Opis:: In this explorative study, we investigate the relationship between dynamic capabilities and innovation capabilities. Dynamic capabilities are at the core of strategic management in terms of how firms can ensure adaptation to changing environments over time. Our paper follows two paths of argumentation. First, we review and discuss some major contributions to the theories on ordinary capabilities, dynamic capabilities, and innovation capabilities. We seek to identify different understandings of the concepts in question, in order to clarify the distinctions and relationships between dynamic capabilities and innovation capabilities. Second, we present a case study of the ’Innovation Clinic’ at a major university hospital, including four innovation projects. We use this case study to explore and discuss how dynamic capabilities can be extended, as well as to what extent innovation capabilities can be said to be dynamic. In our conclusion, we discuss the conditions for nurturing ‘dynamic innovation capabilities’ in organizations.

Opis:: Purpose: The aim of this article is to present an identification of the premises for the classification of firm capabilities and to show the types of firm capability classification found in the literature. Design/methodology/approach: The classification of capability groups presented in this article is based on the literature review conducted. Findings: Standard classification of a firm's capabilities, in addition to structuring existing knowledge in the area of capabilities, can provide a starting point for identifying the firm's key capabilities leading to competitive advantage. Practical implications: Identifying a firm's capabilities is one of the key steps in creating and leveraging capabilities. The correct classification of a firm's capabilities can become a tool to help identify and then properly exploit them. Originality/value The literature describes the issue of firm capabilities, pointing to a variety of definitions, sources of origin, as well as the effects achieved through the use of capabilities, but does not show a standard classification of capabilities. The classification of firm capabilities provides a starting point for further research on firm capabilities for management researchers as well as firms seeking to achieve competitive advantage.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to recognize the implications of various types of environmental dynamism for the effects of operational and dynamical capabilities. The research method used is the critical analysis of literature in the field of strategic management. The research findings in the literature, on the operational effects and dynamic capabilities in the context of environmental dynamism were properly structured in the article. There were controversial research findings on environmental dynamism and its determining of the effects of operational and dynamic capabilities. The results indicate that operational and dynamic capabilities have different performance effects in high-dynamic and low-dynamic environments. The discussion on operational effects and dynamic capabilities in different market conditions still requires better theorizing and empirical research on the implications of market dynamism. The recommendations of the managers are directed at the understanding of the nature of the environment, which is crucial for the success of the implementation of new practices in the company.

Firms are constantly looking for ways leading to the business competitive advantage creation. Among the factors affecting the business competitive advantage creation an important place is occupied by business success potentials, which include: (1) resources, (2) capabilities and (3) competences. In turn, among the different firm capabilities, the most important role is assigned to the so-called dynamic capabilities. The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of the dynamic capabilities concept exploitation in the process of business competences development.

Opis:: Botnets, the remotely controlled networks of computers with malicious aims, have significantly affected the international order from Ukraine to the United States in recent years. Disruptive software, such as malware, ransomware, and disruptive services, provided by those botnets has many specific effects and properties. Therefore, it is paramount to improve the defences against them. To tackle botnets more or less successfully, one should analyse their code, communication, kill chain, and similar technical properties. However, according to the Business Model for Information Security, besides technological attributes, there is also a human and organisational aspect to their capabilities and behaviour. This paper aims to identify the aspects of different attacks and present an analysis framework to identify botnets’ technological and human attributes. After researching the literature and evaluating our previous findings in this research project, we formed a unified framework for the human-organisational classification of botnets. We tested the defined framework on five botnet attacks, presenting them as case studies. The chosen botnets were ElectrumDoSMiner, Emotet, Gamover Zeus, Mirai, and VPNFilter. The focus of the comparison was motivation, the applied business model, willingness to cooperate, capabilities, and the attack source. For defending entities, reaching the target state of defending capabilities is impossible with a one-time development due to cyberspace’s dynamic behaviour and botnets. Therefore, one has to develop cyberdefence and conduct threat intelligence on botnets using such methodology as that presented in this paper. This framework comprises people and technological attributes according to the BMIS model, providing the defender with a standard way of classification.

The paper concerns the relevance of organizational capabilities in shaping the strategic potential of enterprises and the possibilities of its deployment. Some of strategic organizational capabilities are decisive for the enterprise’s ability to adapt to the changing conditions in its environment. From the cognitive and utilitarian point of view, these capabilities should co-exist to produce positive outcomes. Determining the configuration of a company’s strategic organizational capabilities is the aim of the study, which is a continuation of their analyses in the context of strategic agility. The results of the analyses suggest a hybrid configuration of organizational capabilities.

Opis:: W pracy przedstawiono randomizowany algorytm oceny wybranych zdolności logistycznych. Omówiona została główna idea, w tym zakres danych wejściowych i sposób parametryzacji algorytmu. Część referatu poświęcono definicji podstawowych pojęć związanych z Procesem planowania i programowania rozwoju zdolności SZ RP. The paper presents randomized algorithm for assessment of selected logistics capabilities. The main idea was discussed, including the scope of the input data and the way of algorithm parametrization. Part of the paper was devoted to definition of key concepts related to the Process of planning and programming development of Polish Armed Forces capabilities. Developed software component that implements the algorithm is a part of the Capabilities Planning Process Supported Module, created in the Cybernetics Faculty at Military University of Technology as part of performed R&D projects.

Opis:: The aim of this study is to empirically examine the impact of supply chain dynamic capabilities on operational performance, and the mediating effect of technological innovation between dynamic capabilities and operational performance. This study is based on empirical data collected from a survey of 206 small- and medium-size firms in Korea. Structural equation modeling is used to test the research questions. The results show that supply chain dynamic capabilities positively influence technological innovation and operational performance of an enterprise. Additionally, structural equation analyses reveal that technological innovation plays a role as a partial mediator of the relationship between supply chain dynamic capabilities and operational performance. In a dynamic and ever-changing environment, the enforcement of dynamic capabilities in a sustainable supply chain is important for the innovation of technology and the improvement of operational performance. Further investigation is required to understand the differences by industries, characteristics of enterprises, and positions in a supply chain.

Tytuł:: Real-time visibility for building adaptive resilience

Opis:: Supply chain resilience has become critical in today's volatile global landscape. Recent disruptions have exposed vulnerabilities in interconnected supply networks, highlighting the need for new approaches to managing complex, rapidly evolving challenges. This research investigates how real-time visibility facilitates adaptive resilience in global supply chains through an integrated theoretical framework. Using a mixed- method approach, we analyze five major recent supply chain disruptions including the Red Sea crisis, Panama Canal drought, COVID-19 outbreaks, Baltimore bridge collapse, Israel-Iran conflict. We develop the Real-Time Adaptive Resilience (RTAR) model, a four- layer framework that explains how visibility transforms data into adaptive capabilities. Our findings reveal three key mechanisms through which real-time visibility enhances resilience: information velocity, system-wide transparency, and predictive capability. The research contributes to supply chain management theory by integrating Resource-Based View, Dynamic Capabilities, and Systems Dynamics perspectives while providing practical guidance for building adaptive supply chain capabilities.
