Opis:: The data processing in modern nuclear spectroscopy is dominated by digital methods. In this paper we present a full set of algorithms necessary for energy reconstruction, baseline restoration, trigger generation and selection of events (acceptation) which are based on digital signal processing (DSP) techniques. All algorithms were fully evaluated using mathematical apparatus of Z-transform. The energy reconstruction algorithm is based on trapezoidal shaping. The baseline restoration makes the use of a digital moving average, while trigger generation algorithm utilize a digital form of RC-CR2 filter with protection windowing. The evaluated algorithms has been implemented and used in the demonstrator build for national borders protection.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono wyniki pracy, której celem było opracowanie układu tomografu pojemnościowego dedykowanego do zastosowań przemysłowych. Został on zbudowany na metalowej rurze z podłączonym układem kontrolno-pomiarowym, zdolnym do samodzielnej pracy na przewodzie rurowym. Na potrzeby prezentowanego urządzenia zostały zaprojektowane i zbudowane dedykowane układy pomiarowe. W pracy wykazano, że mogą one posłużyć do opracowania nowego, w pełni funkcjonalnego układu, który może znaleźć zastosowanie w przemyśle.
In this paper results of work directed to make an industrial version of a capacitance tomography application was presented. It was build on a metal pipe with a control and measurement unit connected in. This ECT application was prepared for an independent work, without necessity to connect any external personal computer. For the prepared application dedicated measurement modules were build. Presented modules can be used for preparing other applications based on ECT.

Opis:: W referacie opisano zaprojektowany i wykonany praktycznie jednokanałowy imitator sygnałów radiolokacyjnych, który pozwala na generację sygnału odbitego od celu o zadanej trajektorii, dla pasma częstotliwości pośredniej. Przedstawione w referacie stanowisko może być wykorzystane do weryfikacji analogowego traktu przetwarzania sygnału radiolokacyjnego na częstotliwości pośredniej oraz algorytmów DSP wykorzystywanych do estymacji współrzędnych imitowanego celu.
The paper describes a single channel imitator for radar signals which was designed and made practically to generate a signal reflected from an aerial target with a given trajectory on the intermediate frequency band. Presented setup can be used to verify the analog channel for radar signal processing at intermediate frequencies and the DSP algorithms used to estimate coordinates of the imitated target.

Opis:: The work presents the results of experimental study on the possibilities of determining the source of an ultrasonic signal in two-dimensional space (distance, horizontal angle). During the research the team used a self-constructed linear array of MEMS microphones. Knowledge in the field of sonar systems was utilized to analyse and design a location system based on a microphone array. Using the above mentioned transducers and broadband ultrasound sources allows a quantitative comparison of estimation of the location of an ultrasonic wave source with the use of broadband modulated signals (modelled on bats’ echolocation signals) to be performed. During the laboratory research the team used various signal processing algorithms, which made it possible to select an optimal processing strategy, where the sending signal is known.

Opis:: Cyfrowe przetwarzanie sygnałów (CPS; ang. Digital Signal Processing, DSP) jest dziedziną nauki i techniki zajmującą się sygnałami w postaci cyfrowej i metodami ich przetwarzania. Cyfrowe przetwarzanie sygnałów i analogowe przetwarzanie sygnałów są gałęziami nadrzędnej dyscypliny: przetwarzania sygnałów. Pierwszym etapem cyfrowego przetwarzania sygnałów jest zazwyczaj konwersja sygnału z postaci analogowej na cyfrową za pomocą przetwornika analogowo-cyfrowego. Często sygnał przetworzony cyfrowo jest sygnałem wejściowym dla modelu neuronowego. Neuronowa analiza obrazów to nowa dziedzina cyfrowego przetwarzania sygnałów. Można ją wykorzystać do identyfikacji wybranych obiektów występujących w postaci bitmapy.
Digital signal processing (DSP) is the science and technology domain dealing with signals in a digital representation and the processing methods of these signals. DSP and analog signal processing are subfields of signal processing. Since the goal of DSP is usually to measure or filter continuous real-world analog signals, the first step is usually to convert the signal from an analog to a digital form, by using an analog to digital converter. Often, the required output signal is another analog input signal for neuronal models. The neuronal pictures analysis is then a new field of digital processing of signals. It is possible to use it to identification of chosen objects given in the form of bitmap.

