Opis:: Undoubtedly, the most important criterion for assessing any project success is to achieve the planned main objective within scheduled time, under the assumed costs and corresponding to established project quality parameters. The article presents critical path method, that aims to determine project schedule which ensure an implementation shortest time. Ultimately, however the optimal project duration is designated after solving human resource deficiencies or conflicts occurring in the generated schedule.

Opis:: In order to complete a project in time, companies must determine both the duration of the entire project as well as each of its individual tasks. Very often less experienced companies do not collect data affecting time limit for project completion. Then time required to perform specified activities are determined based on estimation and companies own experience. To minimize the risk error arising as a result of using incomplete historical data and simultaneously increasing the effectiveness of estimating the duration of the project, most project managers with pleasure use the PERT method (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) to estimate the duration of individual tasks of the project on the basis of three intermediate estimation values: optimistic, realistic and pessimistic. This paper will set the duration of an IT (Information Technology) project implementation tasks, determine both critical tasks as well as critical path of the project. Based on estimates deadlines events values, the probability of occurrence time limits shall be also appointed.

Opis:: O sprawności i skuteczności każdej organizacji decyduje umiejętność zarządzania szeregiem rutynowych oraz nowych procesów i zadań. Stąd grupa nowych lub zmodyfikowanych przedsięwzięć wymaga przede wszystkim zastosowania metod ułatwiających zarządzanie nimi i umożliwiających zakończenie ich realizacji w wyznaczonym terminie. W zarządzaniu niezbyt dużymi i niezbyt czasochłonnymi projektami, w szczególności na etapach planowania struktury, planowania przebiegu oraz planowania zasobów, często są wykorzystywane klasyczne wykresy Gantta umożliwiające zaplanowanie, a następnie kontrolowanie przebiegu realizacji danego przedsięwzięcia. Podobne wyniki dostarcza metoda ścieżki krytycznej (Critical Path Method – CPM), która jest mniej popularna w praktyce gospodarczej polskich podmiotów. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wspólnych elementów wykresów Gantta i CPM oraz ocena ich ograniczeń i korzyści w zarządzaniu przedsięwzięciami. Analiza przykładowego zestawu czynności składających się na dane przedsięwzięcie pokazała, że wykres Gantta i metoda ścieżki krytycznej (CPM) wzajemnie się uzupełniają i jest uzasadnione stosowanie w praktyce tych obu metod jednocześnie. Dodatkowo zauważa się, że w wyznaczaniu ścieżki krytycznej przedsięwzięcia, w którym kilka czynności jest realizowanych w tym samym czasie, przewagę zyskuje CPM.
The efficiency of each organisation is determined by its ability to manage a range of both traditional and new processes and tasks. Therefore, especially new or modified projects require the use of methods that aid management and allow for a timely completion. In the management of not very large and not very time-consuming projects, particularly in the stages involving the planning of the structure, course planning and resource planning, classic Gantt charts are often used since they facilitate the planning and monitoring of project implementation. Similar results can be received by means of the Critical Path Method (CPM), which is less common in the practice of Polish business entities. The aim of this paper is to present the elements that the two methods have in common, and to assess their limitations and benefits for project management. Analysis of a sample set of actions comprising the project shows that the Gantt chart and the CPM are complementary and it is recommended that these two methods are used simultaneously. In addition, it is noted that when several activities are carried out at the same time, the CPM is capable of defining the critical path in a more precise way than Gantt Charts.

