Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono problem wypadkowości w dziedzinie budownictwie w oparciu o dane statystyczne. Omówiono funkcję kierownika budowy oraz przepisy prawne (Prawo budowlane, Kodeks pracy, Kodeks cywilny), które określają zakres jego obowiązków oraz odpowiedzialność w przypadku zaniedbań mogących doprowadzić do utraty zdrowia lub życia ludzi. Opisano przykład zaistniałego wypadku, a także kary dla kierownika budowy z tytułu odpowiedzialności zawodowej. W podsumowaniu przedstawiono rolę dziennika budowy, jako dokumentu dowodowego w postępowaniu dyscyplinarnym prowadzonym przeciwko kierownikowi budowy. Przedstawiono również przykład dobrych praktyk, które dotyczyły analizowania sytuacji związanych z zaistnieniem danego wypadku.
In this article the author have presented Polish construction accident statistics, described a construction manager function and the Polish regulations (Building code, Labour code, Civil Code) which determine the manager’s responsibilities in the case of negligence that could have a negative effect on people’s health and lives. The example of accident and penalties for a construction manager in respect of professional liability were shown. In conclusion the role of building diary as documentary evidence in the disciplinary proceedings against the construction manager was described. There was also presented the examples of good practice in the accident occurrence situations analysis.

Opis:: The need for modernization of curricula is growing with the development of new technologies to support teaching, changes in business strategy of universities in Poland and European Union, and development of the society. In response to these changes, at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Poznan University of Technology, new English-language specialty master studies - Construction Technology Management was launched in March 2014. Studies are based on the cooperation between the student, the industry and the university, allowing students to get to know the specifics of the construction industry. In addition, Poznan University of Technology is involved in an MBAIC project MBA in construction aimed at common study for postgraduates. The synergy achieved through the implementation of these two projects enables the possibility to educate construction managers capable of communication in English, possessing knowledge regarding innovation in the construction industry, who are well prepared to enter the labour market and have the possibility of subsequent improvement of managerial competences.
Obecnie na Wydziale Budownictwa i Inżynierii Środowiska Politechniki Poznańskiej realizowane są dwa międzynarodowe projekty związane z modernizacją programów nauczania menedżerów budowlanych mające na celu stworzenie nowych możliwości kształcenia. Projekty ukierunkowane są na wprowadzenie silnych relacji pomiędzy studentem, partnerami z przemysłu a uczelnią oraz wprowadzanie nowych programów nauczania mając na uwadze opinie szerokich gremiów (uczelnie, partnerzy z przemysłu, organizacje branżowe, absolwenci, studenci, itp.). Wiąże się do także z wprowadzeniem nowych przedmiotów w programie studiów związanych z wykorzystaniem wiedzy teoretycznej w praktyce, oraz z przygotowaniem innowacyjnych materiałów dla potrzeb studiów MBA. Opisane projekty realizowane są w Instytucie Konstrukcji Budowlanych (Zakład Technologii i Organizacji Budownictwa) Politechniki Poznańskiej przy współpracy z uczelniami i ośrodkami zrzeszającymi inżynierów w kraju i za granicą. Artykuł ma na celu krótką prezentację dwóch projektów, które w chwili obecnej są realizowane i znajdują się na półmetku, ich spodziewane efekty oraz perspektywy dalszych działań możliwych do realizacji wspólnie z partnerami z innych uczelni oraz przemysłu. Jednocześnie mamy na uwadze możliwości współpracy zarówno z ośrodkami akademickimi, izbami zrzeszającymi inżynierów i menedżerów, jak i rozpowszechnienie tej idei wśród inżynierów, którzy odczuwają potrzebę poszerzenia swoich kompetencji.

Opis:: In planning, designing and constructing a project, cost is of prime importance. Construction Cost Management is the establishment of realistic capital costs of construction projects. It embodies detailed cost planning and cost control services to ensure construction projects are bid, documented and completed within a pre agreed cost framework and in the most economical manner consistent with program requirements and aesthetic considerations. Such a choice has the characteristics of a multi-criteria decision-making process. The Analytical Network Process (ANP) was used as the selection method. ANP method, taking into account the interactions between the elements involved in the decision making process, which does not take into account the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), eliminates the necessity of structuring the problem from a top-down hierarchy. ANP expresses problems as a network by defining the relationships and aspects between the elements. The aim of this study is to select a cost manager to work in a construction project. After the preliminary evaluations, the most suitable among the three candidates will be preferred. The findings showed that ANP method can be used successfully in the selection of construction cost manager.

