Opis:: The topic of the article concerns supports (abutments and pillars) used in makeshift reconstruction of railway bridges. The causes determining difficulties in the construction of supports for makeshift bridges are listed. The following supports are discussed in terms of construction and assembly technology: wooden supports (from the so-called cages, piles, frame and frame-pile, flat and flat and frame as well as wooden splines), steel (pile, frame), as well as concrete and reinforced concrete. Attention was drawn to the necessity of making attempts to use the remaining supports, or fragments of permanent supports to the greatest possible extent.

The article presents the classification of water obstacles in terms of the difficulty with which they are crossed with military crossing and bridging equipment. It discusses three types of equipment: - support bridges, - self-propelled and transported pontoon parks (ferries and amphibious rigs), - foldable bridges, and their employment as needed.

Opis:: W przedstawianym artykule opisano przypadek uszkodzeń betonu w nawodnych podporach mostu hydraulicznego odpopielania w jednej z elektrowni. Dokonanie oceny przyczyn zniszczenia betonu, jak i określenie możliwości wystąpienia w nim zjawisk korozyjnych, a więc w konsekwencji prognozowania trwałości obiektu budowlanego oraz wybór, na tej podstawie, właściwej procedury naprawczo-renowacyjnej wymagało przeprowadzenia szeregu niezbędnych badań i analiz. I tak, w omawianym przypadku, przeprowadzono kompleksowe badania na obiekcie i badania na próbkach betonu wyciętych, w postaci odwiertów rdzeniowych, z uszkodzonej konstrukcji (m.in. makroskopowe, mikroskopowe SEM, XRD, DTA, analizy chemiczne). W oparciu o te badania ustalono rodzaje korozji odpowiedzialne za analizowane zniszczenia.
The article describes a case of concrete damage in waterway supports of a hydraulic bridge for ash removal in one of power plants. Assessment of concrete destruction causes, as well as determination of the possibility of corrosion occurring in the concrete, and therefore, as a consequence of forecasting the durability of the construction facility and selection of appropriate repair and renovation procedure, required a number of necessary tests and analyses. In the discussed case, comprehensive tests on the facility and on concrete samples, cut out of the damaged construction in the form of cored boreholes (including macroscopic, microscopic, SEM, XRD, DTA tests and chemical analyses) were carried out. Based on these tests, the types of corrosion responsible for the analysed damage were determined.

Opis:: Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień związanych z pracą statyczną poprzecznic w kolejowych mostach stalowych z otwartym pomostem. Przedstawiono problem zwiększonego wytężenia i odkształcenia poprzecznic od sił poziomych, wywołanych zmianą długości pasów dźwigarów głównych i sił hamowania pojazdów. Na przykładzie mostu kolejowego przez rzekę Wartę w Sieradzu omówiono charakterystyczne dla tego zjawiska uszkodzenia elementów jezdni mostu oraz sposób ich naprawy, z zastosowaniem indywidualnie zaprojektowanych łożysk, umożliwiających przegubowo przesuwne oparcie podłużnic na poprzecznicach.
This article deals with issues related to the static work of floor beams in open-deck steel railway bridges. The problem of increased strain and deformation of floor beams from horizontal forces caused by the change of the length of the main girders and the braking force of the vehicles is presented. The example of a bridge over the Warta River in Sieradz is characterized by the characteristic damage to the bridge carriageway components and the way they are repaired, using individually designed steel bearings to enable the sliding support of the stringers on the cross members.

Opis:: In this paper, a semi-analytical approach is proposed for free vibration analysis of a multi-span, orthotropic bridge deck with rubber bearings. This allows more realistic modeling of vibration transmission from a bridge’s deck to its supports. The approach is based on modal superposition incorporating intermodal coupling. The bridge deck was modeled as a continuous, multi-span, orthotropic rectangular plate with equivalent rigidities. The rubber bearings were inserted between the girders and rigid supports to absorb traffic induced vibrations. The rubber bearing was modeled by linear elastic, vertical supports as very flexible in rotation and highly rigid in the vertical direction. The method’s efficacy was validated against two numerical examples. The absolute error was less than 10%.

Opis:: W kraju i za granicą powstaje wiele obiektów usługowych i hal sportowych z drewna klejonego. Konstrukcje te stosuje się również do kładek dla pieszych i obiektów mostowych na pełne obciążenia drogowe. Są to głównie konstrukcje typu belkowego, które oprócz obciążeń stałych, znajdują się pod wpływem obciążeń zmiennych. Najbardziej newralgicznym miejscem w takich belkach są strefy podporowe, zwłaszcza strefy docisku miejscowego w poprzek włókien.
In Poland and in other countries, many service buildings and sports halls are built of glued timber. Such constructions are also used for footbridges and fully-loaded road bridges. They are mainly beam-type structures, which are subject to both constant and variable loads. The most critical place in such beams are the support zones, particularly zones with local pressure across the fibres.

Opis:: Structural health monitoring (SHM) of bridges is constantly upgraded by researchers and bridge engineers as it directly deals with bridge performance and its safety over a certain time period. This article addresses some issues in the traditional SHM systems and the reason for moving towards an automated monitoring system. In order to automate the bridge assessment and monitoring process, a mechanism for the linkage of Digital Twins (DT) and Machine Learning (ML), namely the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm, is discussed in detail. The basis of this mechanism lies in the collection of data from the real bridge using sensors and is providing the basis for the establishment and calibration of the digital twin. Then, data analysis and decision-making processes are to be carried out through regression-based ML algorithms. So, in this study, both ML brain and a DT model are merged to support the decision-making of the bridge management system and predict or even prevent further damage or collapse of the bridge. In this way, the SHM system cannot only be automated but calibrated from time to time to ensure the safety of the bridge against the associated damages.
