Opis:: Terms of address and personal salutation are the most important features for starting communicative contacts. There are almost no information in dictionaries and in grammars, and very few in manuals for teaching foreign languages. This paper deals, for oral and written communication in German, with the most important conventions of address: on the pronominal and nominal level and in the domain of protocol. Moreover some examples of diachronic change are discussed.

Opis:: The subject of the article is the question of rendering the addressee in the Polish translations of Song of Myself by Walt Whitman, in which a certain indeterminacy in the shaping of the recipient can be observed. The crucial distinction between the intratextual addressee and the extratextual addressee projected by the text, based on the typology proposed by David Herman, allows taking into consideration the personal reader as the communicative partner of the speaker in the poem. Initially, the Polish translation of the poem by Andrzej Szuba projects a community as the addressee, whereas from the translation by Ludmiła Marjańska the image of the individual recipient emerges. However, further on in the translation by Szuba the collective addressee changes into the single one, whereas in the translation by Marjańska the opposite process takes place because in the final section the individual addressee turns into the collective one. But it is not an unspecified community that is the participant of the communicative situation projected by the text; it is an individual, it is each personal reader. It is the individual extratextual addressee that is the beneficiary of the poetic undertaking. Unfortunately, the existing Polish translations are not conducive to the understanding of the role assigned to the extratextual addressee by the text, and make it hard for the Polish reader to form a proper mental image of the recipient projected by the poem.

Tytuł:: Axiological vectors in the American and Russian presidential discourse : the state of the Union Address and the Address to the Russian Federal Assembly compared

Opis:: Presidential discourse is an indicative of axiological and other developmental vectors of a linguocultural community. It informs one about the main social, cultural, economic, and political changes in a country. In this respect, the annual State of the Union Address in the USA and the Address to the Federal Assembly in Russia are seen as the highlights of the political calendar in both countries, as these statements summarise the most relevant issues and enable their respective leaders to elaborate on their vision of their nation's future. This paper aims to analise and compare the axiological vectors developed in the given presidential addresses in both Russia and the USA in the period from 2009 to 2015. It traces not only the most relevant values promoted by the political leaders, but also any axiological changes that occurred in the eventful years under investigation. The results of the research inform one about the current axiological identities of the linguocultural communities in question and the changing vectors of their development.

Tytuł:: Variability in hungarian address forms

Opis:: This paper discusses characteristics of the variability in Hungarian address forms on the basis of questionnaire and interview data. Based on the results of her sociolinguistic study (Domonkosi 2002), the author argues that, beyond the dichotomy of T vs. V form, the Hungarian address system has a number of address variants of different social indexical value, which define the typical use and functions of the distinct variants. The analysis demonstrates that there are differences in the address of different age groups that are indicative of change in address in Hungarian. The paper also reports on intradyadic variability in address, the possible functions of switching of address and the correlation between the nature of the relationship vs. the number and type of possible address variants. The findings show that in today’s Hungarian address switching between T and V form indicates a change in the quality of the relationship, that a dynamic switching back and forth between T and V forms is not usual, and that variants of nominal address forms signal emotional shades of meaning in relationships. The study also discusses possibilities of transfer of address and typical changes in the value of address forms, illustrating with empirical data how Hungarian kinship terms are used in non-literal ways.

Tytuł:: A method of using MAC Address Translation (MAT) and Network Address Translation (NAT) for allowing communication with multiple network devices that share the same IP address

Opis:: This paper presents a practical method that allows a workstation to concurrently communicate with multiple connected devices located in the same broadcast domain that share the same IPv4 address. This technique is useful for post factory rework processes that require altering network devices’ firmware or configuration for multiple devices at the same time. It is applicable to any type of network device which uses a standard TCP/IP protocol for its management. This includes basically all types of network devices available on the market including consumer and enterprise routers, switches, storages and other types of devices equipped with an Ethernet interface. While similar techniques may exist, those are vendor and device specific and can not be used as a general method for performing such tasks. Proposed solution can be used with any type of network device for simplifying and speeding up the process of mass device rework within post factory processes.

