Opis:
The purpose of this study is to investigate EFL university students' learning strategies used in a digital English learning environment, and to analyze the interrelations between their use of learning strategies and individual learner factors, such as gender, English proficiency levels, learning experiences, and the duration of using the digital learning environment. The participants of the study were 400 students selected from two universities located in South Korea. A questionnaire was developed to examine the use of digital English learning strategies (DELS) based on Oxford's (1990) SILL and was distributed in an online survey form. Data collected in the present study was statistically analyzed to show that, first, the most frequently used strategy category was compensation strategies, and this was followed by memory and metacognitive strategies. Second, learner factors included in this study showed statistically significant relationships with the use of DELS, but the duration of using digital devices was not related to DELS usage. From these findings, the study concludes that understanding the learning process and strategy use patterns is very critical to make students strategic learners in a digital English learning context and eventually to develop students’ digital English abilities. The suggestions and implications for further study are also discussed.

The paper presents the framework for the assessment of digital educational resources for students who are engaged in autonomous personalized learning. Through a questionnaire and personal observations, we identified the necessity to equip students with skills and knowledge on resources quality assessment in terms of digital competence advancement. We adapted the framework that includes four components: pedagogical, technological, didactic and academic and expanded their content. Having analyzed the students’ narratives on their resources application experience, questionnaires answers and results of the personal assessment process, we observed the positive dynamic in mastering the skills of resources quality assessment after the implementation of the framework into the learning process. We suggest the algorithm of the framework implementation.

Opis:
Introduction: Amenorrhea is a symptom of a variety of disorders and dysfunctions. Historically, there have been many practical difficulties associated with the diagnosis of amenorrhea due to the complex nature of the ovaries, pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Purpose: To develop a free, simple stand alone educational research software (ERS) to assist the education of clinicians and laboratorians (or undergraduate students) with regard to the clinicobiochemical evaluation of amenorrhea. Μaterials and methods: The software was designed using: a) Microsoft Windows as operating system, b) C# .NET (4.0) as software component (plug-in), and c) C# (C Sharp) as (object-oriented) programming language. It can be distributed on Compact Disk (CD) and be run on any Personal Computer (PC) on Windows. Results: The developed (ERS) -which we have called ERSA v.1.0 - does not require comprehensive skills and expertise in computers. Its educational benefits (common reasons for use) include activating motivation, stimulating recall of the prerequisite material, providing learning guidance and feedback (interactivity), usability outside timetabled course, and competency assessment. Conclusions: The free ERSA v.1.0 could be a practical digital teaching tool for supporting the clinicobiochemical education. Future research should continue so as to evaluate and improve its accuracy, appropriateness, and usability by healthcare students or professionals.

The article presents an insight into an exploratory study carried out between February and May 2014. The study looked into the process of teacher training enhanced by new technology: an MA CALL seminar facilitated in the blended format as a series of online and offline tutorials. The participants of the class were 9 first-year students of the TEFL MA programme at the Pedagogical University in Cracow, Poland. The study and its results were described in detail in previous publications (Turula, 2015, Turula, in press). The present article investigates an aspect of the process researched: negotiatingbetween the digital realm, with its different tools and their affordances and a socialcontext of the digital-or blended, as is the case here-education.

This research develops AR in the form of Smart Indonesia Maps, which display information about natural features, geography, flora and fauna, culture, and social life on Indonesian islands in real-time. The objective of this research was to develop an AR-based Smart Indonesia Maps model as a digital learning resource in social studies learning. Embracing a Research and Development model has completed the preliminary field-testing stage of all ten stages of research. Limited trials were undertaken at state/private junior high schools in Bandung City, Bandung Regency, and West Bandung Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, with the students and teachers as the research subjects. The data collection techniques included observation, interviews, document studies, focus group discussions, and attitude scale questionnaires. The results demonstrate that: Smart Indonesia Maps consist of main material objects by revealing the culture of the five major islands in Indonesia. The production of the model constituted three stages, namely pre-production, production, and post-production. The model was quite effective in fostering student critical thinking and creativity.

This study seeks to analyze the students’ need, the conceptual model, and generate a living values-based digital learning resource model in Civic Education. The research and development design was adopted, with the subjects being junior high school students in Bandung City and West Bandung Regency, Indonesia. The students need living values-based digital learning resources in accordance with 21st century learning and skills. Conceptually, the model of living values-digital based learning resources is one that incorportaes living values and living values education principles into civic education learning materials through various platforms in the Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS). The model product in the form of a Moodle-based LMS contains teaching materials, living values, media, discussion forums, assignment uploads, and evaluation for the civic education. The model is thought to develop student’s character.

Emergency Remote Teaching and Learning (ERTL) has encouraged teachers and students to be autonomous and creative individuals. To create a supporting learning environment, the role of technology is important for classroom activities. Thus, this practical article aims to present an integration of digital applications in designing lesson plans across grade levels in the context of Indonesian EFL learning. The learning targets are focused on teacher education program, upper secondary school, and lower secondary school. Related to the technology, Canva, Zoom Annotation, iSpring Suite 9, and TikTok have been selected to accommodate learning process considering its motivating and communicative performance. Despite the limitations, exploring features of technology for educational purpose contributes to strengthening teacher professional development, particularly lesson planning.

In the era of digitization and globalization, education is undergoing major changes. Learning new competencies is crucial, despite some obstacles such as pandemics. It is possible to perceive the development of digital learning and the evolution of society into a smart society. The article examines the role of digital learning in this process, using a review of scientific literature. Databases such as Proquest, Emerald, Scopus, and Ebsco were searched, using terms related to online education and Society 5.0. An analysis of 27 of the 18,980 entries shows the relationship between the development of education, technology, and society. Technology influences education by promoting self-reliance. However, technology alone is not enough to improve the quality of life, hence the growing need for new forms of learning, leading to Education 5.0. E-learning, focusing on the individual learner, promotes the development of a smart society and the growth of economic activity.

Opis:
This project attempts to measure how teachers in a TESOL graduate program practically employ technology to teach English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Determining how teachers in training employ technology in teaching is difficult as one first needs to determine an instrument that can track evidence of how teachers envision combining technology with teaching EAP concepts in their teaching environments. A teacher training activity that can also be used as an instrument to measure how teacher trainees use or envision using technology to teach is student generated teaching suggestions (SGTSs), an activity that asks teacher trainees to develop and post teaching suggestions related to weekly course readings to a Moodle forum. If the SGTSs relate to technology, this activity can also be used to develop and measure technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge (TPACK). Utilizing a longitudinal research design, SGTSs that employed technology to teach EAP posted in a number of master’s in TESOL courses over a three-year period are presented and analyzed to determine how teacher trainees envisioned implementing technology in their teaching, the value of asking teachers to make SGTSs related to teaching with technology, the implications of their suggestions concerning teaching EAP with technology, and ways to improve the activity to better develop TPACK in student teachers.
