Opis:: Integrated general models of approximate approaches of complex multi-state series and parallel systems, linking their reliability and availability improvement models and their operation processes models caused changing reliability and safety structures and components reliability characteristics in different operations states, are constructed. These joint models are applied to determining improved reliability and availability characteristics of the considered multi-state series and parallel systems related to their varying in time operation processes. The conditional reliability characteristics of the multi-state systems with hot, cold single reservation of component and the conditional reliability characteristics of the multi-state systems with reduced rate of departure by a factor of system components are defined.

Opis:: Podnoszenie efektywności funkcjonowania systemów lotniczych dotyczy również ich systemów eksploatacji. Ocena obiektu technicznego (OT), w tym systemu utrzymania jego stanu zdatności (systemu obsługiwania), może być dokonana w oparciu o kryterium dostępności (gotowości), czyli zdolności do wykorzystania OT do realizacji nakazanego zadania, po wystąpieniu takiej potrzeby. Wskaźniki dostępności OT łączą w sobie trzy parametry: niezawodność, podatność obsługowa oraz efektywność systemu wsparcia (logistyki). Wspominana podatność obsługowa, charakteryzująca pracochłonność czynności obsługowych, jest podatna na modyfikacje. Dlatego zasadnym jest zbadanie możliwości „optymalizacji” systemu utrzymania stanu zdatności OT, w zakresie planowych obsług zapobiegawczych PM (Preventive Maintenance). W swoim referacie przedstawiłem przykład podniesienia poziomu dostępności OT przy wykorzystaniu metodologii RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), tj. metody doboru czynności obsługowych, pod katem ich odpowiedniości oraz efektywności dla zachowania istotnych funkcji OT. Podstawowym warunkiem stosowania RCM dla modyfikacji systemów obsługiwania OT jest bezwarunkowe zapewnienie: bezpieczeństwa eksploatacji, skuteczności realizacji wymaganego zadania oraz ekonomiki eksploatacji. Przy analizie niniejszego zagadnienia posłużyłem się przykładem systemu obsługiwania śmigłowca morskiego Mi-14PŁ. Ten statek powietrzny jest eksploatowany wg. strategii PBM (Preventive Based Maintenance) – planowych obsług zapobiegawczych. To powoduje, że jego obsługiwanie cechuje duża pracochłonność, wskaźnik MMFH (średniej pracochłonności obsług na godzinę nalotu) przekracza wartość 25 rh/h nalotu. Stosując RCM zaprezentowałem metodę zmniejszenia ww. pracochłonności obsług. Przy pomocy opracowanego modelu przedstawiłem sposób badania poziomu dostępności OT (śmigłowców). Pozytywną cechą metodologii RCM jest możliwość stosowania jej do OT (np. śmigłowców), będących już w eksploatacji. Daje to bardzo skuteczne narzędzie obniżania wskaźników pracochłonności obsługiwania i tym samym poprawy wskaźników dostępności dla śmigłowców od lat eksploatowanych wg. nieefektywnych strategii eksploatacji.
Improvement of effectiveness of aviation systems performance is related to their maintenance systems as well. The assessment of technical item (including its maintenance system) can be done from availability perspective, which means ability of the item to be ready to perform dedicated task, when it is needed. The availability combines three factors: reliability, maintainability and supportability. The mentioned maintainability as maintenance workload measure is able to be modified. So it is reasonable to research capability to optimize the preventive maintenance procedures for the item. In this paper I have presented example of improving item`s availability by utilizing RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) analysis. The RCM is a process of selection the most appropriate and effective maintenance actions to keep significant functions of the item. The basic rule of using RCM to modify maintenance system is unconditionally keeping for the item: high level of safety, effectiveness of performing dedicated task and economy of service. As an example of this topic I have analyzed Mi-14PŁ maritime helicopter maintenance system. Maintenance of this aircraft is based on Preventive Based Maintenance (PBM) strategy, which effects on very high workload rate for maintenance system – the value of its MMFH (Maintenance Manhours per Flight Hours) index is over 25 man-hours/flight hour. Applying RCM process I have shown the method of reduction of maintenance man – hours. Thanks to specially designed model I have presented the way of analysis of helicopter availability level. Very positive feature of RCM is its ability to be applied for technical items (for example helicopters) already being in service. It gives effective tool to reduce maintenance man-hours and improve availability rates, for helicopters which have been maintained in accordance with poor effective maintenance system for years.

