Opis:: The selectivity of some pesticides and bioregulators to the predatory mite Typhlodromus pyri (Phytoseiidae) was evaluated under laboratory and field conditions. Most of the tested preparations were classified as selective for T. pyri. This group includes fungicides: Tercel 16 WG (dithianon + pyraclostrobin), Flint Plus 64 WG (captan + trifloxystrobin), Signum 33 WG (boscalid + pyraclostrobin), Switch 62.5 WG (cyprodinil + fludioxonil), Captan 80 WG (captan), Topsin 500 SC (thiophanate-methyl), insecticides: Coragen 200 SC (chlorantraniliprole), Movento 100 SC (spirotetramat), Teppeki 50 WG (flonicamid), Agricolle (concentrated polysaccharide suspension), acaricides: Envidor 240 SC (spirodiclofen), Zoom 110 SC (etoxazole), bioregulator Asahi SL (sodium salts of 5-nitroguaiacolate as well as ortho- and paranitrophenolates), Regalis 10 WG (prohexadione-calcium) and herbicide Roundup 360 SL (glyphosate). A slightly higher mortality rate of predatory mites was found after the application of fungicides Kaptan Plus 71,5 WP (captan + triadimenol) and Frupica 440 EC (mepanipyrim). Fungicides: Dithane NeoTec 75 WG (mancozeb), Faban 500 SC (dithianon + pyrimethanil), Polyram 70 WG (metiram), insecticide Calypso 480 SC (thiacloprid) were classified as partially selective for phytoseiids. The insecticides Decis Mega 50 EW (deltamethrin), Acaramic 018 EC (abamectin) and the herbicide Basta 150 SL (glufosinate-ammonium) were highly toxic to the predatory mite T. pyri.

Opis:: Background. The aim of the study was an assessment of the effect of using various sowing methods and types of applied biostimulators on pre-dormancy plant habit as well as on overwintering of three types of winter rape cultivars. Material and methods. A field experiment was carried out in a split-split-plot design in three replications. The studied factors included: I – three cultivars of winter rape: Monolit (population cultivar), PR 44D06 (restored hybrid cultivar with a semi-dwarf type of growth), PT 205 (restored hybrid cultivar with a conventional type of growth); II – two sowing methods: row spacing of 22.5 cm (row sowing – sowing density of 60 seeds per 1 $m^2$), row spacing of 45.0 cm (single seed sowing – sowing density of 40 seeds per 1 $m^2$); III – three types of applied biostimulators: control variant (without an application of biostimulators), Tytanit® biostimulator, Asahi ®SL biostimulator, Silvit ® biostimulator. Results. Biostimulators applied in the experiment affected an increase in the number of leaves per rosette, root collar diameter, height of elevation of shoot apex as well as taproot length compared with the control plot. The highest values of morphological traits of plants determined in autumn before inhibition of growth as well as plants most complete winter survival were obtained under conditions of spraying with Asahi SL biostimulator, applied at the stage BBCH 13-15. The population cultivar overwintered better in comparison to the two heterotic cultivars, produced rosettes with a higher number of leaves (on average 8.4 leaves), a thicker root collar (on average 7.9 mm), as well as a longer taproot (on average 17.3 cm).The smallest plant losses occurred in cultivar Monolit after winter dormancy. Sowing method did not affect this trait of plant habit. Conclusion. Asahi SL biostimulator significantly affected an increase in all morphological traits of the leaf rosette determined in autumn before inhibition of growth, when compared with the control variant. The restored hybrid morphotypes: PR 44D06 and PT 205, compared with the population cultivar Monolit, were characterized by a poorer autumn development of the leaf rosette. Diversified climatic conditions in the autumn-summer periods of vegetation and in the winter dormancy in the years of the research affected plant habit.
