Opis:: The article deals with the issue of depression in children and adolescents as a shortcut to problems of individual and social development. It presents the concept of depression and its typologies, showing depression as a disease increasingly common among children and adolescents. The biological and social causes of depression among young adolescents are indicated and other sources of depressive behaviors are also described. A particular role of the family in overcoming the symptoms of depression is highlighted.

Reasons for suicide attempts in young people aged 14-18
Opis:: Introduction. Year by year the level of suicide attempts among the young people increases systematically and the age at which adolescents attempt suicide decreases. Those making suicide attempts driven by diverse motivation and prior suicide often leads to traumatic events. Aim of the study. The aim of the study was to determine the causes of suicide attempts of young would be suicide bombers and make the characteristics of selected elements of the act of suicide attempt. Material and methods. The group of youth after suicide attempts include 100 persons. We used a questionnaire and a standard questionnaire — Beck Depression Inventory. Results. The study found that the cause of suicide attempts among young people are problems in the family, peer group and male-female relationships, loneliness school failure, poor socioeconomic conditions. Suicide attempt often preceded by traumatic events in the family and among their peers and the youth showed a lot of forms of pathological behavior. Level of depression respondents who attempted suicide Beck depression scale showed a moderate and significant depression. Conclusions. The results above can be used to construct strategies, programmes and support groups for the youth with suicidal susceptibilities.
Wstęp. Z roku na rok systematycznie wzrasta liczba zamachów samobójczych wśród młodzieży, a także obniża się próg wiekowy osób podejmujących próby samobójcze. Jednostki te kierują się różną motywacją, a samobójstwo często poprzedzają traumatyczne zdarzenia. Cel pracy. Celem niniejszej pracy było określenie przyczyn prób samobójczych młodych niedoszłych samobójców oraz dokonanie charakterystyki wybranych elementów struktury aktu próby samobójczej. Materiał i metody. Grupa badanych po próbie samobójczej obejmowała 100 osób. Wykorzystano kwestionariusz ankiety oraz standardowy kwestionariusz — skalę depresji Becka. Wyniki. Stwierdzono, że przyczyną prób samobójstw wśród młodzieży są problemy w środowisku rodzinnym, grupie rówieśniczej i relacjach damsko-męskich, poczucie osamotnienia, niepowodzenia szkolne, niekorzystne zmiany społeczno-ekonomiczne. Próbę samobójczą bardzo często poprzedzały zdarzenia traumatyczne w rodzinie i wśród rówieśników, a młodzież przejawiała wiele form zachowań patologicznych. Poziom depresji respondentów podejmujących próby samobójcze ocenianej skalą depresji Becka wskazywał na depresję umiarkowaną i znaczną. Wnioski. Niniejsze wyniki mogą być wykorzystywane do konstruowania strategii, programów i grup wsparcia dla młodzieży ze skłonnościami suicydalnymi.
