Opis:: In the era of common access to freedom on the Internet, there are more and more controversies between advocates of complete freedom and followers of the idea of limiting the usage of the global network’s resources. Should the Internet become a space of unlimited freedom? Contrary to common belief, the answer to such a question is not that obvious, although intuitively one would like to say yes. The Internet is basically an egalitarian tool of communication, a space of easy creation and transfer of content, for which the only limit is technology and unlimited human imagination. Freedom seems to be not only an immanent, but even a constitutive feature of the virtual space in which the Internet functions.

Opis:: The purpose of this article is to reflect on what freedom of speech in the web is. In the age of universal freedom of access to the Internet, controversy is growing between supporters of full freedom and supporters of legal restrictions on the use of global Internet resources. Should the Internet be the space of unlimited freedom? Surprisingly enough, the answer to this question is not obvious, although intuitively one would like to answer in the affirmative. By definition, the Internet is an egalitarian tool of communication, a space for free creation and flow of content, for which the only limit is technology and human imagination, whose boundaries cannot be determined. The global network is a field completely unregulated and not bound by any rules. This situation is slowly changing and legislators and courts are beginning to set the boundaries of online proceedings. People posting content on the Internet must do so with precaution so as not to violate the limits of freedom of speech, especially in the field of broadly understood public security, crime, morality, public order, other people’s personal rights, and confidential information.

This leads to the blurring of the boundaries between the media - leading to their convergence. Media convergence forces press publishers strategies, not only in their development, but also to survive in a competitive market. It is appropriate in these circumstances making activities that will strengthen the position of the publishing market. The purpose of this publication is to analyze the aspect of the transformation of the press in the digital environment - the introduction of charges for the available content on the Internet , and an indication that this phenomenon also applies to the local newspaper market. Exemplification of the foregoing is "Gazeta Wyborcza".

Opis:: The main purpose of the article is to diagnose the awareness and attitudes of respondents towards the fake news and disinformation on the Internet. The following hypothesis was set within the framework of the presented objective: the phenomenon of disinformation contributes to the creation of a sense of threat and arousal of social unrest. Two research approaches were used in the research process - the first was based on quantitative study using a questionnaire as a method of data collection, and the second was relied on general content analysis of the literature on the subject and netographic content. The findings of the research allowed to determine the priority measures for taking action against disinformation. The assumptions of the article correspond to the current challenges in the issue of fighting disinformation and thus establishing strategies to counter disinformation. The main research limitations were the restricted sample size, limited generalizability in the conducted analysis of the content of the literature, and the broad scope of the study resulting from the areas of knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding awareness of disinformation presence on the Internet.

Opis:: The present article deals with one of the phenomena of the Industrial (Digital) revolution 4.0, which is digital currency in broader sense, respectively virtual currencies, as some authors refer to them. Despite the fact that this phenomenon is not such a novelty in society, it has demanded the focus of legal science only in recent years and the discussion has not subsided, it can be stated that it is only in the beginning. Along with digital currency in broader sense, there are several issues, such as the correctness of their naming, their legal status and, as far as the area of tax law is concerned, these are also questions of the manner and possibilities of taxing transactions with them. Authors set as a goal of this article to verify the following hypotheses: - the naming of digital currency in broader sense as a currency is incorrect given the existing knowledge of financial law science. - the legal regulation of digital currency in broader sense in selected Member States of the European Union is not sufficient. To verifying the above hypotheses, the authors used several methods of writing scientific works, but especially analysis, synthesis, the method of comparison and the historical method, which the authors used in combination with each other.

Opis:: The topic of cultural heritage is the subject of many interdisciplinary studies. So far, these studies have focused on the issues of classifying particular types of heritage, their functions and benefits, components and determinants. However, relatively less attention was paid to the dimension of a methodical approach to education and rebuilding cultural identity through heritage. Meanwhile, generational changes, especially in the dimension of knowledge perception, indicate such a need. The aim of this article is to present the perspective of using open innovations in the transfer of cultural heritage used in shaping cultural identity and education. Our review and conceptual article is an attempt to draw attention to the problem of changes in the perception of cultural heritage by generations born in the era of the digital revolution and the need to take these changes into account in heritage education. Taking these conditions into account allowed the authors to develop a model for generating open innovation in the outside-in process and then to develop a model for making it available through the inside-out process. The role of education in this process was also emphasized.