Celem badań była ocena wpływu stosowania różnych sposobów siewu i rodzajów stosowanych biostymulatorów na przedspoczynkowy pokrój roślin oraz zimowanie trzech typów odmian rzepaku ozimego. Doświadczenie polowe przeprowadzono w układzie split-split-plot w trzech powtórzeniach. Badanymi czynnikami były: I – trzy odmiany rzepaku ozimego: Monolit (odmiana populacyjna), PR 44D06 (odmiana mieszańcowa zrestorowana o półkarłowym typie wzrostu), PT 205 (odmiana mieszańcowa zrestorowana o tradycyjnym typie wzrostu); II – dwa sposoby siewu: rozstawa 22,5 cm (siew rzędowy – gęstość siewu 60 nasion na 1 m2), rozstawa 45,0 cm (siew punktowy – gęstość siewu 40 nasion na 1 m2); III – trzy rodzaje stosowanych biostymulatorów: wariant kontrolny (bez stosowania biostymulatorów), biostymulator Tytanit®, biostymulator Asahi®SL, biostymulator Silvit®. Zastosowane w doświadczeniu biostymulatory wpływały na zwiększenie liczby liści rozetowych, średnicy szyjki korzeniowej, wysokości wyniesienia stożka wzrostu oraz długości korzenia palowego w porównaniu z poletkami kontrolnymi. Największe wartości cech morfologicznych roślin oznaczonych jesienią przed zahamowaniem wegetacji oraz najpełniejsze ich przezimowanie otrzymano w warunkach opryskiwania biostymulatorem Asahi SL, aplikowanym w stadium BBCH 13-15. Odmiana populacyjna w porównaniu z heterozyjnymi lepiej zimowała, tworzyła rozety o większej liczbie liści (średnio 8,4 szt.), grubszej szyjce korzeniowej (średnio 7,9 mm) oraz dłuższy korzeń palowy (średnio 17,3 cm). U odmiany tej wystąpiły najmniejsze straty roślin po zimowym spoczynku. Sposoby siewu nie wpływały na cechy pokroju roślin. Biostymulator Asahi SL wpływał istotnie na zwiększenie wszystkich cech morfologicznych rozety liściowej oznaczonych jesienią przed zahamowaniem wegetacji w porównaniu z wariantem kontrolnym. Morfotypy mieszańcowe zrestorowane: PR 44D06 i PT 205 w porównaniu z odmianą populacyjną Monolit odznaczały się słabszym jesiennym rozwojem rozety liściowej. Zróżnicowane warunki klimatyczne panujące w okresach letnio-jesiennej wegetacji i zimowego spoczynku w latach prowadzenia badań wpływały na pokrój roślin.

Opis:: Background. In plant production, reaching high and good quality yields of cultivated plants is achieved mostly thanks to the ability to counteract the occurrence of stress and the amendment of damage caused by stress . The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the applied biostimulator types and the sowing methods on the filed architecture elements of three winter rapeseed cultivars. Material and methods. Field experiment was carried out in years 2013-2016 at the Agricultural Experimental Station in Zawady (52o 03' N; 22o 33' E), which is part of the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce, Poland. The experiment was carried out in a split-split-plot design in three repetitions. The studied factors were: I – winter rapeseed cultivar: Monolit (open-pollinated), PR44D06 (restored hybrid of semidwarf growth type), and PT205 (restored hybrid of traditional growth type); II – sowing method: row sowing (row spacing 22.5 cm, sowing density 60 seeds per $1 m^2$), single-seed sowing (row spacing 45.0 cm, sowing density 40 seeds per $1 m^2$); III – types of the applied biostimulators: control (no biostimulators), Tytanit®, Asahi®SL, and Silvit®. Results. Research demonstrated significant effect of the applied biostimulator types and the sowing method on the biometric plant characteristics before harvest, such as: plant density, plant height, stem thickness at the base, first productive branch placement. The greatest plant height was found in the restored morphotype of traditional growth type and in the open-pollinated cultivar, whereas the highest first productive branch placement in cultivar PT205. Restored hybrids PT205 and PR44D06 were characterized by greater stem thickness at the base in comparison with the open-pollinated morphotype. Conclusion. Biostimulator Asahi SL had the greatest effect on plant density, plant height, stem thickness at the base, and first productive branch placement, whilst biostimulator Tytanit had the lowest effect. Applied bioregulator types did not affect canopy lodging. Sowing method significantly affected stem thickness at the base, although it did not significantly affect canopy lodging. Genetic factor did not determine plant number established before harvest or changes in canopy lodging. Diversified weather conditions in the study years affected the studied elements of field architecture.
Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie wpływu rodzajów stosowanych biostymulatorów oraz sposobów siewu na elementy architektury łanu trzech odmian rzepaku ozimego. Doświadczenie polowe przeprowadzono w latach 2013–2016 w Rolniczej Stacji Doświadczalnej Zawady (52 o 03' N; 22 o 33' E), należącej do Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczo-Humanistycznego w Siedlcach. Eksperyment przeprowadzono w układzie split-split-plot w trzech powtórzeniach. Badanymi czynnikami były: I – odmiana uprawna rzepaku ozimego: Monolit (populacyjna), PR44D06 (mieszańcowa zrestorowana o półkarłowym typie wzrostu), PT205 (mieszańcowa zrestorowana o tradycyjnym typie wzrostu); II – sposób siewu: siew rzędowy (rozstawa rzędów 22,5 cm, gęstość siewu 60 nasion na $1 m^2$), siew punktowy (rozstawa 45,0 cm, gęstość siewu 40 nasion na $1 m^2$); III – rodzaje stosowanych biostymulatorów: wariant kontrolny (bez stosowania biostymulatorów), biostymulator Tytanit®, biostymulator Asahi®SL, biostymulator Silvit®. Badania wykazały istotny wpływ rodzajów stosowanych biostymulatorów oraz sposobów siewu na cechy biometryczne roślin oznaczone przed zbiorem takie jak: obsada, wysokość roślin, grubość łodygi u nasady, wysokość osadzenia pierwszego rozgałęzienia produktywnego. Największą wysokość roślin stwierdzono w morfotypie zrestorowanym o tradycyjnym typie wzrostu i odmianie populacyjnej, zaś wysokość do pierwszego rozgałęzienia produktywnego u PT205. Mieszańce zrestorowane PT205 i PR44D06 cechowała większa grubość łodygi u nasady w porównaniu z morfotypem populacyjnym. Biostymulator Asahi SL wywierał największy wpływ na obsadę roślin, wysokość roślin, grubość łodygi u nasady, wysokość osadzenia do pierwszego rozgałęzienia produktywnego, zaś najmniejszy – Tytanit. Rodzaje stosowanych bioregulatorów nie determinowały ugięcia łanu. Sposób siewu istotnie kształtował grubość łodygi u nasady, jednak nie oddziaływał istotnie na ugięcie łanu. Czynnik genetyczny nie determinował liczby roślin oznaczonej przed zbiorem oraz zmian w ugięciu łanu. Wartości badanych elementów architektury łanu zależały istotnie od warunków klimatycznych panujących w latach prowadzenia doświadczenia.

