Opis:: In the numerical analysis of the eigen behaviour of large liquid and gas storage tanks, an important role is played by initial pre-stressing of such thin-walled structures due to high fluid pressure and gravity. In a majority of numerical simulations, the finite state of deformation is first calculated, following which small, linear vibrations are superimposed on the finite state. This paper is devoted to refinement and assessment of the basic Eckart superimposed eigencharacteristics problem simultaneously stated in fluid and thin-walled structures. Eckart's coupled approach leads to variational structure-fluid coupling in the so-called acoustic approximation. In order to verify the feasibility and correctness of the symmetrical Eckart approach, finite element discretization and a calculation example of a rectangular tank are presented. The calculated results are compared with literature ones.

Opis:: The paper presents the results of the application of the hierarchical clustering methods for the classification of the acoustic emission (AE) signals generated by eight basic forms of partial discharges (PD), which can occur in paper-oil insulation of power transformers. Based on the registered AE signals from the particular PD forms, using a frequency descriptor in the form of the power spectral density (PSD) of the signal, their representation in the form of the set of points on plane XY was created. Next, these sets were subjected to analysis using research algorithms consisting of selected clustering methods. Based on the suggested numeric performance indicators, the analysis of the degree of reproduction of the actual distribution of points showing the particular time waveforms of the AE signals from eight adopted PD forms (PD classes) in the obtained clusters was carried out. As a result of the analyses carried out, the clustering algorithms of the highest effectiveness in the identification of all eight PD classes, classified simultaneously, where indicated. Within the research carried out, an attempt to draw general conclusions as to the selection of the most effective hierarchical clustering method studied and the similarity function to be used for classification of the selected basic PD forms.

Opis:: The article presents the results concerning the use of clustering methods to identify signals of acoustic emission (AE) generated by partial discharge (PD) in oil-paper insulation. The conducted testing featured qualitative analysis of the following clustering methods: single linkage, complete linkage, average linkage, centroid linkage and Ward linkage. The purpose of the analysis was to search the tested series of AE signal measurements, deriving from three various PD forms, for elements of grouping (clusters), which are most similar to one another and maximally different than in other groups in terms of a specific feature or adopted criteria. Then, the conducted clustering was used as a basis for attempting to assess the effectiveness of identification of particular PD forms that modelled exemplary defects of the power transformer’s oil-paper insulation system. The relevant analyses and simulations were conducted using the Matlab estimation environment and the clustering procedures available in it. The conducted tests featured analyses of the results of the series of measurements of acoustic emissions generated by the basic PD forms, which were obtained in laboratory conditions using spark gap systems that modelled the defects of the power transformer’s oil-paper insulation.

Opis:: On-load tap changers (OLTC) are some of the main transformer elements that make voltage adjustment in a power network possible. Their failures often cause shutdowns of distribution transformers. The paper presents research work aimed at the assessment of the technical condition of OLTCs by the acoustic emission method (EA). This method makes the OLTC diagnosis possible without the need of disconnecting the transformer from the system. The measurements were taken in laboratory conditions. The influence on the operation non-concurrence of the power tap changer contacts on the AE registered signals has been investigated. The signals registered were subjected to analyses in the time and time-frequency domains. The result analysis in the time domain was carried out using the Hilbert transform and calculating characteristic times for the particular runs. A short-time Fourier transform was used for the assessment of results in the time-frequency do- main.

Opis:: W artykule omówiono problemy związane z identyfikacją mówcy i przedstawiono propozycję procedury ułatwiającej proces identyfikacji w części akustycznej. Koncepcja opiera się na metodach programowania dynamicznego, a w szczególności algorytmu znanego jako DTW (dynamic time warping). Przeprowadzone zostały testy wskazujące na przydatność proponowanej procedury przy próbie ustalenia, które samogłoski oraz formanty pozwalają dostatecznie zróżnicować mówców, dostatecznie indywidualizując każdego z nich.
The paper discusses issues concerning forensic speaker identification and proposes a procedure simplifying the process of speaker identification in the acoustic scope. The idea revolves around methods of dynamic programming, especially the DTW (dynamic time warping) algorithm described further in the paper. Tests which were carried out demonstrated the usefulness of the suggested procedure when trying to determine which vowels and formants are the best differentiating and characterizing a speaker.

Opis:: The paper presents the method of acoustic emission (AE) in the study of the state of insulation systems with air as the high-voltage insulation. The tested object was a planar system of electrodes made of aluminum. In addition, the analysis of AE signals and the impact on these signals the presence of dielectric coating on the electrode surfaces of aluminum was tested. We examined the influence of saturation (seal) these coatings on the dielectric strength of the insulation system. The study was conducted at an air pressure values 1·105, 3·105 and 5·105 Pa. The strength of the electrical systems were tested at alternating voltage with a frequency of 50 Hz. Noted pros and cons of using the method of EA in the context of the assessment of high-voltage electric insulation devices. The presented results confirm the possibility of using acoustic emission method, not only for identifying vulnerable areas, but also to predict the time of of further use of high voltage device.

Opis:: Przedstawiono wyniki badań podajnika ślimakowego do transportowania materiałów ziarnistych. Do oceny stanu technicznego tego urządzenia zastosowano metodę akustyczną. Wyznaczono podstawowe wskaźniki sygnałów diagnostycznych badanego obiektu dla różnych parametrów roboczych i powiązano je z symptomami procesów zużyciowych. Podano zalecenia odnośnie do dalszej eksploatacji podajnika.
The results of testing of a feeding screw applied to transportation of loose material were presented. Acoustic method for evaluation of the technical state of this device was used. The diagnostic indexes for several values of operating speed were determined and joined with corresponding symptoms of wear processes. The recommendations for the further work of the feeder were presented.
