Opis:: Within the rapid changes in communication techniques, culture, pedagogy, and developments in knowledge, it is vital that educators are familiar with new educational changes, mainly those changes which are connected to technology. Change can be accompanied by fear, and thus some teachers might resist changing (Fullan, 2006). In the digital age, some teachers might be reluctant to change because they feel they are immigrants in the digital world (Prensky, 2001). In developing countries, such as Algeria and Libya, teachers might feel more frustrated because of the digital gap in their countries and because of the digital gap with the students (Warschauer, 2003). This conceptual paper aims at exploring the main factors that inhibit teachers from change. This paper focuses on teachers from k- to college teachers in general. The rationale behind dealing with teachers in general, and not teachers of a specific discipline is to explore the way teachers in low technology areas could see their development from a digital perspective. It is also assumed that digital education is needed in all fields of education as there are already policies about the integration of technology in education (Hamdy, 2007). In the context of this paper, change is defined as switch from Mindset 1 to Mindset 2. Educators with Mindset 1 consider the digital age as an extension of the industrial world; whereas educators with Mindset 2 believe the digital age is a post-industrial era, and the changes that are happening should be approached as new.

Opis:: Mark Prensky created a specific division of society into digital immigrants and digital natives. The aim of this article is to reflect on the challenge posed to contemporary catechesis by generations of digital natives. Among the various conclusions should be distinguished: concern for the development of faith of young people from the generation of digital natives, remember to build the right human relationship, learn to communicate with God, care should be taken for a simple language of catechesis that will show a loving Christ, care about the right image of the human person, supported by testimony, care about kind and authentic dialogue with man and with God. Responsible for the religious education of young people are mainly adults, implicitly: parents, catechists, pastors.

Opis:: In the study we present results of two research projects conducted simultaneously at the Faculty of Social Sciences, UWM in Olsztyn referring to the place digital technologies have in the learning processes in the opinions of Early Education students. The results show that the group of surveyed students might be situated on the borderline of digital natives and digital immigrants’ worlds. The conducted survey demonstrated limited trust to digital sources of knowledge amongst students and discrepancy between their personal experiences with using new technology, on a daily basis, and traditional ways of learning proposed by the University. The analysis of the case study indicated that for preparing future teachers to work with children (digital natives), it is important to organize a learning environment in which both worlds – digital and analogue – are connected.

Finding their way in a reality where the primary resource is information and access to it is becoming a challenge not only for digital natives – people for whom technology is a natural habitat, but also digital immigrants who are permanently learning to exist in cyber reality. The article presents the relationship between technology and human life with a special focus on the risks and challenges of functioning in cyberspace. The concept of digital natives and digital immigrants is also presented, as well as the essence of digital competence and digital exclusion as an element of social exclusion.

The use of new social media platforms as marketing tools on the example of Snapchat

Opis:: The thesis aims to present the changes that have taken place in marketing due to the growing importance of the Internet in everyday life, resulting in the intensified social media presence. Crucial for this thesis is the emergence of a new generation of media, called the ephemeral media, which opens still unexplored marketing perspective. The author combines the new face of marketing with a transformation having place among the new generations born in the Internet era. The particular attention was paid to an application called Snapchat, the flagship example of the ephemeral media, which is very popular among young people. The author presented the findings of her research showing marketing possibilities of the application which differ from the traditional forms.
Niniejsza praca dyplomowa ma na celu przedstawienie zmian, które zaszły w marketingu pod wpływem wzrostu znaczenia internetu w codziennym życiu, zwłaszcza obecności mediów społecznościowych. Bardzo istotne jest pojawienie się nowej generacji mediów, nazywanych efemerycznymi, które otwierają niepoznane dotąd perspektywy marketingowe. Autorka zestawia nowe oblicze marketingu z transformacją mającą miejsce wśród nowych pokoleń urodzonych w dobie internetu. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono, bardzo popularnej wśród młodych ludzi, aplikacji Snapchat - flagowemu przykładowi mediów efemerycznych. Przedstawione zostały badania wykazujące możliwości marketingowe tej aplikacji, które odbiegają od tradycyjnych form.

Opis:: The prevalence of the Internet caused a change in human relations. This is particularly noticeable in the ways of thinking, communicating and lifestyles between successive generations. In 1989, the first generation who did not know the World without of omnipresent network was born. These are the so called Digital Natives, for whom the Internet is an inherent part of reality. The boundaries between the online and offline worlds are transparent. They are learning new technologies much easier, and their tendency to reflect on their behavior on the network is much lower than the older generation - Digital Immigrants. The aim of this diploma work was to examine patterns of the new media usage and the level of reflextivity as a factor differentiating the group generations of Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants.
Rozpowszechnienie Internetu spowodowało zmianę w relacjach międzyludzkich. Jest to szczególnie widoczne w sposobach myślenia, komunikacji i stylach życia pomiędzy kolejnymi pokoleniami. W 1989 na świat przyszło pierwsze pokolenie, które nie poznało świata bez wszechobecnej sieci. Są to tak zwani Digital Natives, dla których Internet stanowi dla niego immanentną część rzeczywistości, a granice pomiędzy światami offline i online są transparentne. Dużo łatwiej uczą się nowych technologii, a ich skłonność do refleksji nad swoim zachowaniem w sieci jest znacznie niższa niż u starszego pokolenia - Digital Immigrants. Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej było zbadanie wzorów korzystania z nowych mediów oraz poziomu refleksyjności jako czynnika różnicującego grupy pokoleń Digital Natives i Digital Immigrants.

Artykuł jest próbą pokazania, iż mimo ciągłych zmian, rozwoju technologii, zalewu informa-cji wciąż są pożądane relacje mistrz–uczeń.
The purpose of the article is to demonstrate various views on the contemporary users of new technologies, called Digital Natives. Today’s learners are called digital experts by some authors, because of their continuous existence on the Internet. In turn, others notice that existence in the virtual world does not elevate to the rank of an advanced user of new technologies. This belief is accompanied by long-standing observations made by the authors, as well as statements provided by the students them selves, who often feel lonely in their contact with the academic reality. The article is an attempt to show that despite constant changes, development of technology, inflow of information, the master-pupil relationship is still desired.
