Opis:: The article concerns some aspect of the impact which psychoanalysis (depth psychology) had on the research practice of historiography. The author asks in what ways “psychoanalytic thinking” modified the handling of a historical source. He argues that the basis for the modification was a unique “hermeneutics of suspicion,” embedded in depth psychology. At the core of this hermeneutics is the attitude of a psychoanalytic therapist-a search for “a deeper meaning” of a particular psychopathological symptom, a meaning cunningly concealed but at the same time indirectly (and perversely) enacted and communicated by this symptom. The article identifies the main reasons for hermeneutics of suspicion penetrating historians’ way of thinking: “ontological” (connected with the specific view of the historical process adopted by historiographers of psychoanalytic sympathies) and “methodological” (related to the discovery and affirmation of the methodological “kinship” between researching history and practicing psychoanalysis). The author further argues that, contrary to superficial readings, psychoanalytic hermeneutics of suspicion is not just a radicalized version of the critical attitude towards the source, which by default marks scientific historiography in its various forms, but that it goes beyond it in important ways. The article considers also various practical consequences of the presence of this kind of hermeneutics in handling historical sources.

Opis:: Żyjemy dziś w świecie określanym mianem VUCA, nad wyraz złożonym i niejednoznacznym, podyktowanym zmiennością i niepewnością. Podczas gdy dostęp do wiedzy stał się łatwiejszy niż kiedykolwiek, konsekwencje postprawdy zdają się być coraz poważniejsze - od coraz częstszych przejawów mowy nienawiści i wzajemnej nieufności po dysfunkcje w sferze demokracji, teorie spiskowe oraz nasilenie populizmu. Celem pracy jest poznanie uwarunkowań rozprzestrzeniania się fałszywych informacji w odniesieniu do posiadanych kompetencji krytycznego myślenia będących uzewnętrznieniem postawy twórczej. W oparciu o studia literaturowe oraz badania własne z wykorzystaniem Kwestionariusza Twórczego Zachowania KANH III poddano analizie próbę 109 użytkowników portalu Facebook. Uzyskane wyniki dowodzą istnienia istotnych statycznie różnic między poziomem zachowań twórczych respondentów, którym zdarza się wierzyć w fałszywe wiadomości i rozpowszechniać je jako prawdziwe, a osób o względnie wysokiej odporności na dezinformację. Całości rozważań przyświeca myśl, iż w dobie przeładowania informacyjnego rozwój kompetencji krytycznego myślenia pozostaje ważną kwestią, która nie może pozostawać bez odpowiedzi ze strony edukacji.
Today we live in a VUCA world, overly complex and ambiguous, dictated by volatility and uncertainty. While access to knowledge has become easier than ever before, the consequences of post-truth seem to be increasing - from more frequent expressions of hate speech and distrust to dysfunctions in the democratic sphere, the propagation of conspiracy theories and the rise of populism. The aim of this paper is to explore the conditions for the spread of fake news in relation to critical thinking competencies (which are a reflection of a creative attitude). Based on literature studies and own research using the KANH III Creative Behaviour Questionnaire, a sample of 109 Facebook users was analysed. The results prove the statistical significance of differences between the level of creative behaviour of respondents who happen to believe in fake news and share it as true, and people with relatively high resistance to disinformation. The analysis is guided by the idea that in the age of information overload, the development of critical thinking skills remains an important issue that cannot go unaddressed by education.

Opis:: The appreciation of the importance of the avant-garde, and of its re-thinking of the socio- -cultural reality, ensues from its fundamental role for 20th and 21st century art practice and theory. However, in the contemporary global world, asking about the persistence of the avant-garde, we should take into consideration the different social/historical/cultural conditions of the specific geographical regions. In the following article, I focus on postcolonial art in the Republic of South Africa, relating to postmodernism, demonstrating a critical, emancipatory approach and an artistic responsibility for the partial view of the world which the artist co-construes. I try to answer the question of whether we can talk about avant-garde ideas and approaches in South African art, though they have a different background and are not rooted in the tradition of western avant-garde.
Doniosłość rozważań poświęconych awangardzie i jej przemyślenie w zmieniających się warunkach społeczno-kulturowych wynikają z fundamentalnej roli tego ruchu dla praktyki artystycznej i teorii sztuki w wieku XX i XXI. Jednakże we współczesnym globalnym świecie, pytając o trwałość awangardy powinniśmy zastanowić się nad różnymi społeczno-historyczno-kulturowymi uwarunkowaniami w poszczególnych miejscach geograficznych, które bierzemy pod uwagę. W artykule koncentruję się na sztuce Republiki Południowej Afryki, która jest postkolonialna, powiązana z postmodernizmem, która ukazuje podejście krytyczne i emancypacyjne oraz odpowiedzialność artysty/ artystki za częściowy obraz świata, który on/ona współ-konstruuje. Zatem, staram się odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy możemy mówić o ideách i postawie awangardowej w sztuce Południowej Afryki, choć wyrastają one na innym podłożu i nie mają korzeni w formacji zachodniej awangardy.
