Opis:: We consider Helmholtz problems in two and three dimensions. The topological sensitivity of a given cost function J(uɛ) with respect to a small hole Bɛ around a given point x0ɛ ∈ Bɛ ⊂ Ω depends on various parameters, like the frequency k chosen or certain material parameters or even the shape parameters of the hole Bɛ. These parameters are either deliberately chosen in a certain range, as, e.g., the frequencies, or are known only up to some bounds. The problem arises as to whether one can obtain a uniform design using the topological gradient. We show that for 2-d and 3-d Helmholtz problems such a robust design is achievable.

Opis:: Addressing the intricate challenges in plane elasticity, especially with non-vanishing traction and complex geometries, requires innovative methods. This paper offers a novel approach, drawing inspiration from the Neumann problem for the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equations. Our method applies to domains conformally equivalent to a unit disk or an annulus, focusing on deriving explicit solutions for the displacement field rather than the stress tensor, which distinguishes it from most traditional approaches. We explore solutions for specific classical cases to demonstrate its efficacy, such as a cardioid domain, a ring domain with a shifted hole, and a gear-like structure. This work enhances the toolkit for researchers and practitioners tackling isotropic planar elastostatic challenges with a unified and flexible approach.

Opis:: The apparatus of holomorphic functions of many complex variables is applied to solving spatial boundary value problems of the linear theory of elasticity. The construction of the solution of the boundary value problem is based on the representation of the displacement vector in the form of J. Dougall through spatial harmonic potentials. The transition from spatial harmonic potentials to holomorphic functions of two complex variables z1, z2 was carried out and a boundary value problem for the above functions was formulated. By presenting these holomorphic functions in the form of homogeneous polynomials of order k relative to complex variables z1 , z2 , solutions were constructed by the method of development of the complex tensor of stresses by basic states. The application of this technique is illustrated in the examples of marginal problems, the real components of solutions that correspond to the solutions of Grashof’s problem for an elastic beam. Imaginary components of exact analytical solutions are obtained and corresponding structures of external load vectors for elastic beams of complex cross-section are constructed.

Opis:: Our study describes the relationship of second language learning motivation, self-efficacy, and anxiety; that is, how motivation, cognition, and affect might interact during the process of second language learning. Questionnaire data were collected from 236 Hungarian students studying at various secondary schools. Structural equation modeling was used to investigate the proposed circular relationship of students’ motivated learning behavior, language learning experience, self-efficacy beliefs, and both debilitating and facilitating anxiety. Our results indicate that: (a) the process of motivation is complex and influenced by other individual difference (ID) variables, and (b) the investigation of ID variables in constellations rather than in isolation seems to be more fruitful in understanding language learner differences.

Tytuł:: Powierzchnie minimalne i zmienne zespolone
Minimal surfaces and complex variables

Opis:: Thesis presents the relationship between minimal surfaces and complex variables. The first chapter describes concepts such as surface, shape operator and mean curvature, which lead to the definition of the minimal surface. The second chapter presents the relation between the minimal surface, isothermal parameterization and harmonic functions. In the third chapter, the basic information about complex variables and the equations of Cauchy-Riemann were disclosed. The fourth chapter shows the claim that there are isothermal coordinates on each minimum surface. The last chapter presents two representations of minimal surfaces, the so-called Weierstrass-Enneper parameterization and example of the Catalan surface.
Praca przedstawia związek między powierzchniami minimalnymi i zmiennymi zespolonymi. W rozdziale pierwszym znajdują się pojęcia takie jak powierzchnia, operator kształtu czy krzywizna średnia, które prowadzą do zdefiniowania powierzchni minimalnej. Rozdział drugi przedstawia zależność między powierzchnią minimalną, parametryzacją izotermiczną i funkcjami harmonicznymi. W rozdziale trzecim zostały przypomniane podstawowe wiadomości o zmiennych zespolonych oraz przedstawione równania Cauchy`ego-Riemanna. Czwarty rozdział pokazuje twierdzenie, które mówi, że na każdej powierzchni minimalnej istnieją współrzędne izotermiczne. Ostatni rozdział przedstawia dwie reprezentacje powierzchni minimalnych, tzw. reprezentacje Weierstrassa-Ennepera oraz przykład powierzchni Catalana.

Opis:: W artykule podjęto próbę jednoczesnego wykorzystania cech ilościowych oraz jakościowych w ocenie zjawiska złożonego. W pierwszej kolejności przedstawiono kilka – często spotykanych w opracowaniach empirycznych – metod normowania z uwzględnieniem ich własności. Szczególna uwagę poświęcono metodzie unitaryzacji zerowanej, wskazując na jej przydatność w jednoczesnym procesie normowania z cechami jakościowymi. W dalszej części artykułu zaproponowano metody kwantyfikacji oraz normowania wybranych cech jakościowych. Całość związana z normowaniem, wyznaczaniem zmiennej statystycznej oraz budową rankingu, zilustrowano przykładem.
The paper presents an attempt to use both quantitative and qualitative veriables to analyze complex phenomena. First part of the paper focuses some normalisation methods that often occur in empirical works regarding their characteristics. Special attention concerns zero unitarization method due its adequacy in normalising both quantitative and qualitative veriables. The latter part of the paper presents the metod of quantification and normalization chosen qualitative variables. The whole procedure of normalization, construction of synthetic variable and ranking is illustrated by empirical example.

Opis:: Problematyka opracowania dotyczy sposobu realizacji kompleksowych prac scalenia i wymiany gruntów we wsiach podzielonych autostradą. Badania składały się z dwóch etapów. W pierwszym z nich do określenia stopnia destrukcji struktury przestrzennej gruntów we wsiach przeciętych autostradą opracowano algorytm. Określa on kolejność podejmowania prac scalenia i wymiany gruntów we wsiach podzielonych autostradą. W celu ustalenia hierarchizacji podejmowania prac scalenia i wymiany konieczne było określenie odpowiednich zmiennych diagnostycznych związanych bezpośrednio z przebiegiem autostrady przez badaną wieś. Następnie, korzystając z metody bez wzorca, opartej na procedurze unitaryzacji zerowej bez redukcji zbioru zmiennych (bez redukcji API), można zbadać, w jakiej kolejności trzeba rozpocząć realizację tych prac w danej wsi. Drugim etapem badań było opracowanie sposobu prowadzenia kompleksowych prac scalenia i wymiany gruntów we wsiach podzielonych autostradą, z wyszczególnieniem etapów, faz i zadań.
This paper issue relates to the method of implementing complex work of consolidation and exchange of land in the villages divided by a highway. The study consisted of two stages. In the first one, in order to determine the degree of destruction of land spatial structure in villages crossed by a highway an algorithm was developed. It specifies the order necessary to undertake consolidation and exchange land in the villages divided by the highway. In order to determine the hierarchy of undertaking consolidation and exchange work, it was necessary to determine the appropriate diagnostic variables directly related to the route of the highway through the analyzed village. Then, using the method without a pattern, based on the zero unitarisation procedure without reducing the set of variables (without API reduction), you can examine what order you have to follow to complement this work in the analyzed village. The second stage of the study was to develop a method of realizing complex work of consolidation and exchange of land in the villages divided by the highway including the division into stages, phases and tasks.

Particular attention is paid here to the method of resettlement universes, indicating its usefulness and accuracy. The whole related to the normalization, determination of the synthetic variable and the construction of the ranking is illustrated by an example.