Opis:: Background. The use of natural growth stimulants is becoming an increasingly common practice in agriculture. Biostimulants favourably affect the plant growth and development and increase the resistance of plants to the adverse effects of various stress factors. The aim of the study was to estimate the effect of types of the applied biostimulators and sowing methods on the number of productive tillers, the number of pods per plant, the length of pods and the number of seeds per pod in three cultivars of winter oilseed rape. Material and methods. A field experiment was carried out in 2013–2016 at the Agricultural Experimental Station in Zawady (52 o03' N; 22o 33' E) which belongs to the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce, Poland. The experiment was conducted in a split-split-plot design with three replications. The studied factors included: I – three cultivars of winter oilseed rape: Monolit (population cultivar), PR44D06 (restored hybrid cultivar with a semi-dwarf type of growth), PT205 (restored hybrid cultivar with a traditional type of growth); II – two sowing methods: row spacing of 22.5 cm (row sowing – sowing rate of 60 seeds per $1 m^2$), row spacing 45.0 cm (single seed sowing – sowing rate of 40 seeds per $1 m^2$); III – three types of applied biostimulants: control variant (without the application of biostimulants), biostimulant Tytanit®, biostimulant Asahi ®SL, biostimulant Silvit ®. Results. The present study showed a significant effect of the types of biostimulants used on the seed yield components. Sowing methods did not cause significant changes in the seed yield components, such as: the length of pods, the number of seeds per pod. Differences between the cultivars in the pod length were statistically insignificant. Diversified humidity and thermal conditions prevailing in the years of conducting the experiment significantly affected the seed yield components. Conclusion. Under the influence of the biostimulant Asahi SL, there was a significant increase in the number of productive tillers, the number of pods per plant, the length of pods, the number of seeds per pod compared to the control variant. In the wider row spacing there was a greater number of productive tillers and pods per plant. The long-stemmed cultivar PT205 compared to the semi-dwarf PR44D06 and the population Monolith formed more productive tillers and pods per plant, while the restored hybrids possessed significantly more seeds per pod compared to the traditional cultivar. The highest values of the examined characteristics were recorded in the growing season 2013-2014, distinguished by the best pluvio-thermal conditions during spring and summer oilseed rape development.
Stosowanie naturalnych stymulatorów wzrostu staje się coraz powszechniejszą praktyką w rolnictwie. Biostymulatory wpływają korzystnie na wzrost i rozwój roślin oraz zwiększają odporność roślin na niekorzystne oddziaływanie różnych czynników stresowych. Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie wpływu rodzajów stosowanych biostymulatorów oraz sposobów siewu na liczbę rozgałęzień produktywnych, liczbę łuszczyn na roślinie, długość łuszczyn oraz liczbę nasion w łuszczynie w trzech odmianach rzepaku ozimego. Doświadczenie polowe przeprowadzono w latach 2013–2016 w Rolniczej Stacji Doświadczalnej – Zawady (52 o 03' N; 22o33' E), należącej do Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczo-Humanistycznego w Siedlcach. Eksperyment przeprowadzono w układzie split-split-plot w trzech powtórzeniach. Różnice między odmianami w długości łuszczyn były statystycznie nieistotne. Zróżnicowane warunki wilgotnościowo-termiczne panujące w latach prowadzenia doświadczenia wpływały istotnie na komponenty składowe plonu nasion. Pod wpływem biostymulatora Asahi SL zanotowano istotne zwiększenie liczby rozgałęzień produktywnych, liczby łuszczyn na roślinie, długości łuszczyn, liczby nasion w łuszczynie w porównaniu do wariantu kontrolnego. W szerszej rozstawie międzyrzędzi zanotowano większą liczbę rozgałęzień produktywnych i łuszczyn na roślinie. Odmiana długołodygowa PT205 w porównaniu do półkarłowej PR44D06 i populacyjnej Monolit tworzyła więcej rozgałęzień produktywnych i łuszczyn na roślinie, mieszańce zrestorowane miały istotnie więcej nasion w łuszczynie w stosunku do odmiany tradycyjnej. Największe wartości badanych cech odnotowano w sezonie wegetacyjnym 2013–2014 wyróżniającym się najlepszymi warunkami pluwio-termalnymi podczas wiosenno-letniego rozwoju rzepaku.
