Opis:
The investment banking industry has been growing fast and continuously attracting many investors to start their business in Poland. One of the European countries that has been outsourcing their services in Poland in the financial industry is France. This thesis is dedicated to the core understanding of cross-border relationships between these two countries, we will focus mainly on the outsourcing theories, best practices and related risk mitigation strategies. We will use as an example the case study of one of the largest investment banks in the world to dive into the relationship management, profit generation and future plans of France as a beneficiary country and Poland as a provider.

Opis:
Background: The radial artery became preferable access for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). The latest European Society of Cardiology guidelines strongly recommended transradial access in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Though, in a significant portion of the coronary artery, invasive procedure crossover to femoral is necessary. Aims: This study aimed to determine the ratio, risk factors, and periprocedural outcomes of crossover from radial to femoral access during PCI in a contemporary STEMI registry. Methods: Based on data from the Polish registry ORPKI, we analyzed 90245 patients with a diagnosis of STEMI that were intended to be treated invasively via transradial access between 2014 and 2019. Results: In 1484 (1.6 %) individuals, a switch to femoral access was necessary during the procedure. The most important independent predictors of vascular crossover were female sex, previous coronary artery bypass graft, class 3 and 4 of the Killip scale, left main disease, as well as any complications during coronary angiography. In that cohort, the risk of bleeding at the puncture site was over 20-fold higher. Major disparities in periprocedural outcomes (death during procedure, cardiac arrest during PCI, Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) after PCI, and no-reflow) between these groups resulted from disparities in initial characteristics, and they were not associated with crossover itself. Conclusions: Even though the risk of crossover to femoral is currently low, it appears to be indispensable to sustain operators’ experience both in radial and femoral approaches to achieve the best outcomes in these patients.

Opis:
The recently demonstrated ‘modal crossover network’ method for flat panel loudspeaker tuning employs an array of force drivers to selectively excite one or more panel bending modes from a spectrum of panel bending modes. A regularly spaced grid of drivers is a logical configuration for a two-dimensional driver array, and although this can be effective for exciting multiple panel modes it will not necessarily exhibit strong coupling to all of the modes within a given band of frequencies. In this paper a method is described to find optimal force driver array layouts to enable control of all the panel bending modes within a given frequency band. The optimization is carried out both for dynamic force actuators, treated as point forces, and for piezoelectric patch actuators. The optimized array layouts achieve similar maximum mode coupling efficiencies in comparison with regularly spaced driver arrays; however, in the optimized arrays all of the modes within a specified frequency band may be independently addressed, which is important for achieving a desired loudspeaker frequency response. Experiments on flat panel loudspeakers with optimized force actuator array layouts show that each of the panel modes within a selected frequency band may be addressed independently and that the inter-modal crosstalk is typically −30 dB or less with non-ideal drivers.

Opis:
Negotiation is a joint decision making process involving making concessions by the parties. Concession-making may involve giving up negotiator’s utility and is an essential activity in the negotiation process. In the past it has been suggested by some authors that negotiators utility functions over the issues may not be linear. In this case, a phenomenon called “concession crossover” takes place, in which a negotiator may switch issues on which they choose to make concessions at some point in negotiations. This work sets to investigate the validity of such claims. To this end we introduce several concession-making models and use them for testing hypotheses. We have used a dataset from online negotiation experiments featuring a contract-signing case. The results support the claim that concession crossover does indeed occur.

Opis:
The self-assembly of iron(II) ions with rare octacyanidorhenate(V) metalloligands in a methanolic solution results in the formation of a nanometric pentadecanuclear $\{ Fe^{II}_{9}[Re^{V}(CN)_{8}]_{6}(MeOH)_{24}\}⋅10 MeOH$ (1) molecule with a six-capped body-centered cubic topology. The cluster demonstrates a thermally-induced spin-crossover phase transition at $T_{1/2}=195 K$ which occurs selectively for a single $Fe^{II}$ ion embedded in the center of a cluster core.

Opis:
Objectives: Ambient ozone (O₃) exposure is associated with a variety of health conditions. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of increased daily concentrations of ozone on emergency department (ED) visits due to lower respiratory diseases (LRD), such as acute or chronic bronchitis, in Edmonton, Canada. Materials and Methods: Data concerning 10 years (1992-2002) were obtained from 5 Edmonton hospital Emergency Departments. Odds ratios (ORs) for ED visits associated with the increased ozone levels were calculated employing a case-crossover technique with a time-stratified strategy to define controls. In the constructed conditional logistic regression models, adjustments were made for daily number of influenza ED visits and weather variables using natural splines. ORs and their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were reported in relation to an increase in the interquartile range (IQR = 17.9 ppb) of the ground-level ozone. Results: Overall, 48 252 ED visits due to LRD were identified, of which 53% were made by males. The presentations peaked in December (12%) and February (11.7%) and were the lowest in August (5.6%). Positive and statistically significant results were obtained for acute bronchitis: for same day (OR = 1.09, 95% CI: 1.05-1.13, lag 0) and for lag 2, lag 3-7 and 9 days; for chronic bronchitis: for lag 6, 7, and lag 9 days (OR = 1.11, 95% CI: 1.05-1.18, lag 9). For all ED visits for LRD, lag 0, lag 1, and lag 3-9 days showed positive and statistically significant associations (OR = 1.06, 95% CI: 1.03-1.09, lag 0). Conclusions: These findings support the hypothesis concerning positive associations between ozone and the ED visits due to LRD.
