Opis:: The term “competence” owes its interdisciplinary character to the richness of its semantic contest. Hence, it is used in various scientific disciplines, including the social sciences. The objective of the following article is to look more closely at the notion of competence, that is, how is has been approached in psychology from the late 1950 till today. The article aims at presenting the issues related to the conceptualization of competence. Furthermore, some ambiguities in the nomenclature used by researchers and theoreticians as well as in the way competence is presents have been noticed. It has provoked the author of this article to formulate some specifications. Some efforts have been made to systematize the knowledge in this area. The analsis of competence has finally resulted in the defining personality competence indicators and formulating the basis to mark them out from personal competences. As an illustration of the latter temporal competences have been discussed in some detail.

Opis:: The purpose of our article is to analyze the main differences between sociolinguistic competence and pragmatic competence, integrated within communicative competence. Firstly, we will try to define, characterize, and exemplify the tools inherent to sociolinguistic competence in comparison with pragmatic competence. We will present that courtesy formulas in language teaching should be included within the pragmatic competence and not sociolinguistic as it has been done usually. To do this, we will use the multilingual competence on which the CEFR-CV (2020) places considerable emphasis. Likewise, the concepts of sociolinguistic and pragmatic competences will be explained taking as a starting point the components of communicative competence which, in turn, encompasses intercultural competences. On the other hand, we will also deal with the role and challenges of the intercultural speaker as a mediator of pragmatic, sociolinguistic and sociocultural meanings. In the last part of the article, we will focus on the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language (hereinafter ELE), specifically, on the development of communicative competence from a sociolinguistic and pragmatic perspective. We will analyze some ELE manuals to reflect on and show the work proposals related to pragmatic and sociolinguistic knowledge (especially at level A1) carried out by their authors.

Opis:: The realm of business is the realm of hard facts, profit and loss statements, tough competition and merciless battle for market share. The reality is that business survival is almost always at stake in our turbulent times. There is no denying that it is the competence of business people that plays a key role in business success. This paper discusses the concept of competence from the perspective of the anthropocentric theory, i.e. viewed as an inherent property of a human being. The author also presents an overview of the selected concepts of competence, discursive competence and intercultural competence in international business. The author points to potential risks related to the expansion of business activity into foreign markets, including the risks resulting from cultural differences. The selected issues of negotiation in international business are also discussed in the last section of the paper.

Opis:: The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between personal, business, management, and social skills and the entrepreneurship program of students from an educational institution with an entrepreneurial profile in the creation of micro and small companies. The type of research was quantitative, correlational, and non-experimental. The subjects were 320 students from the field of economic and administrative sciences. The instrument was validated by four professors from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Autonomous University of Coahuila, Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Ecate-pec, and the Technological Institute of Sonora and had two sections. In the first, there were 17 general information questions, and the second contained 45 questions on a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. Regarding the results, it was demonstrated that personal, business, management, and social skills as well as skills developed in educational programs are significant and have a positive relationship with the entrepreneurial profile for the creation of micro and small businesses. The study provides the basis for other studies that seek to assess the skills of entrepreneurs and the creation of micro and small businesses.

Opis:: The main purpose of this article is to present the development and evolution of two fundamental components of the communicative competence in the teaching of foreign languages: pragmatics and interculturality. We will analyze different visions of pragmatic competence and intercultural competence, which are sometimes treated as synonymous concepts. We will focus our attention on the problems observed in class as a consequence of the great diversity of cultural contexts in which Spanish is learned, highlighting the importance of activating the development of both competences in class and the need to learn to negotiate linguistic and cultural meanings within a cultural context different from that of the target language. Finally, we will present the results of a study carried out with students from a Polish and a German university, whose objective was to analyze the previous attitudes of students from different faculties towards two competences that should always go hand in hand: pragmatics and interculturality.
