Opis:: Characteristics of the selected aspects of managerial decision-making in Police based on own research Regarding specific tasks in Police, an important matter is to ensure public safety. Thanks to more efficient managerial decisions, one can enhance the functioning of Police and increase citizens’ sense of security. There were analyzed selected problems which turn up in the managerial decision-making process. The presented research results in paper show that policemen are aware of liability for their behavior and responsibility which they can bear for their own decisions.

Opis:: The main purpose of the article is to highlight the differences between the concepts of referral and service of an administrative decision to a non-party of an administrative proceeding. In this context, it is particularly important to analyse the case law of the administrative courts, mainly the recent ones, and the views of the doctrine. Opis:: We accept injunctive message through an unaware decision (Goulding, Goulding, 1997, p. 13). It’s not always so obvious. We have two ways of accepting injunctive message - a despair and defiant decision. When we make a despair decision - we accept the injunctive message and live limiting our functionality in some aspect. However, when we make a defiant decision, we act in accordance with the principle of "I will show you!" and in an excessive way we prove to ourselves and others, that nothing similar concern us. Although this form of accepting injunctive message is slightly healthier, it is still destructive and a person who is experiencing it is influenced by it and works under the urge to prove something. This is a defiant decision, and excess in some aspect, is the most important clue that can help identify it. (McNeel, 2010, 159-169).
Zakaz przyjmujemy poprzez nieświadomą decyzję (Goulding, Goulding, 1997, s. 13). Nie zawsze jednak jest ona tak oczywista. Mamy bowiem dwie drogi przyjęcia zakazu – decyzję desperacką oraz przekorną. Gdy podejmujemy decyzję desperacką - przyjmujemy zakaz i żyjemy ograniczając funkcjonowanie w jakimś aspekcie. Gdy jednak podejmujemy przekorną decyzję, będziemy działać w myśl zasady „jeszcze ci pokażę!” i w nadmiarowy sposób udowadniać sobie i innym, że nic podobnego nas nie dotyczy. Choć ta forma przyjęcia zakazu jest nieznacznie zdrowsza, to nadal jest ona destrukcyjna, a osoba, która jej doświadcza, znajduje się pod wpływem zakazu – działa pod przymusem udowodnienia czegoś. To właśnie jest przekorna decyzja, a nadmiar w jakimś aspekcie funkcjonowania jest ważną wskazówką, która pozwala ją zidentyfikować (McNeel, 2010, 159-169).

Opis:: The paper discusses the impact of the decision-making profiles on the consistency of rankings obtained by three multiple criteria methods, i.e. DR, AHP and TOPSIS. The online decision making experiment was organized, based on an electronic questionnaire which is a hybrid of the internet survey system and the decision support system. The participants of the experiment were 418 students of Polish universities. To describe the decision-making profile, the REI test was used which allows to distinguish two decision-making styles: rational and intuitive. The Kendall rank correlation coefficient was used to test the consistency of the rankings obtained by the considered methods. Using different grouping methods, the relationship between the decision profile and the ability to express one’s preferences by means of these methods, that differ in cognitive requirements, was examined. The results of the research may be helpful for supporting the decision-maker in decision processes by choosing the method that fits their profile best.

Opis:: Complex risky decision problems involve sequences of decisions and random events. The choice at a given stage depends on the decisions taken in the previous stages, as well as on the realizations of the random events that occurred earlier. In the analysis of such situations, decision trees are used, and the criterion for choosing the optimal decision is to maximize the expected monetary value. Unfortunately, this approach often does not reflect the actual choices of individual decision makers. In descriptive decision theory, the criterion of maximizing the expected monetary value is replaced by a subjective valuation that takes into account the relative outcomes and their probabilities. This paper presents a proposal to use the principles of cumulative prospect theory to analyse complex decision problems. The concept of a certainty equivalent is used to make it possible to compare risky and non-risky alternatives.

Opis:: Very often we complain about the decisions that were previously made. Yet the fact is that the decisions made were based on the knowledge we had before. By now we have gained more knowledge. Therefore the common problem of making decisions is that decisions are not made reliable enough because parameters in risk assessment and supply chain management are underestimated or not robust enough. In this paper we propose a framework that will try to predict future situations collectively and increase the reliability of decision making. Project management is the art of making right decision. Project managers are faced by huge array of choices. Decision analysis is used in strategic planning, operational management, and other areas of business. Decision analysis helps companies to determine optimal exploration and production strategies with uncertainties in cost, prices, and exploration prospects. This paper describes project management steps and the way they can be supported by Intelligent Decision Support system (IDSS). The main parameters assessed are total cost of the projects, time of the project total fulfilment, number of subcontractors, location factors, and etc. IDSS will enable to collect data, propose possible alternative decisions, and provide risk assessment.

Opis:: Objectives: This article presents the eternal relevance of the decision-making process and its inseparable connection with the personality of the decision-maker. Broadly speaking, the subject of consideration is the decision-making process. The main goal of the authors is to review the decision-making process, some styles of decision making and offer information about some types of software for decision making and strategic planning. Methods: The scientific methodology used is a combination of a theoretical review of the issue, a critical scientific review and the presentation of new scientific advances in the world of practice in terms of decision-making through technical means and methods. Results: The conditions that the decisions must meet in order to be useful and accepted, some styles of decision-making processes and also the use of decision-making software are analysed in the article. Conclusions: The authors are aware that this is a repeatedly researched topic and it is in the last part that a novelty of an applied-practical nature is definitely found. Several software for decision making and strategic planning software, which is a category of software critical for organizational leaders who want to ensure more strategic decision-making and implement simpler and more effective reporting are presented in the last part of the article. This software provides a place to manage all strategic elements, in order to achieve high-level organizational structure and long-term goals.
