obtained data has been processed via structural equations modeling and integrated with VIKOR to benchmark the qualities from top to bottom. The results show that “Sulaimani Heights” were the best product among other alternatives while Goizha II was the worst one.
