Opis:: Characteristics of the selected aspects of managerial decision-making in Police based on own research Regarding specific tasks in Police, an important matter is to ensure public safety. Thanks to more efficient managerial decisions, one can enhance the functioning of Police and increase citizens’ sense of security. There were analyzed selected problems which turn up in the managerial decision-making process. The presented research results in paper show that policemen are aware of liability for their behavior and responsibility which they can bear for their own decisions.

Opis:: This article attempts to analyze the importance of the decision-making process in the context of challenges for leadership under conditions of future operations. It describes possible tasks that the company commander must face in future operations. This paper aims to identify specific environmental factors affecting missions conducted by the company commander on the tactical level. Limitations that might be subject to the company commander during different tasks have been characterized. In addition, the article presents consequences of the decision-making process (the conduct leadership) in the context of future operations.

Opis:: Scientific field of decision making process is extremely popular. Policymakers are increasingly aware of the potential mistakes associated with the process of decision making. Empirical studies show that despite huge knowledge of decision making process its quality has not improved significantly, both for the individual and the organization as a whole. Mistakes made by managers arise mainly from two sources: the treatment of decision as a domain of top managers and the lack of systematic monitoring and analysis of decision making process in the organization. The main objective of this paper is to identify and critically analyze methods (tools, guidelines and approaches) of improving decision making process.

Tytuł:: Decision-making regarding social situations in people with intellectual disability at different stages of the decision-making process

Opis:: Decision-making capability is essential in fulfilling the need for autonomy of people with intellectual disability. In this study we aimed to examine decision-making capability regarding important social situations in people with intellectual disability at different stages of decision-making process. We studied 80 vocational school students with mild intellectual disability and 80 students of a similar age from mass vocation schools. We assessed decision-making with Important Life Decisions Task (ILDT). Students with intellectual disability obtained significantly lower scores than controls for each of the stories in ILDT as in each stage and overall final score in the decision-making process. The magnitude of difference in scores between groups varied in different stages of decision-making process. The most notable difficulties in decision-making regarding important social situations in people with intellectual disability are related to the evaluation of alternatives stage. Pattern of differences obtained in our study may be related to the content of decision-making problems.

Opis:: The analysis of the research problem started from listing the issues of decision theory and the decision-making process that support the process of building decision trees. The area in question covers a procedure for building and proceeding when creating decision trees. The solution to the research problem consists in defining decision variables and arranging them into logical statements by writing down all possible variants and only accounting for the true ones. True solutions derived from coding were detailed and the number of occurring decision trees was calculated in the case under consideration. The decision problem was presented in the form of decision trees, which made it possible to select the optimum decision tree. The obtained results were considered and the optimum decision tree was chosen. At the same time, the record of decision variables was analyzed, providing the answer as to which courier company will best meet expectations of entrepreneurs and ensure the most satisfying cooperation. That company turned out to be K-EX. The article aimed to select a courier company from the perspective of online retailers, with the selection having been made using the method of decision trees based on four basic criteria defined within the research.

Opis:: Legal Aspects of Lobbying in Decision-Making Processes of Public AdministrationThe process of decision-making in public administration is multifaceted, with the deci-sion being the result of complex proceedings aimed to settle a case or reach a specific goal. Public administration works in this area mainly in the legał environment, but not only. The decision-making process is determined by social conditions and includes agency of various persons whose conduct and actions lead to certain conseąuences. Due to the different tasks of public administration, its activity is not merely a result of the will of a given body but it can also be initiated by applicants interested in the attainment of defined objectives, including through lobbying. The essence of lobbying is to influence, within the confines of law, decisions of public authorities in a particular direction. In Poland, lobbying is nów an institution regulated by the Act of 7 July 2005 on Lobbying Activity in the Lawmaking Process (OJ No 169, item 1414).Lobbying is also very common in the European Union, where the phenomenon is not only acceptable, but even desirable.Lobbying is seen as bringing benefits for both parties consulted. Therefore, at the level of the European Union, certain standards have been determined defining the scope of relations between the Community Institutions

Opis:: Consumer's behaviour in the market is a widely studied and analysed problem. Complexity of social, economic and psychological determinants that influence consumer's decision process is a reason for multilevel and multi-factor approaches to analyse this problem. Therefore the aim of this paper is to describe application of parametric regression model for the effectiveness of advertising. The study described is based on a survey covering 550 consumers of dairy product, all of age over 15 and living in one of the nine biggest Polish agglomerations. Built models were examined and verified statistically. Obtained results clearly show that the approach chosen to describe AIDA model is an appropriate method for analysing impact of advertisement on consumer's decision making process.

Opis:: Decyzje polityczne są ważnym czynnikiem kształtującym rzeczywistość społeczną. Ponieważ ich konsekwencje dotyczą nie tylko decydentów, ale przede wszystkim jednostek i grup społecznych, będących ich adresatem, badanie ich jest ważne nie tylko w kontekście celów teoretycznych, ale i praktycznych. Jedną z metod badania decydowania politycznego jest analiza decyzyjna. W artykule, który ma charakter przeglądowy, na podstawie literatury przedmiotu scharakteryzowano wybrane modele procesu decyzyjnego w ujęciu systemowym – ważnego etapu podejmowania decyzji. Skoncentrowano się na modelach racjonalnym, inkrementalnym, biurokratycznym (organizacyjnym) oraz aktywności w ramach wspólnoty programowej.
Political decisions are an important factor shaping social reality. Since their consequences concern not only decision-makers, but, above all, individuals and social groups who are their addressees, studying them is important not only in the context of theoretical but also practical goals. One of the methods of researching political decision-making is decision analysis. In the article, which is a review, based on the literature on the subject, selected models of the decision-making process are characterized in terms of a system - an important stage of decision-making. The focus was on the following models: rational, incremental, bureaucratic (organizational) and activity within the program community.
