Opis:
Spaghetti squash is an interesting novelty in Poland. Popularization of spaghetti squash cultivation in our country requires development of agricultural recommendations. The size and the quality of yield is highly affected by the sowing date and plant population. The paper presents the results of a four-year study on the effect of the sowing date (5, 15 and 25 May) and plant spacing (1 × 0.6 m, 1 × 0.8 m and 1 × 1 m, ie. 16,668, 12,500 and 10,000 plants per ha) on the yield of spaghetti squash (‘Makaronowa Warszawska’ and ‘Pyza’) under the soil and climatic conditions of central-eastern Poland. The highest yield per hectare and the largest number of marketable fruits per plant was obtained while sowing on 5 May. Delaying the sowing date resulted in a decrease in the yield per hectare and of the number of marketable fruits per plant, although the average weight of a marketable fruit sown on 15 and 25 May did not significantly differ in comparison to sowing on 5 May. Increasing the spacings between plants from 1 × 0.6 m to 1 × 1 m resulted in decreasing the yield per hectare, but the number of marketable fruits per plant was larger. Plant spacing did not have a significant effect on the average weight of a marketable fruit. The yield per hectare for the ‘Pyza’ was larger in comparison to the ‘Makaronowa Warszawska’. The number of marketable fruits per plant did not significantly differ, but the weight of the ‘Pyza’ fruit was higher.
Dynia makaronowa jest interesującą nowością w Polsce. Rozpowszechnienie uprawy dyni makaronowej w naszym kraju wymaga opracowania zaleceń agrotechnicznych.

Opis:
Average incomes in the agricultural sector are still much lower than average wages in non-agricultural sectors in the most of the EU Member States, which is contrary to one of the CAP’s initial objectives of “ensuring a fair standard of living for the agricultural community”. The main aim of this paper is to verify whether EU membership and the use of CAP funds helped reduce relative income gap of farmers. The second aim is to analyse which factors influence this income gap and how. Our study is based on EAA data for EU-27 for the period 1995–2015 and makes use of three panel data regression models estimated for all EU Member States, the “old” ones (EU-15) and the “new” ones (EU-12). Our results show that the social goals of the CAP support have not been achieved in the EU-15; however, they have been achieved under the SAPS in the EU-12.
W badaniach wykorzystano dane EAA z 27 krajów członkowskich z lat 1995–2015 i oszacowano trzy modele regresji panelowej: dla wszystkich, „starych” i „nowych” krajów członkowskich.

Opis:
In Poland, the potential for biogas production is high. important source of renewable energy and contributes to reducing the emissions of methane, a greenhouse gas. In this article, based on materials from the National Agricultural Advisory Centre (KOWR), literature, and statistical data, the implementation of the agrigas plant construction programme was evaluated in individual voivodeships. Based on the collected data, it was concluded that the most meaningful factors for the successful development of Polish agricultural biogas plants are biogas production technology, substrate availability, energy price from renewable energy sources, waste disposal costs, population density in the commune, and allocation of places in local spatial development plans (MPZP). DEMATEL technique was used to identify key development factors. The results of the study provide useful information for both government and local authorities in the search for effective ways to drive the sector's development.

Opis:
This article deals with the prospects and trends of crop production development in Ukraine, as well as the methods and ways of supporting this industry by the state.According to the article, the primary objective of the state is to create conditions through the reallocation of resources and facilitate the introduction of new forms of economic activity in the regions, which are depressed in terms of agriculture today. It is noted that to justify the need for institutional changes in crop production we must take into account the appropriate specifics of agricultural production in some areas. The article reports that, a large number of similar types of agricultural enterprises, unlike in other sectors of the economy, allow us to group the results of their activity: in terms of forms of management, on a territorial basis or according to other types of features for further comparative analysis. Therefore, the article offers the crop production regions clustering in certain areas, to determine which areas need the state aid priority. It is noted that in terms of crop production it is possible to increase the efficiency of agricultural activity due to a better use of agricultural land, as well as by an increase in average crop yield per 1 hectare. Therefore, it is offered to use the integral index of crop production position of each region, based on the ratios of extensive and intensive load. The extensive load factor represents the degree of agricultural land use.The intensive load factor reflects the effectiveness of land fund usage, that is, the average yield, which is produced from the agricultural land of the same region. However, the average yield cannot directly serve as the basis for calculation, because the structure of the sown area of each region is heterogeneous. In this study, while calculating the intensive load factor, it is offered primarily to carry out the procedure of yield rate normalization for each group of crops separately.Using the method of integral estimation of crop development, the autor has made an appropriate ranking of Ukraine regions according to the area of sown crops in Ukraine, based on which 4 sectors of Ukraine areas have been allocated and grouped by crop production development level. The article goes on to give the recommendations for decision making supporting investments and state aid for each of the selected sectors to further develop crop production in the regions of Ukraine.