Opis:: There is presented the application of the integrated software tools to the reliability of the improved exemplary complex technical system prediction. There are considered three ways of the exemplary system reliability improvement, i.e. a hot single reservation of its components, a cold single reservation of its components and replacing its components by the improved components with reduced intensities of departure from the reliability state subsets. Automatically obtained, using the computer program CP 8.16, the evaluations of these ways improved exemplary system unconditional multistate reliability function, the expected values and the standard deviations of its unconditional lifetimes in the reliability state subsets and the mean values of its lifetimes in the particular reliability states are presented. Moreover, in the case when the improved system is repairable, its renewal and availability characteristics are estimated using the computer program CP 8.8 with appropriately given data.

Opis:: Paper presents the methodology of shaping dependability of devices used in process with use key performance indicators for increasing Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) which are a subject of devices' parameters monitoring under operation. Value of Overall Equipment Efficiency describes the technical state of devices included into production process. Value itself can be different for different production lines even in one industry. For engineers it is important to put all possible effort to increasing values of particular key performance indicators which are building Overall Equipment Efficiency. Values of particular key performance indicators, shows to experienced engineer real technical state of whole production line. Presented in paper selected indicators are connected and have influence for each other, moreover operation parameters of devices' are characterizing production process. Key performance indicators presented in paper represents three the most important aspects of the production process: handling of the process, operators' area of responsibility, management of the process, managers' area of responsibility and optimization of the process, planners' area of responsibility. Only proper cooperation of these three groups of people can benefits requested result. From owners point of view, presented areas have the same importance, problems created in one of them can negatively influence for overall income of whole enterprise.

Opis:: Many universities in Poland are based in historic buildings. As public facilities, they must have accessibility for people with disabilities. Therefore, historic buildings undergo regular reconstruction to ensure accessibility on the basis of technical and construction regulations and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. For the purpose of the study, those with exceptional architectural, cultural and historical are presented. The article is concerned with determining the current state of accessibility of selected Polish universities for students with mobility disabilities. The first part of the paper deals with the verification of the background material in the form of statistical data and support programmes for the studied group of users. The second part presents historical information about the historic buildings along with a qualitative analysis of the elements already applied to eliminate architectural barriers. Nine selected historical teaching facilities located both in Warsaw and scattered throughout the country were analysed using the field observation method. The conclusion presents the results indicating the application in the realizations of the principle of rational improvement stating that the preservation of historic value can become paramount to ensuring full accessibility. Still, monuments should be treated individually, and the same applies to disabilities, where each is different and requires individual perception and treatment.

Opis:: Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) is a key indicator to measure the effectiveness of production systems. This paper aims to evaluate and improve a plastic production line based on OEE evaluation. An integrated framework is proposed to enhance the production system efficiency. This paper presents the data for a Plastic production line in Jordan under real working conditions. The data covers three months. A framework process to improve the OEE of the Plastic production system was proposed. Six major stoppage losses were inspected with the help of Pareto analysis. Furthermore, the actual availability, efficiency, and quality rate measures, together with the whole OEE for each working day, week, and month of the production line were shown. The methodology is based on determining the OEE of a Plastic production line after determining the causes of failures. The fishbone diagram tool is used to determine the root causes of failures. To improve the OEE measure, several losses are identified. The results reveal that the company should improve its policy to improve the production line’s performance and reduce losses. Top management should also pay attention to reducing the speed losses, which consist of 58.1%, and eliminate the planned and unscheduled disruptions covering 12.73% of all losses. This can be achieved by establishing a proper operation management procedure and strategy. This, in turn, optimized the equipment’s effectiveness. The quality procedure should include the changeover program that may be executed every day. Similarly, all preventive maintenance procedures for the six machines should be properly executed in predetermined intervals. There are several limitations in the research. Firstly, the research case study is only the plastic production system. Secondly, the research is related to the downtime or stoppage by analyzing it using fishbone diagram. Further, supported by other techniques such as the Pareto chart, six big losses analyses and CED. This research conducted on a Plastic industry. However, similar studies can be carried out in future in other manufacturing industries like electronic, pharmaceutical, textile industries, etc., and service industry. However, as future research work the contributions of this paper with other lean manufacturing concept like six sigma, quality function deployment, TQM, and just-in-time manu-facturing, can also be conducting to assess the overall production line efficiency. On the other hand, several statistical tests can be implemented based on data collected of TPM performance indicators. The proposed method supports policymakers in their decision-making process on the operations management line. Further-more, it improves the production systems’ productivity quality, and performance, reducing unplanned stop-pages and breakdowns, and reducing maintenance costs.
