Opis:
In this study, engineering designs were made using wooden, steel and reinforced concrete conveyance systems of a two-story villa with the same architecture. The cost of the rough construction was compared by subtracting the quantities and discoveries of the calculated projects. When the skeleton costs are analyzed, it is understood that the wooden carrier system is the most expensive solution. It is also clear that the reinforced concrete carrier system is the cheapest method. When the cost analysis results are evaluated at the origin of the skeleton construction; it is determined that reinforced concrete structures are cheaper than steel structures. According to the analysis results; it is clearly understood that the cost of building skeleton is much lower than that of reinforced concrete structures and wooden carcass structures. However, when considering the economic life span of the structures, maintenance costs, recycling characteristics and behavior against depression; it should not be forgotten that steel structure system structures will be more advantageous than reinforced concrete structures.

Opis:
Carcass yield of fat-tailed Karadi lambs was investigated. A total of 32 The Karadi lambs screened from various commercial sheep flocks from four different geographic zones (Sharazoor, Halabja, Sharbazher, and Penjween) in Sulaimani governorate, Kurdistan, Iraq. Eight lambs from each of the 4 ecological zones were randomly assigned to 2 feeding treatments (concentrate diet vs. whole barley grain) at a level of 2% of their body weights with 4-6 hours a day stubble grazing. Results revealed that overall means weights recorded at slaughter (38.263 ±1.4 kg), hot carcass (17.199 ±0.8 kg), dressing percentage (44.901 ±1.1%), neck (0.436 ±0.02 kg), shoulder (1.633 ±0.1 kg), loin (0.529 ±0.03 kg), rack (0.782 ±0.1 kg), breast (0.577 ±0.03 kg), fore shank (0.448 ±0.03 kg) and flank (0.276 ±0.02 kg). Overall means of fat thickness, rib eye area and kidney and pelvic fat were 1.790 ±0.3 mm, 13.967 ±0.6 cm2. Types of feed (barley or concentrate) had no statistical effects on carcass characteristics. Lambs fed barley recorded marginally higher weight at slaughtering, neck, head, feet, leg, shoulder, breast and fore shank as well as rib eye area. On the other hand, lambs fed concentrate had unmarked higher weights of hot carcass, heart, liver, kidney, tests, kidney and pelvic fat, tail, loin, rack and flank as well as higher dressing percentage and fat thickness. Geographic location affected weight at slaughter and some other carcass traits. It was concluded that there was a high genetic variation in carcass traits of lambs from different geographic location in Sulaimani province.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of heat stress on production performance and oxidative stress in different plumage colors of Japanese quail. For this purpose, a total of 100 birds were used in this study. The 25 birds belonged to Wild-type (n=25, grey), Tuxedo (n=25, black), Golden (n=25, yellow) and Recessive white (n=25). The birds were reared for 42 days in an environmentally controlled room at 39°C and relative humidity of 60-65%. The body weight, body weight gain (g/bird/day), and feed conversion ratio were not different between the groups (p>0.05). However, the feed intake (g/bird/day) of the Wild-type had a higher value than the Tuxedo (black) group counterparts between 15 and 21 days different (p<0.05). There was no significant effect of heat stress on the carcass traits (p>0.05). Spleen weights were different between the groups (p<0.05). The yellow group had the highest spleen weight. The highest MDA level was found in the Recessive White variety, followed by Wild-type (grey), Golden (yellow) and Tuxedo (black), respectively. However, there were no statistical differences amongst the groups (p>0.05). There was also no statistical significance in glutathione (GSH) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels (p>0.05). The heat shock protein 70 kDa (HSP70) level was significantly different between the groups (p<0.001). The highest percentage was observed in the Golden (5.06%) and the lowest in the White (1.43%) variety. There was no superior color variety of Japanese quail regarding fattening performance and carcass traits. It is conceivable that when considering the stress response of the different colors, the Golden group is more sensitive to stress due to the hepatic and cellular level of HSP70.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of doses of zinc on its metabolism (absorption and distribution) in the carcass of animals. The examinations involved male Wistar rats divided into two groups. All the rats were given intragastrically for 28 days traces of zinc chloride labeled with radioactive zinc-65. Group I (the controls) fed a standard laboratory diet LSM and tap water containing traces of zinc (0.03 mg/dm3). Rats in group II were fed as those in group I except for the drinking water that was supplemented with 23.3 mg Zn/dm3 increasing about twice the dietary zinc intake as compared with that in group I. Radiozinc was measured in the carcass 3 h, 6 h, 1 d, 2 d, 4 d, 7d, 14 d, and 28 d after dosing with the use of scintillation counter equipped with well-type crystal that permitted the detection of radioactivity in the body of tested rats. Results included concentrations of radiozinc in the carcass at the time points which were used to calculate the AUC values. The obtained AUC values permitted the evaluation of carcass retention of zinc within 28 days postdosing. Data indicated that the percentage content of the isotope in group II was lower than that in the controls and differences were statistically significant at 6 h and day 1, 2, 4, and 28. The AUC values showed that the dietary zinc uptake in group II decreased by about 23% as compared with that in group I. The results supported evidence that increased dietary zinc intake results in decreased zinc retention in the body.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to determine the characteristics of farmed fallow deer carcasses and possible correlations between parameters. The research material consisted of carcasses from male deer slaughtered at the age of 20-21 months. Carcass weight, the weight and percentage share of cuts and internal organs, and correlations between selected parameters were determined. The rump was shown to have the largest percentage share of the carcass, followed by the shoulders and loins. Significant statistical correlations were noted between those cuts and the total carcass weight. Linear regression revealed significant relationships between the weights of individual cuts, which will make it possible to determine them without the need to dissect the carcass. The development of indirect methods of evaluating carcasses can also facilitate their classification, e.g. in meat processing plants.