Opis:: Nowadays, digital signal processing is one of the most dynamic domains of engineering. It may be useful to apply it to the diagnosis of automotive engines. Digital signal processing seems to be particularly useful in the analysis of acoustic vibrations generated by engines and may be developed into a useful diagnostic tool. In the first part of the paper, the evolution of the digital signal processor is presented. The principles and practices of DSP operation are compared to those of classical processors. The second part of the paper presents a method to diagnosis malfunctioning internal combustion engines by comparing the vibration spectrum from efficient and inefficient engines. To measure the vibration, an accelerometer was attached to the valve cover and wired to an acquisition card with conditioning circuits. The data was analyzed using short timed, Fast Fourier Transforms with characteristic parametric and non-parametric time windows. The subject of the research was 1.9 TDi AWX type diesel engine. A malfunctioning engine was simulated by unplugging one of the injection pumps.
Przetwarzanie cyfrowe (Digital Signal Processing) jest obecnie jedną z najbardziej dynamicznych dziedzin inżynierii. Wydaje się koniecznym wprowadzenie nowej dziedziny do diagnostyki pojazdów samochodowych, a zwłaszcza silników spalinowych. Szczególnie przydatne jest użycie cyfrowego przetwarzania w analizie drgań wibroakustycznych, generowanych przez silnik jak i - w przyszłości, analizie obrazów. W pierwszej części pracy przedstawiono zarys historyczny rozwoju procesorów, przeznaczonych do cyfrowego przetwarzania sygnałów oraz podstawę ich działania, wyróżniając ich zalety w stosunku do układów klasycznych. Druga część pracy przedstawia metodę diagnozowania uszkodzonego silnika spalinowego przez komparację widma drgań wibroakustycznych, pochodzących od silnika sprawnego i uszkodzonego. Czujnikiem drgań był akcelerometr, umieszczony na obudowie głowicy, sprzężony przez układy kondycjonujące z kartą akwizycji pomiaru. Przy analizie otrzymanych sygnałów wibroakustycznych, użyto krótkoczasową, szybką transformatę Fouriera z zastosowaniem charakterystycznych okien czasowych parametrycznych i nieparametrycznych. Przedmiotem badań był silnik o zapłonie samoczynnym typu 1,9 TDi AWX, z układem zasilania w paliwo wyposażonym w pompowtryskiwacze. Modelowanie uszkodzenia polegało na zasymulowaniu awarii jednego z pompowtryskiwaczy.

Opis:: The phenomenon of echo in the telecommunications channels is caused by the reflection of an electrical signal in a long line. In order to improve the quality of the transmitted sound, various adaptive filters are used to remove or at least reduce the level of the reflected delayed signal. However, such a process may result in a degradation in the quality of speech, although its intelligibility may not get worse. The work presents the results of subjective studies on assessing the quality of speech signals under the process of acoustic echo cancellation using different algorithms. The algorithms studied were: LMS (Least Mean Squares), NLMS (Normalized Least Mean Squares) and AP (Affine Projection). The study consisted of assessing the signal quality after applying the echo elimination process using the Degradation Category Rating method. A total of 312 signals were used in the test: 192 male speech and 120 female speech samples. Echo simulation was used using different delay times and levels of echo signal. Both types of speech have signal delay times of 20 ms, 50 ms, 100 ms and 200 ms with echo level values of -6 dB, -12 dB, -18 dB and -24 dB. In addition, for female speech signals, a delay time of 150 ms was introduced. The study involved 14 people aged between 18 and 38, including six women and eight men. All subjects had normal good hearing. Seven listeners had participated in subjective listening tests of the sound quality assessment previously. The listeners’ opinions were collected on prepared questionnaire. It was found that the highest ratings were given to the AP filter, while the worst ratings were featured the NLMS. It should also be noted that the range between the results obtained for AP and NLMS for female speech is smaller in comparison to male. It is also interesting that the discrepancy in ratings was greatest for a delay time of 100 ms for the AP filter and 200 ms for the LMS filter. It can therefore be concluded from the obtained results that, in the case of acoustic echo cancelation, AP filter introduced the lowest quality degradation while the LMS achieved slightly worse average ratings when compared to the AP filter . The NLMS filter characterized by the worst ratings, and in some cases received twice the quality degradation compared to the AP filter.

