Corporate governance involves not only working out the relationship between a company and its shareholders, but also a search for consistency on a daily basis. When consistency is achieved, the shareholders’ satisfaction is higher and relations improve. Consistency is a prerequisite for a company’s effectiveness and efficiency, and it is the board’s task to make a corporation consistent. The first part of the paper introduces M. Flieger’s concept of corporate consistency, where platforms of consistency are introduced and the consistency model is proposed. This is the first time that such an introduction has been made, and this may lead to further discussion and research. The author points out that managers are rarely aware of the consistency problem, and there are no tools which enable a consistent system to be worked out. This makes the concept of corporate consistency worth investigating. In the second part of the paper, R. Kaminski focuses on the development of the European Union and Polish regulations, which were introduced as a consequence of the changing conditions in company activity. This section determines the content and sequence of the main issues discussed in the article. These include: the characteristics of the concept of a corporate governance system, the presentation of changes in regulations regarding a corporate governance system in the EU and the presentation of Polish regulations on corporate governance. The primary sources used in the work were literature and the rules and standards (mandatory and optional) on corporate governance. Both authors used descriptive analysis and the comparative method.

In the paper we are going to present the results of the research on selected statistical tests based on moments. In particular, the well-known Jarque-Bera test properties have been compared and contrasted with its modification proposed by White (1987). According to the outcomes of the simulation studies, the modified Jarque-Bera statistic is recommended as the normality test because the standard Jarque-Bera test is based on skewness and kurtosis and their distributions are derived under normality assumption.
W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań własności testów opartych na momentach. Ze względu na powszechne zastosowanie testu Jarque-Bera, zostały omówione własności tego testu w porównaniu z jego modyfikacją. W badaniach uwzględniono rozmiary testów i ich moc. W świetle uzyskanych wyników zmodyfikowana postać testu Jarque-Bera powinna być stosowana do badania normalności rozkładów, ponieważ standardowy test Jarque-Bera jest oparty na skośności i kurtozie, a ich rozkłady są wyprowadzane przy założonej normalności.

Współczesne uwarunkowania organizacyjne, takie jak zmienność otoczenia, automatyzacja i robotyzacja, zastosowanie sztucznej inteligencji oraz nowe pokolenia na rynku pracy powodują, że organizacje muszą poszukiwać sposobów harmonizacji różnych aspektów ich funkcjonowania. Jednym ze sposobów takiej harmonizacji jest zastosowanie założeń koncepcji spójności. Koncepcja ta zakłada identyfikację płaszczyzn spójności oraz jej elementów składowych wraz z mechanizmami ich dostosowania. Konieczne jest również opracowanie mierników spójności dla poszczególnych płaszczyzn. Menadżerowie, chcąc skutecznie identyfikować przyczyny patologii organizacyjnych muszą mieć świadomość spójności oraz powinni stosować założenia koncepcji spójności. W ten sposób możliwa jest trafna diagnoza organizacyjna i wiele patologii związanych z brakiem spójności może zostać wyeliminowanych na trwałe. Patologie te mają różny charakter, wiele z nich przyczynia się do pogorszenia sytuacji finansowej organizacji i utraty pozycji konkurencyjnej. Przesłankami podjęcia tematu prezentowanego w opracowaniu jest konieczność poszukiwania sposobów zwiększania efektywności organizacyjnej w świetle rosnącej presji konkurencyjnej oraz konieczność budowania świadomości zastosowania koncepcji spójności organizacyjnej. Ważną przesłanką jest także uzasadnienie konieczności zapewnienia spójności prezentowanymi patologiami organizacyjnymi, wynikającymi z braku spójności. Hipotezą opracowania jest stwierdzenie, że brak spójności organizacyjnej prowadzi do wielu różnych patologii w organizacji, a to z kolei może przyczynić się do spadku jej efektywności. Powyższe wykazane zostało badaniami empirycznymi w postaci wywiadów indywidualnych z przedstawicielami szczebli zarządczych organizacji. Badania pokazały jednoznacznie, że postawioną hipotezę należy zweryfikować pozytywnie. 
The contemporary organisational environment is characterised by turbulence, automation, robots, implementation of AI and new generations in the labour market. These characteristics make it necessary to search for ways to stay consistent. One of such ways is the implementation of the consistency concept, whose main idea is to identify consistency platforms, and therefore also the elements that comprise these platforms and the mechanisms that must be implemented to make them consistent. It is also necessary to work out the consistency measures for particular platforms. Managers who want to identify the causes of organisational pathologies must understand the consistency concept and the ways to implement it in practice. This way, a proper organisational diagnosis is possible and the many organisational pathologies resulting from the lack of consistency can be eliminated. These pathologies have different natures and many of them worsen the financial situation of organisations. They also weaken the competitive position of organisations in the long term. The reasons to present the consistency concept is the necessity to search for new ways of increasing organisational effectiveness. This necessity results from higher competition pressure. It is also necessary to build the awareness of the consistency concept and its implementation. It is also important to connect the lack of consistency with organisational pathologies. The hypothesis of the paper says that a lack of consistency results in many organisational pathologies, and these pathologies may result in a decrease of organisational effectiveness. This connection between the lack of consistency and pathologies in organisations was researched in organisations by conducting individual interviews with managers. The research results show clearly that the hypothesis is true and the lack of consistency leads to many organisational pathologies.