Opis:
In a beech forest on limestone. the community of carrion (dead Arion ater slugs) exploiting Diptera and their parasitoids (Hymenoptera) was studied. The carcass sustained 17 species of Diptera and 12 of Hymenoptera. With the exception of Kleidotoma psiloides (Eucoilidae), all of the parasitoid species bred were polyphagous and attacked all of the fly species present. The populations of the fly and wasp species were highly aggregated. The degree of aggregation depended in an inversely manner on the density. The dispersion of the parasitoids was independent from the number of hosts. Diptera, which lay their eggs in a late stage of decay, showed a negative correlation between aggregation and the weight of the slugs. There was no interspecific competition detectable between the fly species. The parasitoids did compete markedly only at high levels of parasitism. The parasitoids showed only a weak (negative) density dependent reaction to the number of hosts present. The degree of density dependence was more pronounced in the more infrequent species. The total parasitoid numbers increased in a linear manner with increasing host densities, and therefore the overall parasitism rate was roughly constant for different host numbers. Large predators and necrophages (Silphidae, Carabidae, Arion ater) had a high impact on the mortality of the flies and wasps. In experimental boxes that allowed free access to these species, they totally prevented the developrnent of phorid flies and their parasitoids.

Opis:
Relationship between the live assessment of Holstein-Friesian bulls and beef breed crosses, and the post-mortem objective evaluation of beef carcasses. Methods of assessing the slaughter and fattening characteristics of live cattle are a common and inseparable element of breeding work, but the commonly used visual assessment methods are not fully objective. Nowadays, innovative methods for the computer image analysis of beef carcasses, which are usually precise and objective than methods and are often used. The aims of this study was to determine the relationship between live assessment and post-mortem analysis for the objective evaluation of carcasses, and to determine if it is possible to predict carcass quality based on live measurements. The material consisted of bulls that were Holstein Friesian breed (N=128), and beef breed crosses (N =170). The experiments included the zoometric measurement of the bulls and the results of an objective evaluation of the carcasses using computer image analysis. In terms of the beef breed crosses all live measurements were signifi cantly correlated (P < 0.05) with the post-slaughter values. The coeffi cients of determination (R2) were higher for crossbreed bulls than for dairy bulls by over 20% in the case of the distance between the heel and the shoulder and for hind quarter volume. In both research groups an increase in height at the withers resulted in a body conformation of(standardized regression coeffi cients –ß) 0.68 and 1.006, for pure breed and beef breed crosses respectively. Live cattle measurements – especially measurements performed on beef breed crosses, may forecast selected characteristics in beef carcasses.
