Opis:: The main objective of this work is the design of a model for the technical, economic and environmental evaluation in the rehabilitation and renovation of buildings versus their demolition. A first analysis is performed on the rehabilitation and renovation of buildings versus their demolition in the historical centre of Seville, Spain. Considering that many European cities have a historical centre that in many cases also represents the most authentic part of the city, this project can be adopted as an assessment tool for many similar case studies. In a first stage, a database for Seville, Spain, has been created using ArcGIS, which identifies those buildings needing restoration. The house of tomorrow maybe the one we already inhabit by transforming it with the renovations necessary in order to make it more safe, secure, energy efficient and comfortable, finally transforming it into a contemporary dwelling, even if they are part of a historical city centre.

Opis:: A novel application of building demolition waste for removal benzene from aqueous solutions. In this research, demolition waste from buildings has been studied for possible use as benzene removal adsorbent from aquatic solution. The effect of adsorbent dosage, contact time, initial benzene concentration, and initial pH on benzene adsorption capacity have been investigated in the batch adsorption experiments. The adsorption effects initially happened very rapidly and achieved equilibrium within 180 min. Benzene removal was observed to decrease by an increase in the initial concentration of benzene of 300–700 mg·L–1, an increase in the adsorbent dose of 0.4–2.4 g per 100 mL, where an optimum adsorbent dose equal to 1.2 g per 100 mL was found. The potential of adsorption increases with pH 3.0–7.0 to reach the maximum removal efficiency at pH 6.0. The findings showed that equilibrium data were adequately adapted and correlated with the Freundlich isotherm models. The average percentage of the removal at room temperature was about 98%. Results suggest that building demolition waste can be used effectively in industrial wastewater treatment for the removal of aromatic hydrocarbon, benzene, as a low-cost option.

Basic methods of leading demolition works of buildings have been described in the article. General principles regarding respective methods have been presented. In actual situations it is very rare to use only one method. They are used interchangeably, depending on the requirements and possibilities of the demolition case.

Opis:: The article addresses special conditions sanctioning demolition of buildings and structures erected without a permit on the state-owned land parcel restricted for construction according to the Georgian legislation and the practice of suspension of enforcement proceedings of similar resolutions by the court. It reviews the regulation envisaged by part 4 of Article 25 of Product Safety and Free Movement Code, according to which buildings constructed on state and/or self-governing unit-owned land parcels are subject to demolition and an appeal of the resolution on demolition does not suspend its enforcement. Despite the above, within the procedural legislation, the court suspends the enforcement process in the part of demolition. The article assesses the prospective of placing such buildings and structures within the legal framework in the future (compliance with the general plan, functional zoning, rules of development and use of the territory), i.e. their eligibility for obtaining a permit in deciding on the suspension/non-suspension of the demolition enforcement process. In Georgian practice, this factor is not accentuated by the construction control body when making a resolution on demolition, nor does the court evaluate it, which is the most significant circumstance in the process of making and enforcing such type of resolutions. Examples from the Polish and German practice where a permit allowing illegal buildings and structures to be admitted (as complying with the substantive construction law) is one of the most significant preconditions for making a resolution regarding demolition are presented and discussed. The circumstances to be considered in the course of suspension by the court of demolition of buildings and structures illegally constructed on state and/or self-governing unit-owned land parcels are also described, and legislative changes/ amended regulations for the sake of avoidance of procrastination of such type of demolitions have been recommended.

Opis:: Every day, construction and demolition waste is generated worldwide. As the road business and traffic grow, construction materials have evolved to include more unorthodox features. Road construction and maintenance rely significantly on quarried aggregates, resulting in high resource extraction demands. There is a trend toward employing secondary (recycled) materials rather than primary (virgin) ones to address this. This transformation requires the use of a variety of secondary and tertiary components, including waste byproducts. Numerous studies have been conducted to study and analyze the suitability and practical application of recycled materials in the field. Some recycled materials have better qualities than others, proving satisfactory performance in real-world circumstances. However, concerns about their incorporation persist, based on laboratory research and field observations. These concerns emphasize the necessity for more in-depth research to address potential difficulties. It is claimed that using recycled and tertiary materials in road construction can greatly help to save natural resources. This study predicts the attributes of selected materials, such as gradation, water absorption, maximum dry density, impact value, flakiness, and elongation, to establish their appropriateness for the production of Granular Sub-base (GSB) and Wet Mix Macadam (WMM).

Opis:: This essay offers an early assessment, after the fi rst 100 days, of Donald Trump’s bewildering ascendency to the US presidency. It examines his apocalyptic rhetoric as a spectacle of salvation by demolition and deal making, a polarizing and demonizing politics that trades in deception and distraction. The spectacle, whether it is a means to an end or an end in itself, functions to distort democratic politics and to displace public dissent over the negative impact of economic globalization. The question raised is whether and how dissent might be channeled more constructively through a narrative of fairness that balances interests equitably and deliberates policy options credibly.

Polish law requires for building conctructions permission obtained in the prescribed procedure. Volation of this duty leads to many consequences. The main goal of this work is to show the possibilities that are faced by those who break the construction law.One of them it is obviously - demolition. However polish regulations are focused to legalize those of them - guided by the principles of rational economy in the democratic state - which can be compatible with spatial order. The last, significant changes were not omitted.The work also includes many examples of judicial decisions and historical background.

Buildings can be built, repaired and upgraded, some have to be demolished. Demolition, in accordance with construction law, is a type of construction work involving the dismantling and removal from a space of a particular building or part thereof. Demolition should be carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with the requirements of law and the rules of conducting construction works. For this purpose, a project of demolition works should be developed in which the object to be demolished should be characterized and a safe technology and organization of works should be designed. The article describes the legal regulations concerning demolition, describes the basic methods of performing demolition works and presents the procedure of designing works.

Opis:: Disintegration of urban space is the opposite of its organisation; regeneration should be discussed in this context as it restores or introduces morphological attributes that meet the needs of local communities. The paper identifies the impact of regeneration upon urban space (re)integration and the role of planned demolition as a regeneration tool on the example of el Cabanyal-Canyamelar district in Valencia, Spain. Studies have demonstrated that demolition can be considered a rational component of regeneration and that not only morphological attributes of the transformed area are important for urban space regeneration but also intentions and ways of using demolition as a regeneration tool.
