Opis:: Community psychology concentrates on resources and potential of local communities. It also deals with the influence of community and environment on the individual’s life quality. The article presents the general outline of community psychology, sociopolitical context of its origin and social issues it was to solve. It concentrates on the different kinds of “empowerment” and presents its educational implementation. The article also shows how psychological and community empowerment can influence social attitudes of young leaders and promote active participation in local communities.

Opis:: El objetivo de este artículo es analizar las intersecciones entre economías orientadas al turismo y las políticas de desarrollo local y de infraestructuras en el contexto de un país del socialismo (tardío). Mi propósito es demostrar cómo turismo, considerado en general como un mecanismo de profundizar las desigualdades social y crear desigualdades nuevas, se utiliza como una herramienta para promover el desarrollo comunitario y atraer atención a varios problemas sociales en el contexto del socialismo tardío en Cuba. Mi investigación está basada en una literatura extensa que considera el impacto de las transformaciones turísticas en Cuba, pero al mismo tiempo, las confronta con una reflexión crítica sobre la ideología de la revolución cubana y estrategias de trabajo comunitario.
The aim of this article is to consider intersections between tourism-oriented economies and the politics of infrastructure and community development in a (late) socialist country. I argue that although tourism is usually considered a mechanism that deepens existing inequalities and creates new ones, in the context of late socialist Cuba it becomes a resource that the creation of new ideas for community development and brings attention to various social issues. My research builds on a rich body of work that considers the impact of touristic transformations in Cuba while linking it to the critical reflection on Cuban revolutionary ideology and strategies of community engagement.

Tytuł:: A comparative analysis. The use of EU funds in the communes of Nowa Sarzyna and Krzeszów
Analiza porównawcza. Wykorzystanie środków unijnych w gminach Nowa Sarzyna i Krzeszów.

Opis:: The main purpose of this study was to analyse the use of EU funds on the example of Nowa Sarzyna and Krzeszów in 2007 - 2010 and to highlight if the projects implemented by communes are part of a long - term objectives in the community development strategies.In the first section of this thesis the commune is characterised as the unit of local government, and the tasks of the commune and its authorities are presented. The development of the local community is defined, and also the community development strategy is described and the budget as a tool for community development planning.The second chapter is devoted to funds in the EU as the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the European Cohesion Fund, and the Operational Programs in force at present in the financial perspective 2007 - 2013 and previous financial perspective 2000 - 2006. A detailed breakdown is provided of EU funds for specific Operational Programs and the provinces.The last chapter characterises the commune of Krzeszów and Nowa Sarzyna, and the completed projects in the period 2007 - 2010, which were financed from EU funds, are presented and analysed. The revenue and expenditure of communes in the adopted period (2007 - 2010) is shown, as well as the dynamics of key budget items and amount of grants received by the communes and reported in their budgets, and their level of spending on these projects. Regarding the community development strategy, the long – term objectives of the communes are set out and compliance with the objectives of the projects is assessed.
W niniejszej pracy głównym celem była analiza wykorzystania funduszy unijnych na przykładzie gminy Krzeszów i Nowa Sarzyna w latach 2007 – 2010 oraz zwrócenie uwagi czy projekty realizowane przez gminy wpisują się w cele długookresowe w strategiach rozwoju gminy.W rozdziale pierwszy niniejszej pracy scharakteryzowano gminę jako jednostkę samorządu terytorialnego, przedstawiono zadania gminy oraz jej organy. Zdefiniowano rozwój lokalny gminy, a także opisano strategię rozwoju gminy oraz budżet jako narzędzia planowania rozwoju gminy.Rozdział drugi został poświęcony funduszom unijnych takim jak: Europejskiemu Funduszowi Rozwoju Regionalnego, Europejskiemu Funduszowi Społecznemu oraz Europejskiemu Funduszowi Spójności, oraz Programom Operacyjnym obowiązującym w teraźniejszej perspektywie finansowej 2007 – 2013 oraz poprzedniej perspektywie finansowej 2000 – 2006. Przedstawiono dokładny podział środków unijnych na poszczególne Programy Operacyjne i województwa.W ostatnim rozdziale scharakteryzowano gminy Krzeszów oraz Nowa Sarzyna, przedstawiono zrealizowane projekty w latach 2007 – 2010, które były współfinansowane ze środków unijnych oraz dokonano ich analizy. Ukazano dochody oraz wydatki gmin w przyjętym okresie (2007 – 2010), dynamikę kluczowych pozycji budżetu oraz wielkość dotacji otrzymanych przez gminy i wykazanych w budżecie, tak samo jak wydatki na realizację tych projektów. Odwołując się do strategii rozwoju gmin przedstawiono cele długookresowe gmin oraz dokonano oceny zgodności realizowanych projektów z celami.

The purpose of the thesis is analysis of Polish audience’s culture of participating in cinematic rituals based on four examples of Cracow’s cinematic projects. Projects are ideologically different and prepared for a special group of recipients. The study has got a theoretical part and a practical one. The summary contains the elements of the rituals of the projects and their results so far.

