Opis:: The starting point for this study is the thesis that disability multidimensionally determines human functioning, enhances human uniqueness and is favourable for emphasizing a person’s individuality. This inspires to use a study of an individual case as a method not only of its cognition and description but also its understanding. The method also makes it easier to construct individual concepts of functioning of a person with disability in the jungle of many biological, psychological and social determinants. Moreover, for the researcher – the method may become a valuable source of experience and an inspiration for his/her own (not only scientific) development. To provide justification for this thesis, a survey of case studies is made, with special focus on the authorial typology of didactic (educational) goals – the aims which are usually underrated in scientific works. What follows are the possible typologies of the discussed method and the author’s suggestions concerning the construction of a case study of a disabled person. The text is completed with final conclusions.

Establishing a Start-up as an Answer for the Environmental Problems in the Beauty Industry - Case Study

Opis:: W niniejszej pracy opisany został proces przygotowania do założenia start-up’u. Firma poprzez sprzedaż kosmetyków w nieidealnie wyglądających opakowaniach może zapobiegać marnotrawstwu kosmetyków i zanieczyszczania środowiska jednorazowym plastikiem. Część teoretyczną opisano bazując na dokumentach tworzonych przez organy Unii Europejskiej, a także IPCC, które jest ciałem doradczym przy Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych. Potrzebę powstania start-up’u przedstawiono w oparciu o badania ankietowe, w którym wzięło udział 1318 osób, a warunki jego działania określiła porada prawna udzielona przez Studencką Poradnię Prawną Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. W pracy zostało wykorzystane podejście badawcze case study, w ramach którego opisano przyszłe zasady funkcjonowania start-up’ui możliwości jego rozwoju.
In this paper, the process of preparation to establish a start-up has been described. Through the sales of cosmetics packed in imperfect looking packets, a company might prevent the waste of cosmetics and polluting the environment by single-use plastics. The theoretical part of the paper has been based on the documents written by the European Union’s organs, as well as on the documents from IPCC, which is an intergovernmental body of the United Nations. The need to establish a start-up has been proven by survey research in which 1318 people participated. The conditions under which the start-up might work have been determined by the legal advice provided by the legal clinic on Jagiellonian University. Case study is the research approach used in the paper, which helped describe the future rules for the management of start-up and its possible ways of development.

Poruszony zostaje problem niżu demograficznego oraz poprzez graficzne przedstawienie liczba cudzoziemców przyjeżdżających do Polski w poszukiwaniu zatrudnienia. Na przykładzie firmy EGIS Polska przedstawiona zostaje rekrutacja w dużych przedsiębiorstwach. Znajdujące się w trzecim rozdziale studium przypadku pokazuje realny problem rekrutacyjny organizacji i krótką jego charakterystykę.

Na szczególną uwagę zasługują firmy branży beauty, które w ostatnich latach wyjątkowo szybko poszerzają zakres swojej działalności i zyskują na popularności. Po dogłębnej analizie rynku zauważono, że niezwykle mało salonów kosmetycznych opiera swój rozwój o starannie opracowaną strategię. Przytoczne zostały definicje rozwoju, ze szczególnym ujęciem mikro i małych przedsiębiorstw. Przedstawiono istotę strategii oraz omówiono narzędzia służące jej. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone metodą “case study”, która jest zespoleniem wielu metod badawczych. Wybór tej metody nie jest przypadkowy, ponieważ ten rodzaj w dużym stopniu pomaga uporządkować wiedzę zdobytą podczas specjalizacji. Wybrane przedsiębiorstwo należy do sektora mikro i małych przedsiębiorstw i jest jednym z lepiej prosperujących działalności tego typu w okolicy. Praca powstała w oparciu o wybitne i znane dzieła ekonomistów polskiego i zagranicznego pochodzenia.
The aim of this work is to design a development strategy for a company cosmetic services sector. Nowadays, when the competition is growing rapidly, it is crucial to constantly develop your company. Particularly noteworthy are beautycompanies, which in recent years have been expanding their range of activitiesand gaining popularity. After athorough analysis of the market, it was noticed that very few beauty salonsbase their development on a carefully developed strategy. Definitions of development, with particular emphasison micro and small enterprises, have been given. The essence of the strategy is presented and the tools for it simplementation are discussed. Thestudy was carried out using “case study"; method, which is a combination of many research methods. The choice of this method is not accidental, because this type of method helps to organize the knowledge gained during the specialization. The selected enterprise belongs to the sector of micro and small enterprises and is one of the more prosperous activities of this type in the area. The work is based on outstandingand well-known works by economists of Polish and foreign origin.

