Master’s thesis is devoted to the issue of the influence of Immanuel Kant’s philosophy on the philosophy of Ernst Caassirer. Kant's philosophy can be seen as the methodology and the base, which Cassirer used in creating his own system, not only in the philosophy of knowledge, but in all other areas of human life, thereby creating a philosophical system, which is based on functionalist, rather than substantial, paradigm.The first chapter concerns Kantian philosophy, and precisely these elements that influenced Ernst Cassirer’s philosophy of culture. These include forms of the judgments and the process of cognition, that is the answer to the question of how knowledge is created and how man gets to know the world. The answer to these questions in the context of Kant's philosophy will facilitate understanding the philosophical system of E. Cassirer.The second chapter is entitled “From epistemology towards the philosophy of culture”. It explains how Cassirer, using the achievements of Kant, expanded knowledge in the Kantian sense of other aspects of human life, such as mythical cognizance, aesthetic cognizance, cognizance through language. In the second chapter the author also focuses on the concept of the symbol, as well as the creation of concepts based on the functional paradigm.The third chapter presents two forms of symbolic (language, art) that depict the structure of knowledge. They are examples of the system. Effects of symbolic forms are illustrated by these examples.
Praca magisterska dotyczy wpływu filozofii Immanuela Kanta na filozofię Ernsta Cassirera. Filozofia Kanta może być traktowana jako metodologia oraz podstawa, z której Cassirer korzystał w tworzeniu własnego systemu dotyczącego nie tylko filozofii poznania, ale wszelkich innych dziedzin życia człowieka, tworząc tym samym system filozoficzny, którego podstawą jest paradygmat funkcjonalistyczny, a nie substancjalny. Pierwszy rozdział dotyczy filozofii Kanta, a dokładnie tych elementów, które miały wpływ na filozofię kultury Ernsta Cassirera. Są to między innymi formy sądów i cały proces poznania, czyli odpowiedź na pytania jak tworzy się wiedza i w jaki sposób człowiek poznaje świat. Odpowiedź a te pytania udzielona w ramach filozofii Kanta pozwoli na zrozumienie systemu filozoficznego E. Cassirera. Drugi rozdział nosi tytuł od epistemologii w stronę filozofii kultury. Zawarta jest w nim odpowiedź w jaki sposób Cassirer korzystając z dorobku Kanta rozszerzył poznanie w sensie kantowskim o inne aspekty życia ludzkiego, takie jak poznanie mityczne, poznanie estetyczne, poznanie poprzez język. W rozdziale drugim autor skupia się również na samym pojęciu symbolu, a także na tworzeniu pojęć w ramach paradygmatu funkcjonalistycznego.Trzeci rozdział przedstawia dwie formy symboliczne (język, sztuka), które obrazują strukturę poznania.
