Opis:
Selection strategies prove to be a valuable approach in mitigating complexity associated with antenna selection (AS) and relay selection (RS), optimizing signal transmission through a streamlined number of antennas/relays, and enhancing overall system performance. This paper offers a comprehensive analysis, deriving closed-form expressions for the outage probability (OP) and throughput in proposed scenarios that leverage the best relay selection (BRS) and transmit antenna selection (TAS) protocol for cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (CNOMA), along with partial relay selection (PRS) and TAS protocol for CNOMA. The study extends to Rayleigh fading channels, considering practical impairments such as successful interference cancellation (SIC) error, channel estimation error (CEE), and feedback delay error. In comparing the proposed system to conventional CNOMA, our findings highlight the substantial impact of SIC, CEE, and feedback delay imperfections on the performance of both proposed scenarios. Notably, the application of BRS-based TAS protocol outperforms PRS-based TAS in terms of OP and throughput. The close alignment between analytical, asymptotic, and simulation results attests to the credibility of conducted analysis.

Opis:
With the advent of massive MIMO and mmWave, Antenna selection is the new frontier in hybrid beamforming employed in 5G base stations. Tele-operators are reworking on the components while upgrading to 5G where the antenna is a last-mile device. The burden on the physical layer not only demands smart and adaptive antennas but also an intelligent antenna selection mechanism to reduce power consumption and improve system capacity while degrading the hardware cost and complexity. This work focuses on reducing the power consumption and finding the optimal number of RF chains for a given millimeter wave massive MIMO system. At first, we investigate the power scaling method for both perfect Channel State Information (CSI) and imperfect CSI where the power is reduced by1/Nᵣ and 1/√Nᵣ respectively. We further propose to reduce the power consumption by emphasizing on the subdued resolution of Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) with quantization awareness. The proposed algorithm selects the optimal number of antenna elements based on the resolution of ADCs without compromising on the quality of reception. The performance of the proposed algorithm shows significant improvement when compared with conventional and random antenna selection methods.

Opis:
The paper deals with transmitter diversity antenna selection techniques (ASTs) for wireless channels utilizing differential space-time block codes (DSTBCs). The proposed ASTs tend to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of those channels. Particularly, we propose here the so-called general (M,N;K) AST/DSTBC scheme for such channels. Then, based on this AST, we propose two modified ASTs which are more amenable to practical implementation, namely the restricted (M,N;K) AST/DSTBC scheme and the (N + —N,N;K) AST/DSTBC scheme. The restricted (M,N;K) AST/DSTBC scheme provides relatively good bit error performance using only one feedback bit for transmission diversity purpose, while the (N+ —N,N;K) AST/DSTBC scheme shortens the time required to process feedback information. These techniques remarkably improve bit error rate (BER) performance of wireless channels using DSTBCs with a limited number (typically 1 or 2) of training symbols per each coherent duration of the channel. Simulations show that the proposed AST/DSTBC schemes outperform the DSTBCs without antenna selection even with only 1 training symbol.

MIMO technology has become very popular in a wireless communication system because of the many advantages of multiple antennas at the transmitting end and receiving end. The main advantages of MIMO systems are higher data rate and higher reliability without the need of extra power and bandwidth. The MIMO system provides higher data rate by using spatial multiplexing technique and higher reliability by using diversity technique. The MIMO systems have not only advantages, but also have disadvantages. The main disadvantage of MIMO system is that the multiple antennas required extra high cost RF modules. The extra RF modules increase the cost of wireless communication systems. In this research, the antenna selection techniques are proposed to minimize the cost of MIMO systems. Furthermore, this research also presents techniques for antenna selection to enhance the capacity of channel in MIMO systems.
