Opis:: The article is devoted to contemporary official documents of the religious language in the form of statutes of diocesan synods. Linguistic syntactic analysis focuses on the communicative intention and the ways of expressing it formally. The focus is mainly on verbs (classical modal predicates and exponents of intent such as to command, recommend, encourage) and verb-nominal structures. Syntactic structures with additional information about the sender’s motives are also described.
Artykuł jest poświęcony współczesnym dokumentom urzędowym języka religijnego w postaci statutów synodów diecezjalnych. Językoznawcza analiza składniowa skupia się wokół intencji komunikacyjnej i sposobów jej formalnego wyrażania. W centrum uwagi mieszczą się głównie czasowniki (klasyczne predykaty modalne i wykładniki intencji typu nakazywać, zalecać, zachęcać) oraz struktury werbo-nominalne. Opisowi podlegają też konstrukcje syntaktyczne z dodatkową informacją o celu przyświecającym nadawcy.

Opis:: The text is about modality from a linguistic point of view. The author takes a broad understanding of a modal category (modality indentified with communicative intention) and analyses the so called basic modal units: verbs and predicates, which together with an infinitive create a verbal construction. She examines a function of the mentioned expressions in the Code of Canon Law. Willing to accept a specific character of contexts with modal expressions, she includes in the description conclusions coming from earlier study of newspaper texts, homilies and speeches of John Paul II.

Opis:: The paper constitutes a psychodynamic analysis of the language as used in the medical expertise today. Particularly, low psycholinguistic and stylistic awareness on the part of medicine practitioners is discussed, which contributes to the communication intention violation, ultimately to communication failure between the doctor and the patient being two participants in the commu- nication dyad. This preliminary discussion points to the necessity of more conscious linguistic choices on the part of people working in the health care sector, who can model their patients ‘in the direction of health’, and start prevention programs based on psycholinguistic modeling via language used in communication with the patient.

Opis:: This paper investigates comments left by users of Allegro – an on-line auction website. With the use of pragmalinguistics, author treats the e-commerce site comments as emotive-evaluative act directed towards both specific and potential contractors. It’s also an act used by the user to build websites’ participant image. Among positive acts we can distinguish acts of praising, which praise the way of closing the deal, product’s quality, contractor or the message itself. The second group consists of courtesy acts or polite sentences used In the acts of praising. Neutral comments are dominated by complaints. Their content has usually negative tone, however the addressees tend to ease them with means of such words as “unfortunately” or other words reflecting how sorry they are. The list of negative comments is dominated by acts of warning and advice. Users who initiate communication usually use censorious tone which causes asymmetry in relations between them and the addressee. The study shows that users willingly use their own words to rate the service and in addition to graphic scale and template offered by the website they describe their emotions.

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje klasyczny już w dzisiejszych badaniach psycholingwistycznych model produkcji językowej zaproponowany przez Levelta (1989). Tekst omawia szczegółowo poszczególne etapy produkcji językowej: od intencji komunikacyjnej i informacji prewerbalnej (konceptualizacja) przez formułowanie komunikatu do jego artykulacji. Mechanizmy prowadzące do powstania komunikatu werbalnego ukazane są także na przykładzie tzw. leksykalnych błędów w mówieniu: amalgamatów, substytucji i permutacji. Dwa nowsze modele produkcji językowej (de Bot 2004, Kormos 2006) oparte na modelu Levelta zostały w tekście krótko omówione.
Cette contribution expose le modèle classique de la production langagière proposé par Levelt (1989). Le texte passe en revue les stades successifs de cette production : de l’intention de communication codée dans le message préverbal (conceptualisation), par la formulation du message jusqu’à son articulation. Trois types d’erreur de langue – trois mécanismes perturbateurs – y sont également exposés : amalgames (blends), substitutions (substitutions) et permutations (permutations). Deux modèles plus récents (de Bot 2004, Kormos 2006), issus de la proposition de Levelt, sont brièvement discutés dans le texte.

Opis:: Der vorliegende Beitrag berichtet darüber, mit welchen Ausdrucksmitteln das Vergleichen und das Gegenüberstellen im Deutschen und im Polnischen realisiert werden können. Im theoretischen Teil werden das Vergleichen und das Gegenüberstellen als kommunikative Verfahren der Sachverhaltsübermittlung dargestellt, denen sich auch eine Bewertungsfunktion im konkreten Situationszusammenhang zuschreiben lässt. In der Diskussion wird – in Übereinstimmung mit den Engelschen funktional‑kommunikativen Ansätzen in der Grammatik (z.B. Engel 1990, 2013) – von den Redeabsichten ausgegangen. Im empirischen Teil wird anhand konkreter Beispiele eine Übersicht erstellt, die Äußerungen nach den Redeabsichten (also dem, „was“ man sagen will) und nach den typischen sprachlichen Ausdrucksmitteln (dem, „wie“ man es sagen kann) beschreibt und diskutiert.
This study aims to show which words and grammatical structures can be used for comparing and contrasting in German and Polish. In the theoretical section, comparing and contrasting are presented as the communication tactics which can also reflect the evaluation of the language user of the facts s/he is speaking about. Speech intentions are the starting point here, according to the communicative‑functional approach to grammar (e.g. Engel 1990, 2013). In the empirical section, an overview is created by means of concrete examples, which shows and discusses statements according to the speech intentions (thus, the question will be asked as to “what” the speaker wants to say) and to the typical grammatical structures can be used (thus, “how” the speaker actually says it).
