Opis:: The article is devoted to the issue of children’s confabulations, which often characterize preschool children and constitute a specific part of this developmental period. The text explains the phenomenon of confabulation, who else it may concern, and why younger children fantasize and tell untrue stories. It will also discuss the topic of lies, the causes of insincerity among children, and the broadly understood moral development of the youngest.

Opis:: Wyniki badań wskazują, iż świadkowie przestępstw, składając zeznania, często ulegająkonfabulacjom. W niniejszym badaniu zakładano, że skłonność do ulegania wymuszonymkonfabulacjom można określić na podstawie poziomu potrzeby domknięcia poznawczego.Zakładano, że wysoki poziom potrzeby domknięcia poznawczego będzie pozytywnie korelowałz uleganiem konfabulacjom. Badanie prezentowane w niniejszej pracy nie potwierdziło założeńbadacza, jednak zaleca się dalsze prace w tym kierunku, aby umożliwić ocenę wiarygodnościuzyskiwanych od świadka zeznań, co może stać się nieocenione w pracy wymiaru sprawiedliwości.
The results of the studies show, that witnesses of crimes, giving testimony, often lead to falsememories. This study assumes, that the tendency to compliance to forced confabulations can bedetermined on the basis of need for closure level. It was assumed that the high level of need forclosure would be positively correlated with compliance to forced confabulations. The studypresented in this thesis did not confirm the researcher’s assumption, but further research arerecommended in this direction, to allow the assessment of the credibility of the witness testimony,which may become invaluable in the work of the justice.
