The paper is the Editor's Introduction to Cyprian Norwid's Poems included in Volumes III and IV of the critical edition of the poet's Collected Writings prepared by Norwidologists from different academic centers and edited by the Learned Society of the Catholic University of Lublin: Volume III has been edited by S. The question of dialect mingling in Karaim has been raised by several authors. We know that there was continual contact between members of most Karaim communities during at least the last three centuries, but we know little about the intensity of the discussed phenomenon. Manuscripts reflecting the spoken language serve as our only source of knowledge. One must, however, be careful when editing them since not every manuscript that contains linguistic material referring to more than one Karaim dialect is to be treated as proof of dialect mingling. The present paper presents a critical edition of a Karaim manuscript written in 1868 which contains both north- and south-western elements, and aims to answer the question whether this document can be treated as a relevant example of dialect mingling.

This paper is a critical edition of Jehoszafat Kapłanowski’s (a Trakai-born Karaimspeaking Odessan) two letters written in Hebrew script that were sent in 1868 to Lutsk. The critical apparatus that accompanies the transcription and translation includes commentaries on each linguistic peculiarity or irregularity. The study is augmented by a glossary and facsimile, as well as brief historical comments on some of the persons mentioned in the text.

Opis:
The article attempts to present in a synthetic way (also in the axiological aspect) the editorial work of Juliusz Wiktor Gomulicki. The editions of Norwid’s ouvre prepared by Gomulicki, especially the first complete edition of the poet’s writings, were published mainly in the years 1944–1989. Undoubtedly, Gomulicki’s greatest editorial success was the full coverage of Norwid’s writings. However, there were also some flaws, such as the excessive “biographisation” of his editorial commentaries, erroneous readings and peculiar, in the literary sense, interpretations. Furthermore, Gomulicki marginalised Norwid’s activity in the area of plastic arts (cf. his lithograph Solo). Also his genological classifications and categorisations, which had a great influence on the layout and form of the corpus of Norwid’s writings, raise some serious doubts. Finally, it is also impossible to recognize the critical and scientific character of this publishing endeavour, which Gomulicki willingly and constantly stressed.

This paper discusses the history of the first critical edition of the Hildebrandslied. The sole extant version of the famous Old High German epic, preserved only in fragments, was copied on the first and the last page of a codex dated to the 8th/9th c. and written in Fulda. The first scholarly edition of the Hildebrandslied was published in 1812 by the Grimm brothers who were also the first to recognize the poem’s alliterative verse form.

Naukowe i krytyczne wydania tekstów jako przedmiot prawa autorskiego i praw pokrewnych

Celem monografii jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy i w jakim zakresie naukowe i krytyczne wydania tekstów mogą podlegać ochronie w ramach prawa autorskiego i praw pokrewnych. Do lipca 2000 r. prawo autorskie było jedyną potencjalną podstawą ochrony wydań naukowych i wydań krytycznych w Polsce. Kiedy 22 lipca 2000 r. weszły w życie przepisy art. 99[1] i nast. ustawy o prawie autorskim i prawach pokrewnych, do polskiego porządku prawnego zostały wprowadzone dwa nowe prawa pokrewne: prawo do pierwszego wydania i prawo do wydania naukowego lub krytycznego. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań udało się potwierdzić hipotezę, w myśl której wydania naukowe i wydania krytyczne nie są wytworami o charakterze jednolitym nie tylko z punktu widzenia tekstologii i edytorstwa naukowego, lecz także z perspektywy prawa własności intelektualnej. Różne elementy tego samego wydania mogą podlegać ochronie na podstawie różnych praw wyłącznych.
The book aims to verify if and to what extend critical and scientific editions of texts can be protected by copyright and related rights. In Poland until July 2000 critical and scientific editions could only be protected by copyright. When art. 99[1] and subs. of the Act on copyright and related rights entered into force on 22nd July 2000, two new related rights were introduced to the Polish legal system: the right to first editions and the right to scientific or critical editions. The research confirmed the hypothesis that scientific editions and critical editions are not homogenic not only from the point of view of textual criticism and text linguistics, but also from the perspective of intellectual property law. Various elements of the same edition can be protected under different intellectual property rights.