Opis:: Sprawny przepływ materiałów w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym pozwala między innymi na redukcję kosztów związanych z transportem wewnętrznym. Aby osiągnąć taki stan, należy poddać analizie rozmieszczenie stanowisk produkcyjnych, przy czym kryterium optymalizacyjnym powinien być swobodny i możliwie krótki przepływ materiałów. W artykule analizie poddano zagadnienie minimalizacji czasu transportu materiałów między magazynem a halą produkcyjną oraz pomiędzy poszczególnymi stanowiskami roboczymi. Jako metody wspomagające wyznaczenie optymalnego rozmieszczenia stanowisk przyjęte zostały: metoda ścieżki krytycznej, metoda trójkątów Schmigalli oraz wykres Sankey’a. Poprzedzone analizą teoretyczną badania potwierdzają duże znaczenie dokładnej analizy już na etapie projektowania rozmieszczenia stanowisk w świetle powstawania kosztów produkcyjnych. Artykuł został napisany na podstawie badań zrealizowanych we współpracy z przedsiębiorstwem produkcyjno-handlowo-usługowym PAKCER w Tułowicach (województwo opolskie).
The efficient materials flow allows to reduce costs connected to internal transport in manufacturing company. This should be preceded by an analysis of machine system design, based on effortless and quick materials flow. The author focuses on the minimization of the materials transport time, not only between machines but also between warehouse and the production hall. She uses three methods, which are critical path method, Schmigalla method of triangles and Sankey diagram. Researches, preceded by and theoretical analysis, show that proper analysis of layout is essential task in minimizing costs that do not generate the added value. The article is based on researches and cooperation with the manufacturing company, PAKCER, which is placed in Tułowice in the opolskie province.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia możliwości wykorzystania oprogramowania WinQSB wspomagającego analizę sieciową metodą „ścieżki krytycznej” w aspekcie opracowywania planu ochrony infrastruktury krytycznej w Polsce. W materiale uwzględniono najważniejsze definicje oraz podstawy prawne dotyczące infrastruktury krytycznej, a także odniesiono się do ogólnej charakterystyki ochrony obiektów infrastruktury krytycznej. W dalszej kolejności opisano optymalizację decyzji w zarządzaniu bezpieczeństwem poprzez wykorzystanie analizy sieciowej, co pozwoliło na zaprezentowanie wykorzystania oprogramowania wspomagającego analizę sieciową do opracowania Planu Ochrony Infrastruktury Krytycznej w Przedsiębiorstwie Wodociągów i Kanalizacji.
The article presents the possibilities of using the WinQSB software supporting network analysis using the “critical path” method in the aspect of developing a critical infrastructure protection plan in Poland. The material presents the most important definitions and legal grounds for critical infrastructure, as well as the general characteristics for the protection of critical infrastructure facilities. Additionally, the optimization of decisions in safety management through the use of network analysis was discussed, in order to present a proprietary approach to the examination of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Plan in the Water and Sewerage Company. Particular emphasis was placed on the presentation of the results of tests performed with the use of the WinQSB software in the case study.

Opis:: Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zidentyfikowanie problemów związanych z zarządzaniem projektami informatycznymi oraz stworzenie aplikacji bazodanowej do ich rozwiązywania. Dokonano charakterystyki popularnych technik zarządzania projektami oraz opisano problem przydziału i jego rozwiązanie za pomocą metody węgierskiej. Przedstawiono również zagadnienia harmonogramowania, związany z nimi algorytm ścieżki krytycznej oraz narzędzie do ich wizualizacji – diagram Gantta. Stworzony system umożliwia zarządzanie projektami (dodawanie nowych projektów, zadań i przydzielanie pracowników) oraz wizualizacje przebiegu projektu za pomocą grafu z wyznaczoną ścieżką krytyczną co pozwala na lepszą komunikacje pośród członków zespołu.
The purpose of this study is to identify issues related to IT project management and design of an application which will help resolve them. Project management and project’s success were defined and popular project management techniques were characterized. Assigned problem and its solution using the Hungarian method were presented. The developed application improves small and medium projects’ management and facilitates better communication between members by visualizing the project as a graph with critical path shown.

Opis:: The paper deals with an analysis of selected scheduling methods in a view of their use in planning the work of transportation means. The implementation plans for specific transport processes, for which duration of the project procedure is aimed at creating the optimal is the criterion. The authors will attempt to develop a coherent procedure for the combined transport, i.e. transport processes carried out by means of transportation means in more than one mode of transport. It may be also applied for the use of a number transportation means from the same transport branch, when there is a necessity to perform the handling works. Optimization of the execution time for the transport project, that is a modified version of classical transportation problem and scheduling method were applied for creating the method. The procedure can also be used to capture solutions resulting in an excessive use of transportation means, e.g. in case, when too many sets of transport are used. The method is a very useful tool for creating the scheduling of transportation means work. it lets on to fitting an appropriate response to the existing situation resulting from potential delays. It provides valuable information in terms of dispatchers, other managers handling with loads, as well as those involved in the determination of parameters related to contracts for transport projects

Opis:: The introduction of a baseline term to the dependency network most often results in a change, break and/or generation of a new sequence of critical path, depending on the type of such a baseline term and the exact date selected. Each of those situations has an impact on the location or need to include new time buffers in the modified Goldratt’s method. The purpose of this article was to identify possible effects brought by declaration of each type of baseline term and to point out actions to be taken in each case. It must be noted that guidelines provided should in each individual case be adapted to the specific character of schedule changes caused by implementation of the relevant baseline term. The example presented herein exemplifi es one of such solutions to be implemented as a result of break of the critical path and need to introduce new time buffers.
