Opis:: The article discusses the history of reforms of American religious sisters initiated by Pius XII and concluded by a joint agreement between the LCWR and the Commissions of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The article shows the character of the reforms undertaken before and after the Council and how two organizations representing American sisters were established. The continuous departure of the LCWR from the teaching of the Church is presented in opposition to the fidelity of the second organization with canonical status – CMSWR. The lack of vocations among the sisters gathered in the LCWR is a sign of mistakes in the reforms that were undertaken and politicization of the organization.

The main aspect of it is to present main thoughts on mass settings composed by Feicht and to give basic information about their performances given by the choir of theological seminary students of the Congregation of the Mission in Krakow-Stradom. Many of extant documents provide us with precise knowledge about the repertoire and solemnities during which it was sung. Except for performances, the article presents the praxis of performing requiem masses in the first half of the 20th century. Taking this context into consideration, the author presents a brief analysis of the Feicht’s Requiem Mass setting.

Opis:: This paper describes the reforms of American religious sisters started byPius XII until the recent closure of Archbishop Peter Sartain’s commission.The paper shows how the reforms of congregations were taken up beforeand after the Council and how the two organisations representing Americansisters were founded. The continual dissent of LCWR from Churchteachings is shown in contrast to the fidelity of the alternative canonicalorganization, namely CMSWR. The lack of new vocations among LCWRsisters is a sign of mistaken reforms and the lack of attractive power intheir political agenda.

Opis:: Refleksja nad misyjnym wymiarem charyzmatu sercańskiego wpisuje się w bogaty kontekst historii oraz duchowości życia zakonnego. Na przełomie XIX i XX wieku powstała we Francji większość instytutów zakonnych męskich i żeńskich w odpowiedzi na religijne i społeczne potrzeby ówczesnej Europy. Zakładane nowe zgromadzenia zakonne ubogacały Kościół specyficznymi formami czynnego życia apostolskiego, bazując na charyzmacie i misji swoich założycieli, a także bogatej duchowości zakonów mniszych, żebrzących i kleryckich. Osobiste pragnienie połączenia kapłaństwa z życiem zakonnym stało się dla ojca Leona Dehona inspiracją do założenia Zgromadzenia Księży Najświętszego Serca Jezusowego dla dobra Kościoła oraz osobistego uświęcenia jego członków.
The reflection upon the Dehonian mission charism fits into the rich context of the history of religious life. At the turn of the 19th and 20th century most of the religious orders for men and women in France came into being, as the response to the social needs of Europe of that time. Shaping of the new religious orders enriched the Church with the specific forms of apostolic life, based on charisms and missions of their founders, and the rich spirituality of the orders of monks, beggars and clerics. Personal desire to combine both priesthood and religious life became the inspiration for Fr. Leon John Dehon to found the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart for the benefit of the Church and for the personal sanctification of its members.

Opis:: In 2013, in Warmia there were organised celebrations devoted to the 400-year anniversary of the death of Blessed Regina Protmann, the foundress of the Congregation of the Devout Virgins of St. Catherine, Virgin and Martyr, commonly called „katarzynki”. On this occasion, a number of initiatives have been taken to remember the person but also the environment in which she lived and worked. Particular attention was paid to Braniewo, where she was born and where up till now there has stood a provincial house of the congregation. The article is therefore an attempt to present the situation in the city in the latter half of the 16th century. First of all, we focus on a dynamic development of education - a high school and a seminary were founded in 1565, and in 1578 there was established a papal seminary. Also, a boarding school for young people and a dormitory for poor students were built. All these institutions were administered by the Jesuits. Thanks to their pastoral work and the commitment of the bishops of Warmia, particularly Stanislaus Hosius and Marcin Kromer, they managed to avoid bringing Lutheranism despite the fact that the new religion had supporters among the members of the city council. The city developed as crafts and trade, which was facilitated by membership in the Hanseatic League. On the basis of vital records, it was found that on an average 215 children were baptized annually. Among the most popular names given for girls were Anna, then Gertruda and Barbara. Among the boys in the first place should be mentioned George, then John, Peter and Andrew. In 1586 the quintuplets were born. Registered marriages were much less - an average of 56 per year. The article also presents the appearance of the city, gives a list of parish priests and mayors of that period, the equipment temples and operations of hospitals. Based on the analyzes it can be concluded that Braniewo was a well-organized city with a well-functioning education at all levels of education. But pride to Braniewo was also brought by the foundress of the Congregation of the Devout Virgins of St. Catherine, Virgin and Martyr, Regina Protmann, whose sister from the beginning served in many dimensions of the social life: they took care of the sick, looked after the education of girls and were responsible for the decoration of churches. Participating in the 19th century in foreign missions they promoted the city of their foundress in many countries on different continents, especially in South America and Africa.

