Opis:: The current labor market requires dynamic and broadly competent university graduates. An international trend is to promote the teaching of transversal competences. These are not only related to a particular study program or future profession, but are universally applicable in different professions, thus promoting job mobility and flexibility of persons. This is a system of competence-based learning. Universities are currently undergoing paradigmatic changes in the university education system. The paper monitors international and home experiences and recommendations for the development of the competences that prepare graduates for life in society. It specially examines the position of the students´ social and ethical competences. These findings are compared with the results of own research focused on the development of students' ethical competences through the Professional Ethics course at EF UMB.

Opis:: The competence-based learning-teaching process is a significant approach to the didactical process organization. In this paper the mathematical model of the competence-based learning-teaching process is proposed. The model integrates three models: a knowledge representation model (based on the ontological approach), a motivation model (as a behavioral-incentive model) and a servicing model (in a form of the queuing model). The proposed integrated model allows to control the learning-teaching process on different levels of management. The learning-teaching process can be interpreted as competence-based due to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) philosophy. We assume that the competence is a result of fundamental, procedural and project knowledge acquisition in accordance to the incoming European Qualification Framework.

Opis:: W artykule wyjaśniono istotę pojęcia "kompetencji zawodowych nauczyciela przyszłości" i "działań związanych z projektem nauczyciela przyszłości". Scharakteryzowano główne aspekty stosowania modelu edukacji opartej na projektach i oceny parametrów projektowych zewnętrznej oceny projektu. Opisano praktyczne zastosowanie kształcenia opartego na projektach, jako środek kształtowania kompetencji zawodowych przyszłych nauczycieli na podstawie analizy przykładu szkolenia "Podstawy multimediów".
The article highlights the concepts of “professional competency of a future teacher” and “project activity of a future teacher”. The main aspects for the usage of the projectbased learning and the valuation parameters of external project evaluation are pointed out. The specifics of the usage of project-based learning as a means of professional competence formation of future teachers in the process of studying the course of “Fundamentals of multimedia” are examined.
В статье освещаются понятия «профессиональной компетентности будущего учителя" и "проектной деятельности будущего учителя". Основные аспекты для использования в проектного обучения и оценки параметров внешнего оценки проекта указал. Специфика использования проектной основе обучения как средство формирования профессиональной компетентности будущих учителей в процессе изучения курса «Основы мультимедиа" рассматриваются.

Opis:: The professional world calls for well-trained translators capable of mediating between professional cultures. Thefunctional social constructivist approach with its authentic or simulated teaching has been recently followed eagerly within academia for bridging the gap between formal education and the market [Vienne, 1994; Risku, 2002; Kiraly 2000, 2005, Biel 2011, Garant 2013]. Nonetheless, not enough attention, has been paid to translation teaching in the light of the social theory of learning with its meaning, practice, community and identity [Wenger 1998a]. After Bhatia, we ask: to what extent should pedagogical practices reflect or account for the realities of the world of discourse? [Bhatia 2004, p. 232; 2016]. The situated learning of the context-dependent approach, under which learners are exposed to real-life work environments both inside (highly simulated) and outside the classroom [Gonzalez 2016], enables prospectivetranslators to climb the ladder of professional translation competence (TC). Learning becomes an issue of participationin professional socio-embedded discourse. We present the case of LSP translation teaching to undergraduate English Philology students under two modes: firstly, simulation of authentic translation agency jobs; secondly, authentic external apprenticeship among CoP members. Acting as peripheral participants (PP) of the translation Community of Practice, the novices not only acquire more linguistic skills but also the know-how typical for the translators-practitioners community. The empirical study illustrates how the peripheral position of the trainee, through “learning as transformation” [Mezirow, 1991], is being modelled by the student themselves (participation and self-reflection), the teacher- facilitator, and the members of the authentic Communities of Practice (CoP). The aforementioned evolution is seen from the perspective of a questionnaire done among the trainees. The findings are gathered and discussed.

Opis:: The article focuses on the development and implementation of project-based learning as an effective means of developing environmental competence among primary school students. It presents cases of successful projects implemented in schools and identifies their impact on learning outcomes that meet the regulatory requirements of the State Standard of Primary Education of Ukraine. The research problem addresses the formation of environmental competence in primary school students through project-based learning in the lessons of the integrated course “I Explore the World”. The study employed a mixed- -methods approach, incorporating theoretical methods (analysis of scientific literature and regulatory documents) and empirical methods (pedagogical observation, analysis of student work, and testing of educational materials). The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of the relationships between human activity and the state of nature, as well as heightened interest and activity in observing environmentally appropriate behavior in everyday life, which confirms the effectiveness of the project-based activities covered in the lessons.

Opis:: Článek přináší informace a zkušenosti s projektovou výukou mediální výchovy studentů katedry informačních a komunikačních technologií Pedagogické fakulty Ostravské univerzity (dále katedra ICT), tedy budoucích učitelů na základních a středních školách. Tato výuková metoda, při které studenti realizují projekt vlastních novin, se velmi osvědčila, protože vlastní tvůrčí a produkční činnost (learning by doing) je velmi účinná při posilování motivace, dlouhodobém zapamatování znalostí a získávání dovedností. Mediální výchova v tomto pojetí je na katedře ICT zaměřena prakticky. V jednotlivých částech studenti získávají přehled o základech žurnalistiky, digitální fotografie, zvuku a videa. Rozvoj mediální gramotnosti u studentů oboru Informační technologie ve vzdělávání má rovněž pozitivní vliv na posilování jejich informačních kompetencí.
The article presents information and experience with media education project teaching students of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Pedagogical Faculty of Ostrava University (Department of ICT), that future teachers in primary and secondary schools. This teaching method in which students carry out a project of its own newspaper, proved very useful, because the creative and production activities (learning by doing) is very effective in enhancing motivation, long-term memorization of knowledge and skills. Media education in this concept is the Department of ICT focused practice. In the individual chapters, students gain an overview of the basics of journalism, digital photos, audio and video. Developing media literacy among students majoring in Information Technology in Education also has a positive effect on strengthening their information skills.

Marina Klimenko, a senior lecturer at the Universi-ty of Florida, developed an innovative digital textbook entitled Research Methods in the Social Sciences (2020) with the focus on investigative psychology. The edition was powered by the e-learn-ing portal and published by Sentia Publishing. The author’s own epistemological and research expertise is combined here with her competence in higher education didactics. Klimenko’s textbook seems to be perfectly tailored for prospective researchers – and useful for various disciplines representing the social sciences and humanities.