Opis:: W przedstawionym artykule podejmuję się interpretacji pojęcia wolności i jej aspektów, które w praktyce wyrażane są przez wolność słowa w Internecie. Na podstawie aktualnie obserwowanych zjawisk i bieżących wydarzeń wskazane zostały zagrożenia wynikające z powszechnej dostępności do publikacji opinii w sieci. W podanych przykładach zaprezentowano zarówno praktykę dokonywanych regulacji, jak i manipulacji w tym zakresie. Przedstawiony artykuł nie aspiruje do całościowej eksplikacji wpływu nowych technologii na funkcjonowanie społeczeństw w wymiarze holistycznym, stanowi raczej próbę egzegezy jednego z jej obszarów – dotyczącą ewoluowania interakcji międzyludzkich pod wypływem nowych technologii. Niniejsza praca próbuje udzielić odpowiedź na pytanie, czy możliwe je sformułowanie się i funkcjonowanie społeczności wirtualnych, analogicznych do społeczności w świecie rzeczywistym? Czy zatem Internet powinien być przestrzenią nieograniczonej niczym wolności? Autorka konfrontuje ze sobą różnorodne aspekty zagrożeń wolności w Internecie, by uzyskany obszar był kompleksowy i obiektywny, daleki od jednostronności i schematycznych uproszczeń. Internet jest bowiem z założenia egalitarnym narzędziem komunikacji, przestrzenią swobodnego tworzenia i przepływu treści, dla których ograniczeniem jest tylko technologia oraz ludzka wyobraźnia, której granic wyznaczyć nie sposób. Wolność zatem zdaje się być nie tylko immanentną, ale wręcz konstytutywną cechą tej wirtualnej przestrzeni, w której funkcjonuje Internet. Przedmiotowy artykuł wskazuje na potrzebę konsolidacji wysiłków ekspertów w wielu zakresach: bezpieczeństwa, psychologii, prawa nad swobodą wolności społeczeństwa w przestrzeni bezpieczeństwa.
Freedom seems to be not only an immanent, but even a constitutive feature of the virtual space in which the Internet functions. Based on current observations and current events, threats resulting from the general ability to publish opinions on the Internet have been indicated. This article does not aspire to be a comprehensive explication of the impact of new technologies on the functioning of societies in a holistic dimension, it is rather an attempt at exegesis of one of its areas - concerning the evolution of human interactions under the influence of new technologies. The author addresses various aspects of threats to freedom on the Internet so that the obtained understanding is comprehensive and objective, far from being a one-sided and schematic simplification. The Internet is by definition an egalitarian communication tool, a space for free creation and flow of content, limited only by technology and human imagination, the boundaries of which cannot be defined. The article indicates the need to consolidate the efforts of experts from many areas: security; psychology; law, as it appertains to freedom of society in the security space.

Porusza też kwestię interaktywności, dzięki której widz może być współautorem danego dzieła. Notaro nie stawia żadnej sztywnej tezy; przedstawia raczej różne postawy wobec obecnej kondycji autora – te, które wiążą się z wiarą w interaktywność, i te, które widzą w niej iluzję; te, które w entuzjastycznym tonie zapowiadają demokratyzację autorstwa dzięki nowym mediom oraz Internetowi, i te, które sceptycznie do owych „techno-utopijnych” koncepcji podchodzą. Autorka przedstawia też niezwykle istotne zjawiska z zakresu rozwoju nowych mediów – inicjatywy takie jak Open Source Movement, pojęcie „Hollywood 2.0” czy „Future Cinema”. Jej rozważaniom cały czas towarzyszy refleksja, jak we współczesnych technologiach odbija się lub zatraca „aura artysty”, etos autora jako mistrza, geniuszu, indywidualnego twórcy. Anna Notaro focuses primarily on how the concept of the auteur/author manifests itself today in the context of technological changes and a “digital revolution”. She examines the concept from its inception (in Cahiers du cinéma) through its critical reception by post-structuralists to its contemporary forms – scattered, collective and displaced authorship. The issue of interactivity is also considered; it helps the viewer to become the co-author of a given work. Notaro posits no stiff thesis; she rather offers various approaches to the present condition of the author – those that believe in interactivity and those that see in it an illusion; those that enthusiastically herald the democratisation of authorship via new media and the Internet and those that are skeptical about “techno-utopian” concepts. Notaro’s article also engages with the extremely important phenomena as regards the expansion of new media, including the initiative started by the Open Source Movement, the concept of “Hollywood 2.0” and “Future Cinema”. In her reasoning she is accompanied by the reflection on how the “aura of the artist”, the ethos of the author as master, genius or a singular creator is reflected or lost in contemporary technologies. Opis:: Djent jest najmłodszym podgatunkiem metalu progresywnego, zarazem beneficjentem cyfrowej rewolucji. Przekracza tradycyjne modele muzyki popularnej i stara się ze wszech miar być nowatorski, ale jego awangardowość nie stanowi zaprzeczenia metalu, lecz znacząco wzbogaca zasób jego muzycznych środków. W djencie można jednocześnie widzieć symptomy (neo-)modernistyczne, czyli zachowanie indywidualizmu i autonomii, przy jednoczesnym zniesieniu granic i wdrażaniu utopijnego planu złączenia sztuki z życiem i społeczeństwem, niezrealizowanego w pełni przez pierwsze, historyczne awangardy.
Deep-rooted ideas of “art rock” do not expire and recently gave rise to the new, progressive metal trends like djent. It wants to be the elite, the modern, and the innovative. At the expense of greater commercial success, djent bands cut off from the mainstream and operate independently, incessantly exceeding stylistic and aesthetical boundaries. Poetics of their music often reveal a tension between elitism and egalitarianism, intellect and corporeality, individuality and convention. But can it be seen as some kind of musical trans-avant-garde or neomodernistic?
