Opis:
Multilayered Muszyna regional model was constructed in the ArcGIS and the GMS environment. Among the several methods for implementing the model in the GMS system the LPF method was used to create a structure of the model. Conceptual model is a spatial arrangement of the fixed structure, which can be automatically divided in grid blocks of different densities. The studied area is located within an open hydrogeological structure in the Carpathian mountain basin. Regional model takes into account the presence of complex fold and fault structures as well as the interaction between groundwater, and surface water as well as fresh water with mineral water. Within the model were separated 10 layers with different hydrogeological characteristics. The first layer includes Pleistocene–Holocene deposits. All other layers are built of fissured-porous flysch rocks. The hydraulic conductivities in studied flysch rocks decreases exponentially with depth. The most permeable subsurface zone is about 100 m thick. The experience gained from modelling for the Muszyna region show effectiveness of the principles of the creation of regional hydrogeological models. Such a quasi 3D model seems to be a good tool to carry out the rational exploitation of fresh and mineral water in a complex groundwater flow system.

Opis:
In order to obtain the most realistic outcome in geochemical modeling, a few basic assumptions described in the article should be made. The simplified representation (description) of actual hydrogeological system (as a set of working hypotheses and assumptions which could be verified on the basis of existing data) must be a starting point in geochemical modeling. After positive verification of the conceptual model, the following stage of work as a creation of numerical algorithm (geochemical model) can be done. The current degree of recognition of the system allows its reliable representation as a series ofdata and assumptions entered into a computer program. The operating principles of the program itself should also be known to avoid treating the calculations as a typical "black box” where on the one hand the data are put in and on the other we obtain the result. An adoption of such approach generates typical errors shown in the article and causes obtaining false results.

Opis:
The article is devoted to the analyses of the conceptual metaphors “Time and Coor- dinate Space” in the literary Russian language history. The principles of forming the conceptual Time-models in the Old Russian language have been discovered. The two most  productive models have been stated. In the first model, time is active and moves on the horizontal datum linę; man is static but it is exactly he who takes the central position, which has been perceived as the Present. The second model is also connected with the idea of horizontal moving. But in this model, the man becomes active and moves on the Time coordinate. One can see the increasing productiveness of these conceptual meta- phors in diachronic approach. The number of members of this metaphorical field incre- ases significantly as well as the system of the relationship between them becomes morę ti- ghtly knit. There is the following tendency of the relationship between man and time in diachronic approach from the conceptual point of view. In the Old Russian language time was mostly regarded as something objective and existing independently from a man. But in the contemporary Russian literary language the active influence of a man on the time is becoming possible. This category combines both objective and subjective ąualities. Thus, anthropocentrism of the relationship “Man and Time” becomes stronger.

A conceptual model is a high-level, graphical representation of a specic domain, presenting its key concepts and relationships between them. In particular, these dependencies can be inferred from concepts' instances being a part of big raw data les. The paper aims to propose a method for constructing a conceptual model from data frames encompassed in data les. The result is presented in the form of a class diagram. The method is explained with several examples and veried by a case study in which the real data sets are processed. It can also be applied for checking the quality of the data set.

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) play a crucial role in societies as they enhance the sustainable development of nations. In a context of increasing competition and financial difficulties in higher education institutions, the loyalty of students, faculty and administration staff as well as institutional reputation are key factors for survival and success. They are built upon trust and high quality of services rendered by HEIs. The intentional development of trust serves the purpose of enhancing the quality culture in higher education. The concept of quality culture has become a natural successor of quality management and quality assurance in universities presenting a new perspective for viewing quality at HEIs - as a combination of structural and managerial with cultural and psychological components. This paper provides an elaboration of a novel Trust-Based Quality Culture Conceptual Model for Higher Education Institutions which presents the perceived interconnections between trust and quality culture at HEIs. It can form a source for an inquiry process at HEIs, thus contributing to better contextual diagnosis of the stage where HEI is in the process of building the quality culture based on trust. The findings of this study are important in better understanding the quality culture development in HEIs that is based on trust, loyalty and reputation. It may have an impact on the decision-making processes concerning HEIs’ management. The proposed model contributes to the need for greater clarity, ordering and systematization of the role of trust in the processes of quality culture development.

Mergers in higher education institutions : a proposal of a novel conceptual model

Purpose - The macroeconomic changes as well as the challenges facing universities nowadays result in the transfer and adaptation of various concepts and organizational methods from enterprises to universities. One of such solutions is mergers. Even though there are a very large number of practical examples of university mergers in the world, at the same time there is a shortage of frameworks that would help manage mergers. The purpose of this paper is to present key areas of focus in HEIs' consolidation processes and the creation of the conceptual model of the universities' mergers. Design/methodology/approach - In this paper synthesis, the inductive approach for model development and case study description were used. The analysis and findings were based on the systematic literature review taken out from management and public policy areas. The new public management and public value governance approaches as well as strategic and process theories of mergers were applied. The descriptive approach to management was used as well. Findings - Formulation of a Conceptual Model of Universities' Mergers and ten principles of effective management of universities' mergers that cover the entire process, from planning, through implementation, to integration. Research limitations/implications - There is a need to verify the proposed inductive model of universities' mergers through further qualitative and mixed-methods research studies. Practical implications - The paper offers a significant opportunity for practical application of the presented content, because it indicates how the know-how from one (business) sector can be valuable for the future of another sector (the over-fragmented sector of higher education). Originality/value - This study presents the key areas of focus in HEIs' consolidation processes and proposes a novel Conceptual Model of Universities' Mergers. It concludes with the principles of effective management of universities' mergers.
