Treść zawarta w artykule dotyczy trzech kwestii: 1) reinterpretacji kategorii funkcja, struktury funkcji; 2) potrzeby wygenerowania nowych funkcji edukacji w wyniku dokonujących się przemian związanych z procesami globalizacji, ponowoczesności, rozwojem technologii informacyjnych, społeczeństwa informacyjnego; 3) sformułowania niektórych zadań dla nauk pedagogicznych dotyczących problematyki funkcji.
