Opis:: The problem to find an optimal distribution of elastic moduli within a given plane domain to make the compliance minimal under the condition of a prescribed value of the integral of the trace of the elastic moduli tensor is called the free material design with the trace constraint. The present paper shows that this problem can be reduced to a new problem of minimization of the integral of the stress tensor norm over stresses being statically admissible. The eigenstates and Kelvin’s moduli of the optimal Hooke tensor are determined by the stress state being the minimizer of this problem. This new problem can be directly treated numerically by using the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) method to represent the statically admissible stress fields, along with any unconstrained optimization tool, e.g.: Conjugate Gradient (CG) or Variable Metric (VM) method in multidimensions.

Opis:: Optimization of structural topology, called briefly: topology optimization, is a relatively new branch of structural optimization. Its aim is to create optimal structures, instead of correcting the dimensions or changing the shapes of initial designs. For being able to create the structure, one should have a possibility to handle the members of zero stiffness or admit the material of singular constitutive properties, i.e. void. In the present paper, four fundamental problems of topology optimization are discussed: Michell’s structures, two-material layout problem in light of the relaxation by homogenization theory, optimal shape design and the free material design. Their features are disclosed by presenting results for selected problems concerning the same feasible domain, boundary conditions and applied loading. This discussion provides a short introduction into current topics of topology optimization.

Compliance w prawie pracy oraz minimalizowanie ryzyka dyskryminacji w zatrudnieniu pracowników publicznych uczelni wyższych

Opis:: Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest zagadnieniom związanym z compliance w prawie pracy oraz minimalizacji ryzyka dyskryminacji w zatrudnieniu pracowników publicznych uczelni wyższych w Polsce. Część teoretyczna pracy jest skupiona na dziedzinie compliance w prawie pracy i zawiera przedstawienie oraz definicję pojęć podstawowych dla omawianej tematyki. Ponadto omówione zostały źródła norm compliance, a także środki compliance w prawie pracy. Zakończeniem części pierwszej jest zestawienie dziedziny compliance w prawie pracy z funkcjami prawa pracy oraz omówienie funkcji compliance, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem katalogu funkcji compliance w prawie pracy. Część dogmatyczna poświęcona jest ryzyku dyskryminacji w zatrudnieniu. Przedstawienie i ocena wskazanego ryzyka, uwzględniająca specyfikę publicznej uczelni wyższej oraz dogmatyczną analizę przepisów z zakresu prawa pracy, poprzedza w tym przypadku dokonaną przez autora analizę aktów prawa wewnętrznego uczelni pod kątem minimalizowania wskazanego ryzyka. Niniejsze opracowanie skupia się przy tym na wskazaniu znaczenia compliance dla prawa pracy, wyznaczaniu jego funkcji i przedstawieniu możliwości jego wykorzystania w realizacji obowiązków pracodawcy wynikających z przepisów prawa pracy. Oprócz wskazania głównych problemów, praca zakończona jest oceną aktualnego stanu wykorzystania środków compliance przez publiczne uczelnie wyższe w Polsce, a także przedstawieniu możliwych zmian de lege ferenda.
This paper is devoted to issues related to compliance in labour law and to minimising the risk of discrimination in the employment of employees of public higher education institutions in Poland. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the field of compliance in labour law and includes the presentation and definition of basic notions for the discussed topic. Furthermore, the sources of compliance standards as well as compliance measures in labour law are discussed. The first part concludes with a comparison of the field of compliance in labour law with the functions of labour law and a discussion of the functions of compliance, with particular emphasis on the catalogue of compliance functions in labour law. The dogmatic part is devoted to the risk of discrimination in employment. The presentation and assessment of the indicated risk, taking into account the specifics of a public higher education institution and the dogmatic analysis of the labour law regulations, precedes in this case the author's analysis of the internal acts of the university in terms of minimising the indicated risk. At the same time, this study focuses on indicating the significance of compliance for labour law, determining its functions and presenting the possibility of its use in the implementation of the employer's obligations under labour law. In addition to indicating the main problems, the paper ends with an assessment of the current state of the use of compliance measures by public universities in Poland, as well as presenting possible de lege ferenda changes.