Opis:: The author of the article analyses the guidelines of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life New Wine in New Wineskins from the point of view of axiological personalism. This document looks with a critical eye at many realities of consecrated life in order to overcome its contemporary problems. It is possible to see structures of religious communities also in the light of Hildebrand’s theory of moral substitutes. To prevent axiological disturbances of the communities of consecrated life – individual conversion of their members is not enough but structural reforms are needed.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono źródła do dziejów Zgromadzenia Córek Bożej Miłości, znajdujące się w Generalnym Archiwum Zgromadzenia Córek Bożej Miłości w Wiedniu. Celem łatwiejszego zrozumienia poruszanych treści, we wstępie ukazano w krótkim zarysie charakter, organizację i działalność tej wspólnoty zakonnej. Powstałe w drugiej połowie XIX wieku Zgromadzenie stawiało sobie za cel pomoc dziewczętom migrującym ze wsi do miast w poszukiwaniu pracy oraz kształcenie dzieci i młodzieży w różnych typach szkół. Podejmowana przez siostry Córki Bożej Miłości działalność w zasadniczy sposób wpłynęła na charakter wytworzonej dokumentacji archiwalnej. Na rodzaj i rozmiar spuścizny aktowej generalnego zasobu archiwalnego wpływ miała również struktura Zgromadzenia. Do 1919 roku, czyli do momentu wyodrębnienia pierwszych czterech prowincji, zarządzane ono było centralnie przez przełożoną generalną i jej radę rezydującą w Domu Macierzystym w Wiedniu. W konsekwencji podziału na prowincje, większość dokumentacji pozostawała w kancelariach i archiwach prowincjalnych. Do archiwum generalnego trafiały jedynie akta bardziej selektywne. Zasób archiwum generalnego obejmuje dzisiaj zarówno akta całego Zgromadzenia, jak i akta poszczególnych prowincji. W artykule podano ogólny wykaz akt całego Zgromadzenia i dokonano krótkiej charakterystyki niektórych jednostek archiwalnych, wchodzących w skład poszczególnych grup i podgrup rzeczowych. Omówiono m.in. specyfikę takich archiwaliów, jak: kroniki generalne, Statuty, Reguły, Konstytucje oraz dokumentację związaną z ich opracowywaniem i zatwierdzaniem. Analizie poddano materiał dotyczący członkiń Zgromadzenia: księgi ewidencyjne sióstr i kandydatek, protokoły z posiedzeń Rady Prowincjalnej, spisy przełożonych i asystentek, akta personalne zmarłych sióstr, wspomnienia pośmiertne i nekrologi. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na materiały statystyczne i sprawozdawcze, które mogą posłużyć do opracowania tematyki związanej z działalnością Zgromadzenia, ponieważ ukazują m.in. liczebność poszczególnych grup osób, do których skierowana była działalność sióstr Córek Bożej Miłości. Rozwój Zgromadzenia można prześledzić również na podstawie jego korespondencji z urzędami kościelnymi i cywilnymi oraz źródeł dotyczących jego misji szkolno-wychowawczej, a także spuścizn członkiń. Zachowane akta stanowią wystarczającą bazę źródłową do opracowania dziejów Zgromadzenia.
The article presents the sources for the history of the Congregation of Daughters of Divine Love, located in the General Archives of the Congregation of Daughters of Divine Love in Vienna. In order to facilitate the understanding of the content, the introduction briefly outlines the nature, organization and activities of this religious community. Established in the second half of the 19th century, the Congregation aimed to help girls migrating from the countryside to cities in search of work and to educate children and youth in various types of schools. The activities undertaken by Daughters of Divine Love fundamentally influenced the nature of the archival documentation produced. The structure of the Congregation also influenced the type and size of the archival resources. Until 1919, that is until the establishment of the first four provinces, the Congregation was managed centrally by the superior general and her council residing at the Mother House in Vienna. As a result of division into provinces, most of the documentation remained in the provincial offices and archives. Only more selective files went to the general archive. The resources of the general archive now include both the files of the whole congregation and the files of individual provinces. The article gives a general list of files of the whole congregation and a brief description of some of the archival units included in particular groups and subgroups. Among others, the article specifies such archival materials as: general chronicles, Statutes, Rules, Constitutions and documentation related to their development and approval. It also analyses the material concerning the members of the Congregation: records of sisters and candidates, minutes from the meetings of the Provincial Council, lists of superiors and assistants, personal files of the dead sisters, posthumous memories and obituaries. Particular attention has been paid to statistical and reporting materials that can be used to develop topics related to the activities of the Congregation, as they show the number of particular groups to whom the Daughters of Divine Love directed their activities. The development of the Congregation can also be traced on the basis of its correspondence with church and civil offices as well as sources concerning its educational mission and the legacy of the Sisters. The preserved files constitute a sufficient source base for the development of the history of the Congregation.