Opis:: Teza/cel artykułu: Celem artykułu jest rozpoznanie modeli zarządzania informacją realizowanych w praktyce zarządzania serwisami WWW bibliotek akademickich. Metody badań: Jako metoda badawcza zastosowane zostało podejście multi-case study. Przeanalizowane zostały procesy zarządzania informacją w serwisach WWW pięciu różnych bibliotek akademickich. Zastosowany został częściowo ustrukturyzowany wywiad z dążeniem do jego pogłębienia. Wyniki i wnioski: Zidentyfikowane zostały dwa dominujące modele zarządzania informacją. Pierwszy – widoczny w mniejszych bibliotekach, w który zaangażowany jest jeden lub dwóch redaktorów, a procesy zarządzania przebiegają szybko, są jednak obarczone ryzykiem błędu. Drugi - widoczny w większych placówkach, gdzie nad serwisem WWW czuwa cały zespół redakcyjny, kontrola treści jest na wyższym poziomie, jednak proces zarządzania jest długotrwały.
Thesis/Objective - The article is to identify the models of information management used while managing the websites of academic libraries. Research methods - The multi-case study approach was used to analyze five selected libraries. In addition the author made partly structured interviews and, as a qualitative research method, in-depth interviews. Results/Conclusions – Two dominant models of information management were identified. First was noticed in smaller libraries where only one or two web editors were involved and the processes of information management are running fast, although they are subject to mistake risk. Second was noticed in larger institutions where the website is supervised by a whole team of editors and the content control is on higher level but the whole management process takes much more time.

Opis:: The article describes the experiences of foster parents related to feelings of excessive control and criticism and prejudice in connection with their function. The article is based on research for the author’s bachelor’s thesis from statements obtained from interviews. The purpose of the article is to point out the existence of negative attitudes toward foster families in the opinion of the people surveyed and to show what foster parents may be struggling with.

Tytuł:: Workaholism and its symptoms in individuals manifesting mental disorders : a clinical analysis based on a case study

Opis:: Workaholism is an exceptionally complex psychological phenomenon that has been widely described in the literature from numerous theoretical perspectives. The common assumption in describing psychological profiles of individuals characterised by the so-called workaholic attitude to work and life pertains to the presence of many various mental disorders manifested by a given person. These include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosomatic disorders and personality disorders. Persons who manifest different stages of inner compulsion are characterised by the absence of control and distance to increased professional activity. Over time, psychopathological symptoms become displayed in the psychological functioning of such individuals, which requires treatment. Moreover, a workaholic patient needs also medical, psychological or psychotherapeutic assistance. The aim of this article is to determine the significance of differential diagnoses of workaholics’ psychological profiles by means of examining clinical case reports to provide a broader and a more in-depth view on treatment and directions to be taken in psychological assistance. By presenting the theoretical grounds of workaholism, the authors focused primarily on presenting clinical aspects of an individual’s negative functioning (detrimental to his or her development and health) in the organisation and structure of a given work situation. Clinical cases reports pertaining to patients suffering from workaholism are not common in the literature. For this reason, the article aimed primarily at describing three psychological profiles of individuals who manifested workaholism with comorbid mental disorders.
