Opis:: Affine discrete-time control periodic systems are considered. The problem of global asymptotic stabilization of the zero equilibrium of the closed-loop system by state feedback is studied. It is assumed that the free dynamic system has the Lyapunov stable zero equilibrium. The method for constructing a damping control is extended from time-invariant systems to time varying periodic affine discrete-time systems. By using this approach, sufficient conditions for uniform global asymptotic stabilization for those systems are obtained. Examples of using the obtained results are presented.

Opis:: In this paper we consider a nonlinear model of a biological wastewater treatment process, based on two microbial populations and two substrates. The model, described by a four-dimensional dynamic system, is known to be practically verified and reliable. First we study the equilibrium points of the open-loop system, their stability and local bifurcations with respect to the control variable. Further we propose a feedback control law for asymptotic stabilization of the closed-loop system towards a previously chosen operating point. A numerical extremum seeking algorithm is designed to stabilize the dynamics towards the maximum methane output flow rate in the presence of coefficient uncertainties. Computer simulations in Maple are reported to illustrate the theoretical results.

Opis:: In this paper the stabilization problem of undamped second order system is considered. The stabilization by first order dynamic feedback is studied. The global asymptotic stability of the respectively closed-loop system is proved by LaSalle's theorem. As an example of application of the proposed method an electric ladder network L and Ic type is presented. Numerical calculations were made using the Matlab/Simulink program.

Opis:: The paper mitigates the existing conditions reported in the previous literature for control design of discrete-time linear positive systems. Incorporating an associated structure of linear matrix inequalities, combined with the Lyapunov inequality guaranteing asymptotic stability of discrete-time positive system structures, new conditions are presented with which the state-feedback controllers and the system state observers can be designed. Associated solutions of the proposed design conditions are illustrated by numerical illustrative examples.

Opis:: This paper is a contribution to the following question : consider the classical wave equation damped by a nonlinear feedback control which is only assumed to decrease the energy. Then, do solutions to the perturbed system still exist for all time? Does strong stability occur in the sense that the energy tends to zero as time tends to infinity? We prove here that the answer to both questions is positive in the specific case of the one-dimensional wave equation damped by boundary controls which are functions of the observed velocity. The main point is that no monotonicity assumption is made on the damping term.