Opis:: This work present an efficient hardware architecture of Support Vector Machine (SVM) for the classification of Hyperspectral remotely sensed data using High Level Synthesis (HLS) method. The high classification time and power consumption in traditional classification of remotely sensed data is the main motivation for this work. Therefore presented work helps to classify the remotely sensed data in real-time and to take immediate action during the natural disaster. An embedded based SVM is designed and implemented on Zynq SoC for classification of hyperspectral images. The data set of remotely sensed data are tested on different platforms and the performance is compared with existing works. Novelty in our proposed work is extend the HLS based FPGA implantation to the onboard classification system in remote sensing. The experimental results for selected data set from different class shows that our architecture on Zynq 7000 implementation generates a delay of 11.26 μs and power consumption of 1.7 Watts, which is extremely better as compared to other Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation using Hardware description Language (HDL) and Central Processing Unit (CPU) implementation.

Opis:: Advancement in medical technology creates some issues related to data transmission as well as storage. In real-time processing, it is too tedious to limit the flow of data as it may reduce the meaningful information too. So, an efficient technique is required to compress the data. This problem arises in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), and other medical signal processing domains. In this paper, we demonstrate Block Sparse Bayesian Learning (BSBL) based compressive sensing technique on an Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal. The efficiency of the algorithm is described using the Mean Square Error (MSE) and Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM) value. Apart from this analysis we also use different combinations of sensing matrices too, to demonstrate the effect of sensing matrices on MSE and SSIM value. And here we got that the exponential and chi-square random matrices as a sensing matrix are showing a significant change in the value of MSE and SSIM. So, in real-time body sensor networks, this scheme will contribute a significant reduction in power requirement due to its data compression ability as well as it will reduce the cost and the size of the device used for real-time monitoring.

Tytuł:: Układ filtra cyfrowego z multipleksowaniem w czasie

Opis:: The purpose of this thesis is to introduce to digital signal processing techniques and to present original designs of finite impulse response filter, decimator and interpolator, all of which were created using time multiplexing technique. Moreover, the implementation of the design on FPGA as a part of filtering system based on Red Pitaya platform is presented. The implementation was proven to be working with the maximum multiplexing order of 128. In the thesis a method of sampling rate conversion is discussed that enables narrowing filtering band while increasing filtering efficiency. Correct operation of filtering system was tested both on the level of digital calculations correctness on FPGA and the overall filtering system efficiency. For system configuration with time multiplexing order value of 125 there was obtained a filter with the maximum amount of 4875 coefficients working in the band of 0,5 MHz width. This results in transition band width of 0.5 kHz.
Celem niniejszej pracy jest wprowadzenie do technik przetwarzania sygnałów cyfrowych oraz prezentacja autorskich projektów filtra o skończonej odpowiedzi impulsowej (ang. finite impulse response -- FIR), decymatora oraz interpolatora z wykorzystaniem techniki multipleksowania w czasie. W pracy przedstawiona została również implementacja projektów na układzie FPGA w ramach systemu filtrującego zrealizowanego na platformie Red Pitaya. Otrzymane zostały sprawne filtry z rzędem multipleksowania w czasie o maksymalnej wartości 128. Zaprezentowana została również metoda wykorzystująca konwersję częstotliwości próbkowania, która pozwala na zwężenie pasma filtrowania sygnałów, tym samym zwiększając wydajność filtracji. Metoda ta w szczególności znacząco zwiększa wydajność filtracji sygnałów o wąskim spektrum wysokiej częstotliwości. Działanie systemu filtrującego zostało sprawdzone zarówno na poziomie poprawności obliczeń cyfrowych na układzie FPGA, jak i ogólnej wydajności systemu filtrującego poprzez pomiary odwzorowania funkcji transferu w wybranych konfiguracjach systemu. Dla przykładowej konfiguracji o rzędzie multipleksowania równym 125 otrzymany został filtr o maksymalnej liczbie 4875 współczynników działający w paśmie o szerokości 0,5 MHz, co przekłada się na szerokość przejścia z pasma przepustowego do zaporowego ok. 0,5 kHz.
