Opis:: The poetic texts of priest Pasierb present a peculiar sensitivity to the names of colours. The author of Koziorożec ( Capricorn ) paid particular attention to the role of light, hence his works present a separate category of expressions regarding light and darkness, flash and brightness. It is the result of, among others, the culturallyconditioned evaluation of light and dark and the related axiological attitude towards the world. Also present are numerous lexemes situated in the lexical field of, for instance, red, yellow, golden, blue, black and white. The collected material shows that the names of colours present in Pasierb’s works do not so much name reality as co-create the mood of particular texts, creating as a result a set of delicate poetic impressions.

Opis:: Calcium carbonate is used as an additive in the production of paper and some other production processes. The aim of this study was to determine the chances of the calcite sample to be mechanically cleaned of impurities, so that the material can become commercially interesting, primarily to be sold to the paper and other-related industries. A mineralogical petrographic investigation carried out on a sample of calcite showed that an unfavorable impurity is, in particular, graphite – which is otherwise fairly easily to remove by flotation. Flotation was performed with samples of different particle size. The purpose of this was to find an optimal particle size for carrying out the flotation. In order to achieve an effective flotation results it is first necessary to achieve a proper liberation of grains. The second part of the study was to explore the optimal sequence of treatment procedures for tested calcite, using milling, flotation, and sedimentation.

Opis:: The results of field soil-and-geobotanical research study of the pastures near settlement Lepsy located in the desert area of the Almaty region are shown. The particularities of the climatic conditions for the formation of desert pastures in Southern Balkhash area are described. The characteristics of the plant cover of the pastures and the graybrown soils formed under them are provided. The effects of long unsystematic use of the pastures in the conditions of the growth of concentrated grazing areas near settlements on the degradation of the plant and soil covers have been identified, and four stages of degradation have been outlined by seven indicators. In determining the boundaries, the spectrometric characteristics of the surface of the pastures in the spectrum of near-infrared (600–750 nm), blue (400–500 nm), and red (500–600 nm) bands were used.

Opis:: Therapeutic and surgical applications of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) require monitoring of local temperature rises induced inside tissues. It is needed to appropriately target the focal plane, and hence the whole focal volume inside the tumor tissue, prior to thermo-ablative treatment, and the beginning of tissue necrosis. In this study we present an ultrasound method, which calculates the variations of the speed of sound in the locally heated tissue. Changes in velocity correspond to temperature change. The method calculates a 2D distribution of changes in the sound velocity, by estimation of the local phase shifts of RF echo-signals backscattered from the heated tissue volume (the focal volume of the HIFU beam), and received by an ultrasound scanner (23). The technique enabled temperature imaging of the heated tissue volume from the very inception of heating. The results indicated that the contrast sensitivity for imaging of relative changes in the sound speed was on the order of 0.06%; corresponding to an increase in the tissue temperature by about 2 °C.

Opis:: Celem badań było wykorzystanie pomiarów kolorymetrycznych do analizy barwy w systemie CIE XYZ, układzie L*C*h° i systemie CIELAB wybranych preparatów białek mleka i serwatki w proszku, które charakteryzowały się zróżnicowaną zawartością laktozy od 0,3% do 80,9% i białka w granicach od 10,8% do 90,6%. Największe zróżnicowanie jasności i współrzędnych trójchromatyczności odpowiadające zróżnicowaniu badanych produktów pod względem składu otrzymano w systemie CIELAB. Najbardziej jasnymi próbkami na podstawie indeksu oddalenia od bieli WI były: izolat białek serwatkowych, odtłuszczone i pełne mleko w proszku oraz koncentrat białek serwatkowych o największym udziale białka. Stopień nasycenia barwy serwatki w proszku i serwatki demineralizowanej w proszku był 2,4-krotnie większy od pozostałych próbek i wyniósł C*śr=36,92(-). Różnica barwy pomiędzy próbką koncentratu białek serwatkowych WPC 80 i izolatem białek serwatkowych AE=5,40, powinna być zauważalna przez obserwatora, a nie znalazła odzwierciedlenia w wynikach sensorycznej oceny jasności i nasycenia barwy.
The aim of the study was the use of colorimetric measurements to analyze the colors in the CIE XYZ system L*C*h° and the CIELAB system, certain preparations of milk protein and whey powder, which were characterized by diverse lactose from 0.3% to 80.9% and protein in the range of 10.8% to 90.6%. The largest difference in brightness and trichromaticity coordinates corresponding to the tested product differentiation in terms of composition was prepared in the CIELAB system. The most clear samples on the basis of an index of remoteness from white WI were: whey protein isolate, skimmed and whole milk powder and whey protein concentrate with the highest proportion of protein. The degree of saturation of whey powder and demineralized whey powder was 2.4-fold more of the other samples and was C*=36.92(-). Color difference between the sample whey protein concentrate WPC 80 and whey protein isolate AE=5.40 should be noticeable by the observer and not reflected in the results of sensory evaluation of brightness and saturation.