Opis:
The research presented in the paper allowed the author not only to fully recognize the correctness of production processes, but also determine the relations between production factors and production volumes (productivity and factor relations). Based on the adopted analytical assumptions and general conditions of farming processes in agriculture, the paper analyzes relations between production factors, i.e., the essence of production techniques. The research on relations between production factors is very complex, thus the paper focuses only on some areas of the issue, such as: labor productivity and its dependency on technical equipment of labor or agrarian structure (approximate land-labor ratio) and the dependency of capital-labor and land-labor ratios on production factors. The analysis is based on the principle of generality and the methodological approach for deduction is used in the paper. The empirical part of the paper uses the dataset for selected EU countries. It was concluded that the ( ) ratio, relatively to ( ) ratio, has a greater impact on the level of labor productivity. These conclusions may be significant for agricultural policy, since improving the agrarian structure does not seem to be a priority, whereas the technical equipment of labor seems to be more important. Thus, it is crucial to increase the involvement of the capital factor.

Opis:
Micronutrient deficiencies in agricultural soils significantly affect crop productivity and the nutritional quality of produce, posing potential risks to human health. Abandoned mine tailings, which are rich in micronutrients, can serve as an effective solution to enhance the nutritional value of crops while also mitigating environmental impact. In this study, the soils were sourced from the semi-arid Doukkala region in western Morocco, while the tailings were obtained from the abandoned Kettara mine in the nearby Marrakech region. This study assessed the biomass and bioconcentration of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grown in three different soils amended with treated mine tailings (TMT) at doses of 0, 0.2, 1, 2, and 4 g·kg-1. The experiment, conducted under greenhouse conditions and in pots, employed a split-plot design with three replicates, monitoring morphological parameters and plant biomass. Concentrations of Cu, Fe, Zn, and Mn in wheat grains were measured by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP AES) after harvest. The results indicate an increase in root length, shoot height, number of tillers, shoot biomass and grain biomass with TMT amendment doses of less than 1 g.kg-1 soil, by 13.6, 42.1, 42.6, 49.6, and 32.9% respectively. However, these parameters decreased with doses > 2 g·kg-1. Significant linear correlations were observed between the concentrations of micronutrients in wheat grains and those present in the soil. The bioconcentration factor increased but remained below 1. This research reveals that TMT are perfectly suitable to fertilize wheat using doses<1 g·kg-1, ensuring safe application for the environment and human health. Through this research, it was demonstrated that within certain thresholds, TMT can enhance the mineral nutrition of plants as well as positively impact agricultural productivity and product quality. These results can be replicated in other regions worldwide by adhering to the described procedure.

Opis:
The paper was prepared under the topic: Sources of growth and the expected evolution of structures and the role of the agri-food sector until the year 2020 and beyond in the task: Investments, efficiency and new technologies as the sources of economic growth in agriculture until and after 2020
The paper aimed at assessment of the sources of economic growth in agriculture, with particular focus on verification of the character and efficiency of the sources. Emphasis was put on assessment of exogenous sources – relation of prices of the factors of production (capital, labour and land). This was captured in the convention of the analysis of price and degree of its rarity. The assessment covered also the relationship between the relations of prices of factors of production and their relations as for their engagement in production. In fact, the analysis covered the relationship between the price relations of production factors and the used production techniques. The attention was also focused on exogenous impacts in the field of monetary policy. Chapters: Production factor market as an exogenous condition. Production factor price relationships. Relationships of prices and employment of production factors. Monetary policy as a part of the exogenous mechanism of price formation in agriculture.,
