Opis:
This paper is the fourth in a series of publications presenting the process of installation, testing and long-term assessment of the navigational parameters of the Polish DGPS system. This series of publications intends to present – to the general public – the accomplishments of teams of Polish scientists who have been working for years to make the DGPS the main positioning system used in the Polish sea areas. A considerable part of the materials presented in this paper has never been published. The article presents changes in the position accuracy of the Polish DGPS system over 20 years. Both dynamic tests performed on vessels as well as static measurements campaigns were analysed. The publication contains selected results achieved in its installation and testing in 1995–1997 supplemented with the results of studies conducted in the years: 2006, 2010, 2014, 2017. During this period the position accuracy increased from 2–8 m (1996) to approx. 1–2 m (2010) due to three reasons: turning – off the Selective Availability (2000), technical modernization of reference stations (2010) and continuous – over many years – reducing GPS signal-in-space pseudorange errors, which results in increased position accuracy in all GPS augmentation systems.

Opis:
This research paper outlines the methodology and application of geometric and static accuracy assessment of articulated industrial robots using the Extended Double Ball Bar (EDBB) as well as the Loaded Double Ball Bar (LDBB). In a first experiment, the EDBB is used to assess the geometric accuracy of a Comau NJ-130 robot. Advanced measuring trajectories are investigated that regard poses or axes configurations, which maximize the error influences of individual robot components, and, in this manner, increase the sensitivity for a large number of individual error parameters. The developed error-sensitive trajectories are validated in experimental studies and compared to the circular trajectories according to ISO 203-4. Next, the LDBB is used to assess an ABB IRB6700 manipulator under quasi-static loads of up to 600 Newton using circular testing according to ISO 230-4. The stiffness is identified from the loaded circular trajectories. Then, the stiffness is used to perform a reverse calculation to identify the kinematic errors on the path deviations. The concept is validated in a case study of quasi-static loaded circular testing using the LDBB compared to a Leica AT960 laser tracker (LT).

Opis:
The problem of the accuracy of anti-collision manoeuvres planning and executing at different radar picture stabilization methods (sea or ground stabilization) is described in the article. The analysis of performance standards elaborated for the radar equipment and the results of the simulation are presented. The obtained research results could be the base of discussion on the need to correct the radar equipment performance standards for easier and more appropriate interpretation of information. Basic radar utility use (for example trial manoeuvre) should be more clearly described in manuals for better and proper radar use.
W artykule przedstawiono problem dokładności planowania i wykonania manewrów antykolizyjnych przy różnych metodach stabilizacji obrazu radarowego. Zaprezentowano analizę standardów opracowanych dla wyposażenia radarowego oraz wyniki badań symulacyjnych. Mogłyby się one stać podstawą do dyskusji na temat kierunków poprawy standardów wyposażenia radaru z zamiarem ułatwienia użycia i poprawniejszej interpretacji informacji. Wykorzystanie radaru (np. dla określenia próbnego manewru) powinno być jaśniej opisane w instrukcjach, jeśli oczekuje się jego lepszego i właściwszego zastosowania.

In the year 2005 the EGNOS enters the Operational Readiness Review phase becoming available for users in its almost full capability. It may be expected that very soon EGNOS will find significant interest among many users and will find many applications all over the Europe. The paper presents the summary of the tests of satellite positioning with using EGNOS (ESTB) signal conducted by author in the area of the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea during several years since 2001 till now. The results of conducted tests show the EGNOS (ESTB) performance at the edge of the nominal system coverage, verifying, in the experimental way, the predicted system accuracy and the efficiency of WADGPS EGNOS algorithms in this area. Additionally, the comparison of the results obtained during the subsequent years of the system development shows the gradual improvement in system performance coming with increased number of RIMS and the evolution from the EGNOS System Test Bed to the fully capable EGNOS.

The article presents analysis of the automatic radar plotting aid (ARPA) and automatic identification system (AIS) indications reliability performed on the base of the results of measurements conducted on merchant vessels at sea. In the first part of the article titled “Comparative study of the accuracy of AIS and ARPA indications. Part 1. Accuracy of the CPA indications” are described: vessels on which the tests were carried out, AIS and radar equipment installed on them, observed meeting situations and accuracy of the CPA indication. In this article are discussed, for the same meeting situations, accuracy of the information on true course and true speed of the opposite vessel presented by ARPA and AIS and correlation between this accuracies and errors of the CPA indication.

Ways of adjusting MEMS accelerometers for tilt measurements over a small angular range of few degrees arc or less are considered with regard to achieving a possibly high accuracy. The paper describes some additional mechanical structures applied to overcome the problem of incompatibility between the large measuring range of MEMS accelerometers and the expected small angular measuring range.

In machining up to 75% of the geometrical variations of work piece, features are caused by thermally induced deformations of machine components [1]. Since in dry cutting up to 80% of the thermal energy is stored in the chips [2], we expected a significant effect of these process-dependent heat sources on the machine accuracy. Based on preliminary simulation results, we systematically applied determined quantities of heated chips to a machine table to understand their impact on the temperature field. Temperature sensors where used to measure the temperature change on the tables surface and in the structure. Length measuring probes measured the corresponding deformations at 24 points distributed over the table. The measurements show a temperature change of 4 K at the surface and 3 K in the structure near the heat source after 6 minutes of exposure to 500°C chips. In this case, the impact on the temperature field is local but causes the bending of the table. We recorded 8 micron of thermo-elastic deformations. The results suggest that high-accuracy processes with large energy input, such as hard turning, require the heat induced into the machine structure by hot chips to be implemented into compensation methods and correction algorithms.

Opis:
An attempt to determine the impact of developing polynomial on the accuracy of setting down a ship's position coordinates based on measurements of two bearings has been ventured in this paper. A navigation structure consisting of two aids has been analysed. A ship maneuvering within a given area was setting down her position in respect to them. As a result of this, numeral accuracy indexes were calculated. They gave principles for conclusions regarding the impact of the distance between the aids of navigation on the accuracy of setting down the position’s coordinates.
W artykule podjęto próbę ustalenia wpływu rozwijanego wielomianu na dokładność wyznaczenia współrzędnych pozycji z pomiaru dwóch namiarów. Analizie poddano strukturę nawigacyjną składającą się z dwóch znaków nawigacyjnych, względem których jednostka manewrująca na zadanym obszarze wyznaczała swoją pozycję. W następstwie tego wyliczono liczbowe wskaźniki dokładnościowe. Dały one podstawę do wyprowadzenia wniosków na temat wpływu odległości między znakami na dokładność wyznaczania współrzędnych pozycji.

Producers of GPS receivers nowadays offer many easy-to-use, mobile units for amateur and professional athletes. Similar functionality parameters and a relatively low price make it difficult for the average user to make a choice. This article compares technical aspects of different GPS devices and presents results of their dynamic accuracy evaluation. Selected GNSS units were divided into two groups: specialized dedicated to sports and GPS data loggers. The tests were carried out on the sports stadium of the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport, where the lanes were measured with the use of the GPS Total Station phase receivers Leica GS-15 VIVA, supported by Polish Active Geodetic Network ASG-EUPOS. The ellipsoidal coordinates logged in the GNSS sports receivers were transformed in Gauss-Kruger projection to conformal x, y coordinates and statistical distributions of the predictable accuracy were calculated. The article also discusses other (important from a functional point of view) characteristics of GPS receivers used by athletes.
