Opis:: A bibliometric analysis of TASK Quarterly in the years 1997-2021 in terms of various bibliometric indicators was performed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the journal. The number of publications and citations increased over the mentioned span of years. The leading countries in terms of the greatest number of papers published in TASK Quarterly are Poland, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, USA and Russia. Moreover, it is shown that international collaboration can result in a greater number of citations per publication. The average publication time in TASK Quarterly is 77 days, including the average submission-acceptance time (44 days) and the average acceptance publication time (33 days). Based on the author’s findings, it can be seen that although TASK Quarterly is a journal devoted mainly to physical and computer sciences, many publications also focus on the aspects related to mathematics, biomedical engineering and biophysics. CFD, molecular dynamics, the finite element method (FEM) and numerical simulations are the most frequently used keywords in articles published in TASK Quarterly.

Opis:: The academic community was and still is a community of scholars taking various positions. Problematic was and still is the changing of ways we set these positions in both, in relation to a long lasting academic tradition and in a much shorter period of academic activity of particular scholars. Some of these ways did show in a greater extent its own usability and some in lesser. In these remarks I make the attempt to point out those who did work out well and in some way still do and which ones should be history by now. However it is not all. Relatively recently ways of positioning of scholars occurred that are in some perspectives innovative and widely applied (also in Poland). Nevertheless they do have in the academic millieu its followers and radical opponents. The bibliometric positioning of scholars is one of those ways.

Tytuł:: Bibliography of Italian studies in Poland : project description and statistics

Opis:: The aim of the ‘Bibliography of Italian Studies in Poland’ project (BISP) is to create a complete data base of scientific publications written by scholars employed at Italian Studies departments/sections of Polish higher education institutions. This article presents a detailed description of the project and the results of a thorough bibliographic analysis of the publications included in BISP, which encompass texts from three disciplines: linguistics, literary studies and culture and religious studies. The analysed data concern the publications of Italian Studies researchers who are currently active at Polish universities (149 monographs, 113 edited volumes, 1,151 papers in journals and 1,415 chapters in collected monographs; the total of 2,828 publications, written by 145 authors). Our objective is to identify any discernible trends in terms of publishing research results by the analysed group of researchers.

Opis:: Research on gamification shows that it has positive impacts on learning, performance, motivation, and engagement. To have a big picture on gamification research in higher education, a combination of bibliometric and thematic analysis was conducted. For this study, a total of 432 documents from 2010 to 2020 which have been indexed in Web of Science database are investigated. Additionally, the researchers analyzed a group of 10 articles to review how much contribution they had to the body of research. General tendencies in the way gamification has been changing or developing in academic literature were scrutinized from the perspective of a variety of different factors including the time the works were published; the areas of the research field; and the authors, organizations, countries, and co-authorship publishing the most number of works in the issue. The possible future applications and results for educational organizations and academicians, top academic decision-makers, and educationists are discussed.

Opis:: The purpose of this article is to indicate, based on publications in the field of 'dysfunctional customer behaviour', the items most often cited and essential for the researchers who cite them, as well as to introduce the topics and their relationships that represent the conceptual space of 'dysfunctional customer behaviour'. The indicated objective will be realised on the basis of selected bibliometric analyses. A set of 74 items resulting from searches in two databases-Web of Science and Scopus-were used for the analyses. Based on the created database of publications in the area of 'dysfunctional customer behaviour', three analyses were carried out: citations, co-citations and co-occurrence of words. The results of the bibliometric analyses made it possible to identify the group of most frequently cited publications, isolate those that are important to the citing researchers, and approximate the topics and their relationships that represent the conceptual space of 'dysfunctional customer behaviour'.

Opis:: The issue of stability controlling cutting slopes is particularly important in clay-shale slopes, a typical expanding sedimentary layer with poor engineering geological conditions and mechanical characteristics. Therefore, research on the causes of failure and remedies for clay-shale cutting slopes is required to serve as an overview for handling and preserving clay-shale slopes in identical conditions. However, the trusted information about the need for further related clay shale research and clay shale in slope stability has yet to be specifically presented. This review study summarizes the published research for clay shale beginning in 1980, presents a bibliometric analysis to examine the published research based on year and country, and provides various study trends in cluster diagram using the VOSviewer program. The analysis also summarized some key goals, effective methodology, and significant findings from the most recent studies to extract information from them that would benefit future research. In conclusion, the results show the need for developing research to fill the knowledge gap regarding clay shale, landslide, and clay mineralogy. In addition, the clay shale slope analysis has revealed the need for additional research into dynamic force and its deformation.

Opis:: This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of ecotourism literature in the period from 2002 to 2022 using VOSviewer software. 1,693 articles indexed by Scopus were analyzed. The results reveal that ecotourism is a developing research field that attracts scholars from many countries. Most of the articles were published in the United States, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The study identified four main thematic areas: (a) the involvement of local communities and stakeholders in ecotourism management and development in protected areas; (b) ecotourists’ perceptions, attitudes and behaviours; (c) the use of technology and environmental management to support ecotourism development planning and management; and (d) biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in ecotourism. This study suggests that decision-making based on data, stakeholder participation and climate adaptation in the planning and management of ecotourism is attracting the attention of researchers worldwide.

Opis:: This paper uses a co-citation analysis to examine the research on L2 vocabulary acquisition that was published in 1985. This year seems to mark a kind of transition in the field. Unlike the earlier years analysed in this series of papers, 1985 shows signs of a coherent L2 vocabulary research front developing. The number of papers that qualify for inclusion is much greater than in previous years, and the analysis suggests that recognisable research themes are beginning to be clearly articulated.

Opis:: This paper uses a co-citation analysis to examine the research on L2 vocabulary acquisition that was published in 1986. This year seems to mark a serious consolidation of L2 vocabulary research, with the main themes of future research appearing. The paper also reports a larger analysis of all the work that appeared in a five-year window from 1982-1986. This analysis clearly shows the beginnings of a recognisable research focus on L2 vocabulary acquisition, though this work is influenced by some surprising sources, who do not figure in more recent work in the field.

Opis:: This paper provides an overview of scientific and patent publications in furniture design and their connections from 1972-2020. The scientific publications were searched in the Scopus database, while the number of patent documents available in The Lens database was an indicator of the innovations in furniture. 1,465 scientific publications and 2,880,188 patent documents were identified. The results show that: authors from China and the USA published the largest number of scientific works, authors from the USA are the most often cited, there are 15 outstanding institutions from which the authors of the largest number of analyzed articles come, i.a.: University of Zagreb (Croatia), Poznań University of Life Sciences (Poland), Central South University of Forestry & Technology (China), Wood Technology Institute (Poland), Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) and others. The analysis of co-authorship shows cooperation in four groups of countries: (1) Brazil-Netherlands-Portugal, (2) the United States and a wide group of cooperating countries, (3) China-UK-Japan, and (4) Croatia-Poland-Turkey. The annual number of scientific publications and patent documents are strongly correlated. The increase in the number of scientific publications is much more than the increase in the number of patent documents. The statistical Granger causality test does not predict the patent documents' annual number trend by the scientific publications time series. The results presented in this article may facilitate scientific cooperation in "furniture design" showing leading authors and institutions.