Opis:
Results of investigations of shearing resistance and compressibility of fine-grained cohesive soil from the southern part of the wielkopolskie voivodeship in relation to the increasing moisture content are presented. The analysis of two series of samples, using soil paste for the consistency index of 0.9 and 0.4–0.3 was carried out. The results imply that the increasing moisture content causes a decrease in the angle of shearing resistance and cohesion and is also reflected in the higher compressibility of the soil. It was observed that regardless of the soil consistency, the angle of shearing resistance decreases and the cohesion value and the oedometric modulus of primary (consolidation) and secondary compressibility grows with the increase in the clay fraction.

Opis:
Testing the consistency of theoretical income distributions with the empirical ones is a very important problem in income distribution analysis. Most of well known goodness-of-fit tests cannot be used to solve this problem because the parameters of the population are usually not known and the samples are very large. In the paper we present the main properties of the Cox statistic which is based on likelihood ratio. The presented results were obtained by means of the Monte Carlo experiment. The theoretical distributions most often used in income distribution analysis as the gamma, lognormal, Dagum and Singh-Maddala were taken into consideration.
W analizie rozkładów płac i dochodów istotnym problemem jest badanie zgodności rozkładów empirycznych z teoretycznymi. Większość znanych testów zgodności nie może być stosowana do badania tego zagadnienia ze względu na fakt, że parametry zbiorowości generalnej nie są na ogół znane, a rozważane próby są często bardzo liczne. W artykule przedstawione zostały podstawowe własności testu zgodności Coxa opartego na ilorazie wiarygodności. Prezentowane wyniki otrzymano metodą Monte Carlo. Rozważane były rozkłady teoretyczne najczęściej wykorzystywane w analizie płac i dochodów: gamma, logarytmiczno-normalny, Daguma i Singha-Maddali.

Opis:
Multithreshold Entropy Linear Classifier (MELC) is a recent classifier idea which employs information theoretic concept in order to create a multithreshold maximum margin model. In this paper we analyze its consistency over multithreshold linear models and show that its objective function upper bounds the amount of misclassified points in a similar manner like hinge loss does in support vector machines. For further confirmation we also conduct some numerical experiments on five datasets.

The Cox proportional hazards model has become the most widely used procedure in survival analysis. The theoretical basis of the original model has been developed in various extensions. In the recent years, vital research has been undertaken involving the incorporation of random effects to survival models. In this setting, the random effect is a variable (frailty) which embraces a variation among individuals or groups of individuals which cannot be explained by observable covariates. The right choice of the frailty distribution is essential for an accurate description of the dependence structure present in the data. In this paper, we aim to investigate the accuracy of inference based on the primer Cox model in the existence of unobserved heterogeneity, that is, when the data generating mechanism is more complex than presumed and described by the kind of an extension of the Cox model with undefined frailty. We show that the conventional partial likelihood estimator under the considered extension is Fisher-consistent up to a scaling factor, provided symmetry-type distributional assumptions on covariates. We also present the results of simulation experiments that reveal an exemplary behaviour of the estimators.