Opis:: Oznaczenia adresowe są nierzucającym się w oczy elementem krajobrazu zdecydowanej większości miast świata. W otaczającej nas przestrzeni publicznej odgrywają rolę informacyjną, a nierzadko również estetyczną. Wizualny aspekt oznaczeń adresowych stanowi konsekwencję odnoszących się do nich regulacji administracyjnoprawnych, które bezpośrednio (określając formę lub treść oznaczeń adresowych) lub pośrednio (np. statuując określony podział terytorialny miasta) wpływają na ich wygląd. Oparta na przykładzie Krakowa analiza historycznej ewolucji formy i treści oznaczeń adresowych pozwala na identyfikację powiązań, jakie mają one ze strukturą organizacyjno-prawną miasta oraz z jej rozwojem na przestrzeni dziejów. Wykazane na podstawie odwołań do koncepcji estetyki prawa oraz nietekstualiów w prawie zależności w tym zakresie umożliwiają traktowanie oznaczeń adresowych jako elementów lokalnego dziedzictwa kulturowego, a także desygnatów dziedzictwa prawa administracyjnego in genere.
Address markings are an unobtrusive element of the landscape of the vast majority of cities in the world. In the public space that surrounds us, they play an informative and often aesthetic role. The visual aspect of address designations is a consequence of the administrative and legal regulations relating to them, which directly (specifying the form or content of the address designations) or indirectly (e.g. by establishing a specific territorial division of the city) affect their appearance. An analysis of the historical evolution of the form and content of address markings, based on the example of Cracow, allows for the identification of the links they have with the organizational and legal structure of the city and its development throughout history. The dependencies in this respect, demonstrated on the basis of references to the concept of legal aesthetics and non-textual law, make it possible to treat address designations as elements of local cultural heritage, as well as designates of administrative law in genere.

Opis:: At this moment there is a lack of research respecting Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) address assignment methods used in Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN). The goal of this paper is to review the SDAD, WDAD and Buddy methods of IP address assignment known from MANET in difficult environment of Delay and Disruptive Tolerant Networks. Our research allows us for estimating the effectiveness of the chosen solution and, therefore, to choose the most suitable one for specified conditions. As a part of the work we have created a tool which allows to compare these methods in terms of capability of solving address conflicts and network load. Our simulator was created from scratch in Java programming language in such a manner, that implementation of new features and improvements in the future will be as convenient as possible.

Artykuł omawia trzy wybrane usługi sieciowe, których zrozumienie opiera się na podstawowej wiedzy związanej z adresowaniem IP. Aby mieć dostęp do dowolnych zasobów WWW należy posiadać publiczny adres IP, który może być współdzielony przez wiele komputerów z zastosowaniem translacji NAT (statycznej lub dynamicznej) lub translacji z przeciążeniem adresów PAT. Adres IP dla komputera może być przypisany ręcznie lub przydzielony dynamicznie poprzez usługę DHCP. Aby przeglądarka internetowa właściwe zinterpretowała adres domenowy musi być dostępna usługa odwzorowująca ten adres na adres IP zrozumiały dla oprogramowania sieciowego. Powyższym zagadnieniom poświęcony jest ten artykuł.
There are many services available online, you can use with an Internet connection. The article discusses three selected web services which understanding is based on basic knowledge related to IP addressing. To have access to any web resources one must have a public IP address which may be shared by multiple computers using the NAT translation (static or dynamic) or the overload PAT translation. The IP address for the computer may be assigned manually or dynamically by the DHCP service. An internet browser must have access to a service mapping IP addresses for networking software to properly interpret the domain address. The article presents these issues.

Opis:: The present outline is an attempt to describe the changes which occurred in the Polish and Czech address system following 1989. In the centre of attention there are standard, professional and functional terms of address and also their combinations with a name and surname. The author defines the factors influencing the Polish and Czech address system. Among them, he discerns not only the political and economic ones but also points to the historical, cultural and moral conditions. Special attention has been paid to new phenomena observable in the studied address systems and to the direction of their potential alterations.