Functioning of non-governmental organisations following the Proszowice Borough example

Opis:: In the thesis I characterise the functioning of non- governmental organisations on the basis of Proszowice Borough. I introduce the definition of the institution and the fundamentals of its functioning. Their detailed description is included in Constitution of Poland from 1997.The main aim of the thesis is a thorough description of non-governmental organisations and their meaning for communities. Another objective is to elaborate on their tasks, activities and various ways of their financing. The focus of my attention is the area of Proszowice Borough. In my thesis I explain the legal framework of non-governmental organisations and the constitutional influence on founding independent and voluntary institutions. I also define their characteristics and the area of their activities.
W niniejszej pracy scharakteryzowano funkcjonowanie organizacji pozarządowych na przykładzie gminy Proszowice. Przedstawiono definicje organizacji pozarządowych, oraz podstawy ich funkcjonowania, które określa Konstytucja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z 1997. Głównym celem pracy jest scharakteryzowanie organizacji pozarządowych oraz ich znaczenia w życiu społecznym, omówienie zadań tych organizacji i ich finansowania. Przede wszystkim skupiono się na organizacjach w gminie Proszowice. Przedstawiono także prawne podstawy funkcjonowania organizacji pozarządowych oraz wpływ Konstytucji RP na tworzenie się niezależnych i dobrowolnych organizacji. Określono również cechy jakie posiada organizacja pozarządowa oraz obszar aktywności jakim się zajmują.

Opis:: Artykuł charakteryzuje środowisko zajmujące się technologią, organizacją i ekonomiką budownictwa – głównie środowisko akademickie zgrupowanego wokół Sekcji Inżynierii Przedsięwzięć Budowlanych KILiW PAN. Wyniki opracowano na podstawie ankiety obejmującej okres 2007-2010. Przedstawiono zagadnienia finansowe rzutujące na zakres prowadzonych badań oraz na proces dydaktyczny. Dokonano przeglądu między innymi tematyki badań, studiów podyplomowych, stopni naukowych a także publikacji i współpracy międzynarodowej. Uogólnienia przedstawiono w postaci wniosków ze sfery nauka i dydaktyka.
Problems arising in the community of construction engineering and management experts are presented here. Results are based on a survey covering the period 2007-2010. Financial issues involved in research and teaching, and the overview of topics, including research, postgraduate studies, degrees, publications, international cooperation and collaboration with industry are presented. General conclusions have been drawn regarding teaching and learning, on the basis of suggestions presented by the surveyed academic community.

Tytuł:: Jews and Muslims in Dubai, Berlin, and Warsaw : interactions, peacebuilding initiatives, and improbable encounters

Opis:: What is the nature of interactions between Jews and Muslims in contemporary Dubai, Berlin, and Warsaw? The purpose of the three presented case studies is to evaluate the state of affairs and identify newly emerging trends and patterns in the given trans-urban context. The methodology is based on qualitative anthropological research, emphasising an emic perspective that centralises respondents’ own lived experiences and worldviews. The main research’s findings made evident that interactions between Muslims and Jews in each examined location are, to various extents, acknowledged, and in some cases, also embody a formative part of public discourses. Perhaps the most visible manifestations of these relations are represented by the ambitious interfaith projects that were recently established in each geographical area in focus. The Abrahamic Family House (UEA), The House of One (GE), and The Community of Conscience (PL) reveal the aspirations of multi-faith religious leaders to overcome polarising dichotomies and search for common ground. One of the conclusive outcomes of the study is a somewhat diminishing impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the Jewish-Muslim relations; however, the extent differs in each destination in focus. Finally, an unpredicted observation can be made. A surfacing inclination towards embracing a joint Muslim-Jewish Middle Eastern identity was perceived.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia problematykę budżetu partycypacyjnego jako szybko rozwijającego się współczesnego narzędzia partycypacji mieszkańców miast w zarządzaniu przestrzenią lokalną. Praca skupia się na korzyściach z wprowadzenia budżetu partycypacyjnego, który jest wspólny dla władz i społeczności lokalnej. Przedstawia też zagrożenia dla tego narzędzia partycypacji społecznej, w tym jedno z największych, jakim jest słabnące zainteresowanie mieszkańców uczestnictwem w jego tworzeniu i realizacji. Główna hipoteza artykułu zakłada w tym wypadku, że najsilniej problem frekwencyjny związany z uczestnictwem ludności miejskiej w budżecie partycypacyjnym dotyka dużych miast, co potwierdza analiza funkcjonowania tego narzędzia w największych polskich miastach, w latach 2014–2018. W podsumowaniu wyników analizy, w artykule podkreślono, że budżet partycypacyjny w dużych polskich miastach nadal pozostaje narzędziem nie do końca ugruntowanym i skutecznym. Wymaga także kolejnych lat pracy władz lokalnych i samego społeczeństwa, aby stać się narzędziem bardziej upowszechnionym społecznie, tak w zakresie wiedzy o nim samym, jak i obywatelskiego uczestnictwa w jego tworzeniu i realizacji.
The article presents issues related to the participatory budget as fast-developing contemporary tool of residents’ participation in local space management. It focuses on the benefits of the participatory budget shared by authorities and local communities. The article also presents threats to that vehicle of social participation, including one of the key ones, i.e. the weakening interest shown by residents in its creation and implementation. The main premise of the article in this case is that large cities are the most effected by the weak attendance of urban population in voting on the participatory budget, which is confirmed by the analysis of the functioning of the tool in question in Poland’s largest cities in the period 2014–2018. In the summary of the results of the analysis, the article highlights the fact that the participatory budget in large Polish cities continues to be not fully established or effective. It also requires further years of work of local authorities and society itself to become more popular among the public, both in terms of knowledge about it and civic participation in its creation and implementation.
