Opis:
The problem of ambiguity in the definition of lattice rotation, used in plastic deformation models, is examined in this work. The geometry of tensile and compression deformation is considered. Two approaches to lattice rotation are considered: the classical definition (called also 'mathematical analysis) and the definition based on orientation preservation of specified directions/planes in the sample coordinates system. Similar study was already done by the present authors for the geometry of rolling deformation. It was shown that application of two rotation definitions enables to explain the appearance of two types of f. c. c. rolling textures: brass type and copper type textures. In the case of axisymmetric deformation the application of both definitions of lattice rotation leads to similar textures, but with different spread of their principal components.

Opis:
Casting industry has been enriched with the processes of mechanization and automation in production. They offer both better working standards, faster and more accurate production, but also have begun to generate new opportunities for new foundry defects. This work discusses the disadvantages of processes that can occur, to a limited extend, in the technologies associated with mould assembly and during the initial stages of pouring. These defects will be described in detail in the further part of the paper and are mainly related to the quality of foundry cores, therefore the discussion of these issues will mainly concern core moulding sands. Four different types of moulding mixtures were used in the research, representing the most popular chemically bonded moulding sands used in foundry practise. The main focus of this article is the analysis of the influence of the binder type on mechanical and thermal deformation in moulding sands.

Opis:
The article presents results on the influence range of mining exploitation in a rock mass at the site of dog headings located in an area of intensive mining exploitation. The research is based on geodetic measurements of the subsidence of measurement line points located above the panel of a mined-out longwall. Studies were applied to assess the range of mining influence in a rock mass, which is important for the protection of dog headings against mining damage. If a range of mining influence comprises any protected workings, then the deformations caused by mining operations may result in the loss of their functionality and even in dangerous damage to them. The values of the parameters of the influence theory determined by geodetic measurements of subsidence can be used to determine the permissible length of longwall panels, ensuring the maintenance of the functionality of the protected dog headings and to optimize stress concentration zones in terms of the risk of rock mass tremors.

Opis:
Deposits of the Röt Formation (Lower–Middle Triassic) in the eastern part of the North-Sudetic Synclinorium (Bolesławiec Syncline), SW Poland, include numerous synsedimentary deformation structures. Six boreholes with a total core length of ~434 m enabled macroscopic analysis and description of these deformation structures, supplemented by borehole log interpretation, calcimetric analysis, and interpretation of 2D surface seismics. An interval up to ~42 m-thick at the base of the Röt Formation showed both brittle and soft-sediment deformation structures. Their abundance and intensity decrease towards the top of the Röt Formation, and they completely disappear in the Muschelkalk (Middle Triassic). Both the number of boreholes and their locations indicate the presence of such structures across the entire study area. The occurrence of deformation structures in each borehole analysed and their large lateral range suggest that the uppermost part of the Lower Triassic and lowermost part of the Middle Triassic in the study area were influenced by seismic activity. As a result, tectonic reorganization of the study area is inferred for the latest Early/earliest Middle Triassic.

Opis:
The belt grinding process is gaining an increasing importance in the industrial sector. Due to its high flexibility regarding the range of workpiece materials and its adaptability to various, even geometrically complex workpiece shapes and designs, belt grinding has a broad field of applications. Typical application cases for this process include sealing surfaces on housing and engine parts, the production of camshafts and crankshafts as well as cylinders with high concentricity accuracy. Despite the extensive application of belt grinding in the manufacturing industry, the respective interactions between grinding belt and contact wheel of the process have not been holistically investigated. Therefore, this article focuses on the deformation of the contact wheel as well as the deformation during the interaction between the contact wheel and the grinding belt. This includes the flattening of the tool under grinding normal force Fn and deformation under centrifugal forces. The empirical data is intended to provide insights into the relationship between tool deformation and elastic effective depth of cut ae.

Opis:
Liniowe deformacje nieciągłe są najczęściej efektem prowadzenia eksploatacji górniczej w rejonie uskoków tektonicznych oraz eksploatacji górniczej do jednej wspólnej krawędzi co związane jest z tworzeniem się tzw. skarp eksploatacyjnych. Deformacje nieciągłe w podanych przypadkach ujawniają się w postaci szczelin, progów i uskoków terenowych powodując najczęściej szkody w obiektach infrastruktury drogowej. W pracy przedstawiono analizę przyczyn powstania liniowych deformacji nieciągłych sporządzoną na podstawie: inwentaryzacji progów terenowych, map pokładowych oraz zakresu dokonanej eksploatacji górniczej w wybranym rejonie.
Linear discontinuous deformations are usually the result of conduct of mining activities in the area of tectonic faults and mining to one common edge which is associated with the formation of the so-called slope supplies. Discontinuous deformations in given cases show up in the form of slots, thresholds and faults field causing the most damage to road infrastructure objects. The paper presents an analysis of the causes of linear deformation of discontinuous drawn up on the basis of: inventory thresholds field, coal seam maps and the scope of mining exploitation in the selected area.
