Opis:
Research background: The article deals with implementing VMI between the supplier and customer. To assess whether the system will be implemented, the evolution game theory is used. The contribution is based on the limitations of the study of the evolutionary game theory approach to modelling VMI policies (Torres et al., 2014) and its later extension, The evolutionary game theory approach to modelling VMI policies (Torres & García-Díaz, 2018). It aims is to complement the studies and provide a comprehensive picture of the issue. Purpose of the article: The main objective of the contribution is to respond to the question whether the VMI system will be introduced between the supplier and customer. Methods: In the first phase, the matrix is analysed from the point of view of the game meaning and its limit parameters. The limit parameters are set taking into account the economic reality. The only examined states of the matrix are those where the result is not obvious. For the purposes of the contribution, we work with a 5-year period. A new software capable of calculating evolutionary focus and their stability is created. Sensitivity analysis is carried out for the individual parameters that affect the system behaviour. Findings & Value added: Value added is a complex description of the system and complementation of previous studies in this field. VMI is confirmed. The results obtained can be used for practical management, so that the managers are able to identify what the actual costs are and what the probability of introducing the system is. At the same time, they can identify the parameters that can be influenced by them and observe their impact on the shift of the system introduction probability.

Opis:
Purpose: Computed tomography (CT) pulmonary angiography is considered the gold standard for pulmonary embolism (PE) diagnosis, relying on the discrimination between contrast and embolus. Photon-counting detector CT (PCD-CT) generates monoenergetic reconstructions through energy-resolved detection. Virtual monoenergetic images (VMI) at low keV can be used to improve pulmonary artery opacification. While studies have assessed VMI for PE diagnosis on dual-energy CT (DECT), there is a lack of literature on optimal settings for PCD-CT-PE reconstructions, warranting further investigation. Material and methods: Twenty-five sequential patients who underwent PCD-CT pulmonary angiography for suspicion of acute PE were retrospectively included in this study. Quantitative metrics including signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise (CNR) ratio were calculated for 4 VMI values (40, 60, 80, and 100 keV). Qualitative measures of diagnostic quality were obtained for proximal to distal pulmonary artery branches by 2 cardiothoracic radiologists using a 5-point modified Likert scale. Results: SNR and CNR were highest for the 40 keV VMI (49.3 ± 22.2 and 48.2 ± 22.1, respectively) and were inversely related to monoenergetic keV. Qualitatively, 40 and 60 keV both exhibited excellent diagnostic quality (mean main pulmonary artery: 5.0 ± 0 and 5.0 ± 0; subsegmental pulmonary arteries 4.9 ± 0.1 and 4.9 ± 0.1, respectively) while distal segments at high (80-100) keVs had worse quality. Conclusions: 40 keV was the best individual VMI for the detection of pulmonary embolism by quantitative metrics. Qualitatively, 40-60 keV reconstructions may be used without a significant decrease in subjective quality. VMIs at higher keV lead to reduced opacification of the distal pulmonary arteries, resulting in decreased image quality.

Opis:
Supply chain management literature is rich in pointing to the benefits generated by collaborative supply chain arrangements. While there is consensus that supply chain integration can improve supply chain performance, research studying relational factors in long-term collaborative buyer-supplier relationships is still scarce. Focusing on distributor-manufacturer relationships that use VMI, and based on the theory of psychological contracts, this paper investigates the relationship between the length of a VMI relationship and the supply chain trust in that relationship using survey data. While our findings confirm that average distributor trust in the manufacturer is quite high, we also shed light on a dark side of long-term VMI relationships by providing evidence that they are associated with lower levels of distributor trust in the manufacturer (relative to short-term relationships). Our findings demonstrate that in order to maintain the initially high trust levels in VMI relationships, good inventory performance may not be sufficient.

Opis:
In our paper we considered the problem of demand uncertainty and its influence on planning and scheduling of LPG deliveries. The experience of specialized transportation company in charge of LPG deliveries for the domestic supplier network under VMI approach was analyzed. High variability of distribution parameters and frequent orders modifications were observed while small stations tanks capacities comparing to high daily LPG sales volumes were considered. The combined use of simulation and optimization methods was proposed for the case of LPG distribution to the petrol stations network. The demand uncertainty at customers' stations was considered. Simulation models were assumed to be efficient for dynamic and robust delivery plans of LPG distribution. The results of computational experiments were presented for different values of coefficient of variation.

Opis:
Information flows in the logistics and their volume become the starting point for considerations on the Logistics Information System - LIS. In order to select the most important information from the decision-correctness point of view, with the highest merit and in short time, appropriate measures and information techniques should be applied. Only computer techniques can handle with such an enormous amount of data and process them into valuable and useful information. The Logistics Information System is based on the broadly recognised ICT infrastructure, which constitutes the basis for application of further technical solutions. The popular document exchange technique is EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). EDI, as an inter-organizational system, ensures data and information transfer between companies, when pursuing the goals of logistics activity. With this technique, information is collected and transferred almost at every supply chain link.
