Opis:
An on-line fault diagnosis system, designed to be robust to the normal transient behaviour of the process, is described. The overall system consists of an expert system cascade with a hierarchical structure of fuzzy neural networks, corresponding to a multi-stage fault detection and isolation system. The fault detection is performed through the expert system by means of fault detection heuristic rules, generated from deep and shallow knowledge of the process under consideration. If a fault is detected, the hierarchical structure of fuzzy neural networks starts and it performs the fault isolation task. The structure of this diagnosis system was designed to allow for the diagnosis of single and multiple simultaneous abrupt and incipient faults from only single abrupt fault symptoms. Also, it combines the advantages of both fuzzy reasoning and neural networks learning capacity. A continuous binary distillation column has been used as a test bed of the current approach. Single, double and triple simultaneous abrupt faults, as well as incipient faults, have been considered. The preliminary results obtained show a good accuracy, even in the case of multiple faults.

Opis:
Embedded throughout this paper you will find the diversity of opinions that correlates to the diversity of theories, frameworks, case studies and stories that are related to the field of Knowledge Management (KM). We begin by introducing the Sampler Research Call approach and the 13 KM academics and practitioners working in different parts of the world who answered the call. We then provide baseline definitions and briefly explore the process of knowledge creation within the human mind/brain. After a brief (and vastly incomplete) introduction to KM literature at the turn of the Century, the frameworks of Sampler Call participants are introduced, and two early frameworks that achieved almost cult status—the Data-Information- Knowledge-Wisdom (DIKW) continuum and the SECI (socialization, externalization, combination and internalization) model—are explored through the eyes of Sampler Call participants. We then introduce the results of the KMTL (Knowledge Management Thought Leader) Study, which suggest theories consistent with the richness and diversity of thought interwoven throughout this paper. The field of KM is introduced as a complex adaptive system with many possibilities and opportunities. Finally, we share summary thoughts, urging us as KM academics and practitioners to find the balance between the conscious awareness/understanding of higher-order patterns and the actions we take; between the need for overarching theory and the experiential freedom necessary to address context-rich situations.

Posthuman Convergences. Mapping the Anthropocentric Exodus in Contemporary Art Practices
Posthumanistyczne konwergencje. Mapowanie antropocentrycznego exodusu we współczesnych praktykach artystycznych
Autorzy:
Dziadek, Martyna
Opis:
The main objective of the dissertation will be an attempt of mapping the posthuman turn with a strong emphasis on – still has not so investigated in Poland – critical plant studies. Plant kingdom used to be marginalized in humanities which regard them mostly in the lens of thematology or in its magic perspective. Drawing on environmental history and posthuman turn as well as new materialism and sociology of knowledge, I will examine the trajectory of plant agency, demonstrating its material impact highly visible in contemporary culture. Firstly, I am starting with the “biological consequences of 1492” (A. W. Crosby) to present how to plant kingdom was linked together with human migration and examine the botany of colonization with its highly visible consequences: invasive species full of aporias. On the one hand, migration of plant was fully volitional when botanists were sending them to their native countries, on the other: their myopia indisposed them to see the consequences of mixing the ecosystem. In this case, there is also worth demonstrating, how botanical gardens were used to show the power of imperium, as well as taxonomy. Finally, I will map the possible perspectives in an epoch of Anthropocene according to the statement: “the environmental crisis brings a crisis of imagination” (L. Buell). In that sense, rethinking humanities with indigenous knowledge(s) is strongly needed as well as "deep adaptation" (J. Bendell) in order to understand that "humans interact not only with each other, but in all times, places and context of ecosystems, and are affected by them" (R. C. Foltz).

Opis:
The main aim of this article is an attempt at mapping the preventive strategy in the epoch of climate and ecology crisis through the lens of (post)humanities. Drawing upon posthuman perspectives, as well as methodologies and research tools, I will try to grasp the complexity of reality through relational ontologies, which linked Anthropos with the plant kingdom. As Małgorzata Praczyk pointed out, posthumanism is still not so investigated in humanities (especially in the historic field), and even when it finally appears, ended up at counterproductive reductionism. Trying to avoid this impasse, the author of this text is using the method of morphing history which allows changing the perspectives from anthropocentric one to the plants, thus polyphonic assemblages (A. Tsing) enables to re(present) the other and multispecies agency. Finally, I will map the possible perspectives in an epoch of Anthropocene according to the statement: “the environmental crisis brings a crisis of imagination”(L. Buell). In that sense, rethinking humanities with indigenous knowledge(s) is strongly needed as well as “deep adaptation” (J. Bendell) in order to understand that “humans interact not only with each other, but in all times, places and context of ecosystems, and are affected by them” (R.C. Foltz).