Opis:: Zgodnie z Dziennikiem Ustaw 2003.207.2016, Ustawa z dnia 7 lipca 1994 r. Prawo budowlane [1], kierownik budowy ma wiele obowiązków. W zakresie jego obowiązków jest np. prowadzenie dokumentacji budowy, realizacja zaleceń wpisanych do dziennika budowy; zgłaszanie inwestorowi do sprawdzenia lub odbioru wykonanych robót ulegających zakryciu bądź zanikających; przygotowanie dokumentacji powykonawczej obiektu budowlanego. Kierownik budowy powinien również poczuwać się do odpowiedzialności za sytuacje, które nie są objęte prawem a powinny wynikać z posiadającej wiedzy z zakresu budownictwa. Od jego postępowania i sposobu prowadzenia budowy zależy, w jaki sposób przebiegać będzie proces inwestycyjny. Nadzorowanie budowy, prowadzenie w sposób rzetelny i czytelny książki budowy są nadrzędnymi obowiązkami kierownika budowy. Co przeoczono lub czego nie dopilnowano na tej budowie? W artykule została opisana sytuacja, która zaistniała na budowie budynku przemysłowego, hali produkcyjno-montażowej, gdzie podczas montażu stalowych słupów zaczęły pękać cokoły stóp fundamentowych.
The Construction Law of 7 July 1994 (Dz.U. 2003.207.2016) [1] assigns a large number of duties to the construction manager. They include, for example, maintaining the documentation of the construction project, implementing recommendations entered in the building log, notifying the investor of the need to check or accept works which are to be concealed, and preparing as-built documentation for the building. The construction manager should also take responsibility for situations which are not specified by law, but ought to be covered by his or her construction expertise. The manager’s actions and manner of executing the construction project will determine the course of the development process. Supervising the project, and keeping the building log in a reliable and legible manner, are prime responsibilities of the construction manager. It is necessary to consider what has been missed or not properly taken care of in a given construction project. This article describes a situation that arose during the construction of an industrial production and assembly facility, when cracks appeared in the footing pedestals during the erection of steel pillars.

Wskazano na konieczność prowadzenia działań prewencyjnych obejmujących nie tylko te firmy ale również innych uczestników procesu budowlanego, a także inne zainteresowane instytucje. np. tworzące system szkoleń pracowników budowlanych czy też stanowiące prawo.
This paper presents the results of investigations of small Polish construction plants in provinces with a high accident rate. The results, together with construction experts' opinions, concern essential OSH problems, e g., cooperation with the general contractor, OSH records, identification of hazards and risk assessment. organization of work, technical protective equipment against hazards, training workers as well as the use of machines and devices. This paper also considers the complexity of the operation of small construction plants within OSH and the influence of other spheres of life on these enterprises. It points out the need for preventive actions involving not only these enterprises but also other participants of the construction process as well as other constitutions, e.g., those creating system soft raining for construction workers establishing law.

Tytuł:: The challenges in identification of artists-managers : consequences for creativity

Opis:: Research on identity, its tensions and paradoxes have extensive literature and a large number of scientists exploring the subject. Our own experiences in the fields of art and management were the main arguments for the introduce of the concept of "artists-managers" and to undertake research in the area of artists-managers' identity to find the conclusions for creativity. This article aims to describe the challenges in the identification of artists-managers, who can be crucial in understanding the creativity factor. To reach our goal, we run empirical qualitative research based on in-depth interviews with key-informants from Europe, Africa and North America as well as auto-analysis of an artist-manager identity. We answer the research question "Who is the artist-manager?". We present our "creativity development model" on the base of artists-managers' characteristics and we describe what kind of challenges should be considered in the empirical research of artists-managers. These challenges may be used as guidelines for artists-managers: for those who discover an artist-manager in their personality, for defined artists-managers to help to better understand their features, and for artists-managers' followers to be more sensitive for their leaders' characteristics. Our model may help to understand and develop the creativity of society.

Tytuł:: The identity and self-perception of artists-managers

Opis:: Manager’s and artist’s professional identities seem to be opposite, but there are many indications that this understanding is not justified in reality. Despite the contradictions, these two identities can intersect. The paper aims to define the characteristics of the artists-managers’ identity. The object of the study was qualitative research (n = 22) conducted in the form of in-depth interviews with key informants from the international environment. The practical objective was to verify common and contradicted features of the artist’s and the manager’s identities among artists-managers to understand the possibilities of reducing the intra-psychic tensions and ways of fruitful paradoxical thinking among managers and negative consequences for personalities and organizations. The study reveals common characteristics between the artist’s and manager’s identities and describes artists-managers’ identity. Although artists-managers experience diversity between both identities, they do not see them as contrary; they use paradoxical thinking, being experts in using personal seemingly contradictory characteristics to achieve outstanding performance. Acting in paradoxical contexts and focusing on the positive aspects of seemingly contradictory personal qualities, they find nonstandard creative solutions. By trying to understand and implement their self-construction, there is the possibility to reduce the intra-psychic tensions and negative consequences of seemingly opposite identities or goals among individuals in organizations. There is a synergy between the manager’s and artist’s identities. Understanding the nature and attributes of artistic creativity, aesthetic theories and the phenomenon of artist-manager’s identity can be a valuable contribution to the practice of management and organizational life.

Opis:: The subject of the study is the issue of freedom of construction, shown against the background of obligations relating to the maintenance of buildings. The source of building freedom is the constitutional principle of property protection, which provides the owner with protection against unlawful infringement of his rights and excessive power of public administration bodies. However, the exercise of building freedom does not mean complete freedom in the use of the building structure, because it has its limits outlined in the implementation of the values indicated in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The study analyses the compliance of obligations concerning the maintenance of building structures with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.