Opis:: W pracach fotogrametrycznych mamy do czynienia ze zdjęciami o różnej jakości radiometrycznej. Najczęściej występujące zniekształcenia radiometryczne związane są z winietowaniem. Ogólniej można to zjawisko określić jako radialne zniekształcenia radiometryczne. Są one istotne, gdy efektem prac ma być wizualizacja obrazów terenu a w szczególności wykonanie ortofotomapy. Dlatego „Zasady wykonywania prac fotolotniczych” zawierają wymóg usuwania tych zniekształceń, co zapewnienia jednorodność rozkładów wartości kolorów na zdjęciu. W pracy opisany został matematyczny model tych zniekształceń. Przedstawione zostały wybrane przykłady zdjęć wymagających korekcji. Przedstawione zostały wykresy zmian poziomów cyfrowych pikseli, funkcje korygujące oraz rezultaty korekcji. Matematyczny model radialnych korekcji radiometrycznych zbudowany został w układzie współrzędnych biegunowych. W tym też układzie wyznaczono rozkłady wartości kolorów. Ostatecznie funkcje korygujące są funkcjami liniowymi, w których zmienną niezależną jest odległość od środka obrazu. Do badań posłużyły zeskanowane zdjęcia analogowe okolic Aalborga z roku 2002 wykonane kamerą LC 0015. W celu przeprowadzenia eksperymentów, analiz oraz wykonania korekcji opracowano odpowiednie algorytmy, które oprogramowano w języku Java. Przedstawione opracowanie rozwiązuje wybrane szczególne przypadki korekcji radiometrycznych zdjęcia lotniczego. Oczywiście należy rozważyć również przypadki korekcji zdjęć bloków o różnym pokryciu, korekcji liniowych w różnych kierunkach, korekcji nieliniowych oraz korekcji lokalnychw wybranych obszarach. Dotychczas nie ma idealnych rozwiązań stąd należy sądzić, że tematyka ta znajdzie zainteresowanie i będzie przedmiotem dalszych badań.
In photogrametric works there are often serial photographs which have different radiometric quality levels. In most cases, radiometric distortion of serial photographs is connected with vignetting. Generally speaking, this phenomenon can be defined as radial radiometric distortion. Removal of this distortion is important, particularly in the process of orthophotomap generation. Radiometric correction assures distribution homogeneity of the color values in an aerial photo. The requirement of execution of this operation is included in the technical guideline entitled “Principles of practices of photo aerial works”. This article briefly describes the mathematical model of radiometric distortion. Selected examples of photographs which need radiometric correction are presented. The changes involve diagrams of digital grey-levels of pixel, correction function and the results of corrections. A model of radial radiometric correction was built in the polar coordinates system. The distributions of color values were determined in the same system. Finally, corrective functions are defined as linear functions, in which the independent variable was the distance from the center of image. Appropriate algorithms were developed in order to conduct experiments, to make radiometric correction and analyses. For this, the author used scanned analog photographs of Aalborg from 2002, which were taken by a LC 0015 camera. The author created the application in Java, in which the presented algorithms were used. Some particular problems of radiometric correlation were solved in the introduced elaboration. Certainly, other cases of corrections (correction of a block of photos which have different overlaps, linear correction in different directions, nonlinear corrections and correction in the chosen area of aerial photo) should be also considered. The problem of radiometric correction has not been solved completely so far. It can be supposed that this subject area will find interest and further research will be conducted.

Opis:: Ta praca stanowi analizę czynników globalnego zanieczyszczenia światłem. Termin ten często odnosi się do nadmiernego lub natrętnego sztucznego światła spowodowanego złym lub nadmiernym oświetleniem. Zanieczyszczenie światłem generuje znaczne koszty, w tym negatywny wpływ na dziką przyrodę, zdrowie, astronomię oraz marnowaną energię. Sztuczne oświetlenie może zmienić zachowanie organizmów, często drastycznie i potencjalnie negatywnie. Wpływa ono bowiem na rytmy biologiczne, codzienną aktywność oraz reprodukcję. Ukazane w tej pracy zostaną też skale i rodzaje zanieczyszczenia światłem, które pozwolą zrozumieć ten problem. Nie zabraknie również sposobów jego zapobiegania. Kroki mające na celu ograniczenie tego rodzaju zanieczyszczenia są konieczne, by zmniejszczyć negatywne skutki opisane w tej pracy.
This work is an analysis of the factors of global light pollution. The term often refers to excessive or intrusive artificial light caused by insufficient or excessive lighting. Light pollution generates significant costs, including negative impacts on wildlife, health, astronomy and wasted energy. Artificial lighting can change the behavior of organisms, often drastically and potentially negatively. It influences biological rhythms, daily activity and reproduction. The scales and types of light pollution will also be shown in this work to help understand this problem. Ways to prevent it will also be shown. Steps to reduce this type of pollution are necessary to minimize the negative effects described in this paper.
