Opis:
The article presents the concept of organizational capacity for change. For this purpose the resource-based view of firm was mainly used. In addition, the review of research in the area of the organizational capacity for change and its influence on the process of change management was presented. Based on the empirical model proposed by Berr and Soparnot, the contextual and the process factors that should be taken into account in the analysis of the organizational capacity for change were described.

Opis:
Change management is currently one of the most sought-after business management technologies. Often, change management is called the most difficult part of a managerial work, which requires great skill. This is particularly relevant in the context of modern business, when deep, almost constant changes are in principle considered a factor that is very important for a company to adapt to the changing demands of the market and the global economic situation. The purpose of the article is an analysis of approaches and models of change management. To achieve it a literature review was carried out. Article describes main differences between ADKAR, EASIER, Lewin's model of change and Nadkar twelve steps approach to name a few. Analysis led to the conclusion, that it is impossible to pick the best approach to change management. Each approach to change management draws attention to different aspects of this issue but at the same time they do not exclude but complement each other. Change management models focus, to a large extent, on the practical process of this management area.

Opis:
The paper has been intended to describe the essence of the change control in the aircraft testing, the change control being a component of the process of configuration management process. The concept of a systemic approach to the change control under the configuration management (CM) model has been presented. The essence of establishing the configuration of reference being the base for realization of tests has been indicated and necessity of control was justified. Decomposition of tests to objects of configuration has been created. The exemplary externals that have an effect on identified object of configuration have been described. It was assumed that the differences between real and supposed parameters of externals are the reason of changes to established configuration of testing. The algorithm of proceeding referred to implementation changes (initiating, description, estimation of the influence, taking a decision about implementation, messaging information to interested parties) has been proposed. The instruments for control of tests configuration has been presented. It was proved that efficient control of configuration could be an instrument for efficient realization of tests while changes appear. What has been proposed is a process of qualitative assessment of the change control as one of the most essential issues of the configuration management modelling in the aircraft testing.

The character of work process, having evolved in the recent years, imposes new requirements on the participants of contemporary organizations. The aim of this article is to verify which of variables are important for readiness to change of managers. Therefore the statistical analyses of the empirical material were conducted towards recognition of the strongest determinants of readiness to change of managers. The results of the statistical analyses prove that the variables of greatest importance to readiness to change are of subjective character.

Opis:
The article is focused on the relationship between meditation, degree of involvement in the practice and temporal orientation, in particular active concentration on present time called “Carpe diem”. Two hypotheses are tested: a) Practitioners, as compared to nonpractitioners, are presenting significantly higher active concentration on the present and lower orientation on the past, future and present fatalistic orientation; b) If involvement in meditation increases, active concentration on the present also increases. A survey has been carried out on a group of 160 practitioners of Karma Kagyu linage of Tibetan Buddhism in Poland and a group of 100 nonpractitioners. The results suggest, practitioners are more actively focused on present time and this active concentration increases with involvement in meditation.

Opis:
We study the evolution of income and wealth inequality in an economy undergoing endogenous structural change with imperfect labor mobility. Our economy features two sectors: services and manufacturing. With faster TFP growth in manufacturing, labor reallocates from manufacturing to services. This reallocation is slower due to labor mobility frictions, which in turn, raises relative wages in services. As a result, income inequality is higher. Moreover, we study the impact of structural change on wealth inequality. Its economic intuition is more ambiguous. On the one hand, increased income dispersion implies increased dispersion in the ability to accumulate wealth across individuals. On the other hand, younger workers who hold the least assets are the most mobile across sectors. Their incomes are improved, which boosts their savings, which works towards equalizing wealth distribution. The consequence of these changes can only be verified with a computational model. To this end, we construct an overlapping generations model with two sectors: manufacturing and services. Our model also features heterogeneous individuals. With our model, we are able to show how the structural change affected the evolution of income and wealth inequality in Poland as of 1990.

Opis:
This article presents the results of research on the changes and variability of snow cover in Kraków in the 100-year period 1921/22–2020/21 and in its two sub-periods covering the years of the slow and rapid territorial, urban and industrial development of Kraków (respectively, 1921/22–1960/61 and 1961/62–2020/21). The long-term variability of the number of days with snow cover, the maximum depth of the snow layer, the dates of the beginning and end of snow cover duration in the winter season, the potential snow cover duration and the index of snow cover stability were analysed. The directions of changes in the snow cover in the last 100 winter seasons in Kraków correspond to the global changes in air temperature presented in the latest IPCC reports: until the end of the 1950s there were no significant trends, or only small trends were observed, whereas from the beginning of the 1960s faster changes in the snow cover duration and maximum seasonal snow depth have been visible. In the last 60 years (1961/62–2020/21), the impact of global changes in Kraków has been joined by the impact of territorial, demographic and industrial development of the city, causing significant negative trends in snow cover with relative values of less than −9% ∙ 10 years−1, both in the case of snow cover duration and its maximum depth in the winter season; these changes are statistically significant. Throughout the whole 100-year period (1921/22–2020/21) and in its second part (1961/62–2020/21), a decrease in snow cover stability has also been observed.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present the differences in the way of thinking about educational change and its barriers between teachers-innovators and non-innovators. The former understood the concept of educational change in a more radical and profound way. In their statements, they demanded a breakthrough that was, in fact, a questioning of the dominant education model. Non-innovators would like transformations, but more moderate, minor ones that do not go beyond the area of the dominant model of education but can potentially facilitate or make the time spent by teachers and students at school easier or more enjoyable. Teachers-innovators more often focused on bottom-up sources of change, i.e., primarily on teachers and their students. Non-innovators focused rather on top-down sources of change, locating them in particular in state authorities, experts, and politicians, and the role of the market as an institution (in the sociological sense). Both groups also differed in terms of the barriers to change they mentioned. While the former mainly emphasized the importance of what hinders or prevents changes and is dependent on the teacher, the latter emphasized the role of issues independent of teachers. In order to explain the differences between the two groups of teachers, the article refers to the theories of W. Reckless and J.B. Rotter.

Opis:
The current article deals with issues related to organisational behaviours, as perceived in the light of social and economic transformations that are going on in our country. The author claims that a change in an organisation should be analysed from the point of view of an individual. Thus, the author points at the whole spectrum of individual behavioural reactions to the process of transformations – from resistance, through indifference, to enthusiasm andco-operation. These views lead the author to suggest a theoretical model of personal and situational determinants of readiness for change in organisation, which constitutes the basic theme of the article.
