Opis:: The article presents the opinions of the teaching staff of 16 Public High Schools located in Bialystok on the idea of their occupational development and their participation in it, the main determinants of the developmental process and conditions and possibilities of occupational fulfillment. The information was collected on the basis of the questionnaire carried out in year 2008. In the research took part 160 educators (86% women and 14% men). The authors also describe the activities of the management staff of the researched high schools promoting occupational development.

Opis:: The article presents results of research conducted with the participation of professionally active school educators, working in primary and lower secondary schools in the province of Silesia. The research model assumes that development support concerns the following question about relationships: “who provides support?”, “who is supported?”, “what is the purpose of the support?”, “when?”, “how?” and “what is the result?” A “collective case study” qualitative method was employed in the form of the narrative interview. The research focused on educational experience of school educators in the process of supporting gifted students.

Opis:: An educator of a child in a crèche undertakes a reflection on the educational activities and their orientation in a theoretical sense. Together with the co-operating educators, such person takes up “intellectual professional life”, for instance, by developing a pedagogical project, preparing tools for observing events in the practice field, conducting meetings and discussions concerning the information gathered to ensure shaping a balanced relationship with the child. One of the possible choices, among non-directive concepts of education, is to accompany the child in its development. Getting to know this concept and its application in practice is not achieved without difficulty.
Wychowawca małego dziecka w żłobku podejmuje namysł dotyczący działań wychowawczych i tego, co je orientuje w sensie teoretycznym. Wspólnie ze współpracującymi wychowawcami podejmuje „intelektualne życie profesjonalne”, na przykład poprzez opracowywanie projektu pedagogicznego, przygotowywanie narzędzi obserwacji zdarzeń z pola praktyki, przeprowadzanie spotkań i rozmów na temat zgromadzonych informacji, by dbać o kształtowanie zrównoważonych relacji z dzieckiem. Wśród niedyrektywnych koncepcji wychowania jedną z możliwych do wyboru jest towarzyszenie w rozwoju dziecka. Jej poznawanie i aplikowanie w praktyce realizowane jest nie bez trudności.

Opis:: The article presents the new course offered by the Maria Grzegorzewska University - Interdisciplinary Disability Studies - against the Polish higher education system with special emphasis on issues relating to the historical and modern organization of teacher training for special educators. The Interdisciplinary Disability Studies course is a unique program in Poland that is based on a new, positive and multifaceted approach to and understanding of disability. The authors analyze the legal foundations of the new program, explain the need to open the program, describe the graduate's profile and refer to the curriculum. They describe the history of Polish special education: from the beginning of systemic teacher training for special educators through Maria Grzegorzewska's activities to modern times. They show the place of Interdisciplinary Disability Studies in Polish special education and in worldwide Disability Studies in that context.

It also underlines the significance of this concept in teachers’ and educators’ personal and professional development and in the perspectives of educational transactional analysis.

Środkami wychowawczymi są w nich specjalna formacja religijna oraz właściwe kierownictwo duchowe. Niższe Seminaria Duchowne powinny być wspólnotami prawdziwie wychowawczymi. Styl życia i proces wychowawczy, który proponują trzeba dostosować do młodzieńczego wieku alumnów, ich mentalności, poziomu umysłowego, etapu rozwoju i wskazań psychologii. Nie powinno się też zaniedbywać nabywania przez nich odpowiedniego doświadczenia w sprawach ludzkich ani utrudniać im kontaktów z własną rodziną. Nauczanie, jaki mają otrzymać, tak należy zaprogramować, aby mogli naukę kontynuować bez przeszkód gdzie indziej, jeśli obiorą inny sposób życia. Wychowawcy Niższych Seminariów Duchownych winni być wybierani przez Biskupów spośród najlepszych kapłanów diecezjalnych, odznaczających się pobożnością, gruntownym wykształceniem, odpowiednim doświadczeniem duszpasterskim, gorliwością i dobrym wykształceniem pedagogicznym. Ich zasadniczym zadaniem jest pomaganie alumnom we właściwym i roztropnym rozeznaniu życiowego powołania.
Minor Seminaries are presented in the conciliar Decree Optatam totius and in the post conciliar teaching of the Church as institutions established to cultivate the seeds of vocation, which express themselves in the human qualities and a faith directed towards a serious approach to vocational discernment and a particular attraction towards the priesthood. These Seminaries are established as a setting for vocational growth. The educational means applied are a special religious formation and appropriate spiritual direction. Minor Seminaries must be truly educational communities. The way of life which they offer should be appropriate to age, mentality, development and to the criteria of a healthy psychology, without neglecting a suitable experience of human life and family relationships. The studies should be arranged in such a way that they do not created difficulties for those who intend to follow them, in the event that they leave the Minor Seminary. The educators of Minor Seminaries must be chosen by the Bishops from among the best diocesan priests and must be recognised for their devotion and sound doctrine, appropriate personal experience, zeal for souls and a particular aptitude for formation and teaching. Their principle task is to help seminarians in their fitting and prudent vocational discernment.

The presence of Religious Education in Polish schools for the past twenty years often arouses various discussions among Polish society. At the same time it uncovers the image of a modern family, religious education of children, parents’ authority and their personal religious experiences. A lot of teachers of Religion and priests point to the negligence in the early religious education of children as parents tend to shift this duty on teachers of Religion and Religious Education at school. This is reflected by the fact that a great deal of children coming to a kindergarten or school hear about God and the Faith for the first time. All the above mentioned facts lead to the questions: ‘What does it mean to educate children religiously?’ ‘Who is responsible for this duty and when should it be started?’. Those who seek the answers may find useful the analysis of the new Catechetical Curriculum of the Catholic Church in Poland of 2010.
