Opis:
The first part of this paper introduces the concept of digital humanities and the phases that some researchers note in the development of the humanities in new, digital media, as well as the role of digital humanities in the promotion of the marginalised literatures, particularly that written by women. The core example is the digital database Knjiženstvo, certain segments of which contain not only the data on the texts, but the digitised texts as well. In this paper, we pose the question on how databases can be involved in the creation of new knowledge at all educational levels. To this effect, we necessarily expand certain segments of the database to include those publications on which they already contain information. In relation to this, it has been observed that one of the greatest problems is the part of the database dealing with the periodicals – both women and feminist – and therefore, the second part of the paper is dedicated to this topic. We first analyze the terms women and feminist magazines, and afterwards, we consider the ways in which the materials from these periodicals could be gathered, classified and connected.

Digital libraries in Poland in the light of european discussion about digitisation of values of culture
Autorzy:
Safian, Paulina
Opis:
Szczegółowemu omówieniu zostaje poddane oprogramowanie dLibra - pierwszy polski system do budowy bibliotek cyfrowych.
This paper outlines the issues focused on digital libraries in Poland and the activities of international organizations that support initiatives related to digitization, with particular emphasis on the Commission's work in this area. At the very beginning the most important projects are presented and the EU Directive on the subject as well as the work of the European Commission of Preservation and Access, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions and UNESCO in the field of digitization.Second part of the work discussed about the history of digital libraries in Poland. More attention is given to the three most important aspects, according to the author's initiatives, related to the digitization of library collections in Poland. The first is the National Digital Library Polona - who has the function of the supervisory authority to work digitalisation in Poland. Another initiative highlighted by the author is the Digital Library of Wielkopolska - the first Polish digital libraries, which they found based on the dLibra system. The last of the widely discussed initiatives is the Federation of Polish Libraries, whose main task is to coordinate digitization initiatives scattered throughout the country.Next chapter scrutinise the technical standards used in digital libraries (popular file extensions, common software and directory structure). Detailed discussion is subject to the dLibra software - the first Polish system for building digital libraries.Last but not the least of chapters is focused on justify of legal issues associated with the operation of digital libraries. Lists the legal acts (national and international) governing the status of digital libraries.

Opis:
The authors underlie the qualitative and quantitative importance of agriculture and the agro-industrial sector in the Spanish economy analysed in the light of existing legal regulations and claim that a further development of the agricultural sector will only be possible when new information technologies and the Internet are implemented. Their application is one of the main challenges for the agro-industrial sector in the near future. These challenges justify posing questions about legal regulations on issues such as the ownership and storage of data that relate to the application of new technologies, access to, transfer and circulation of these data, the exchange of data through Internet platforms and the control over these platforms, the responsibility thereof, forms of doing business in the context of the application of new technologies, or, as seems to be the most important, cyber-security.

Opis:
In the era of digitisation, the role of remote work is growing. The digitisation of work has brought new opportunities and threats to the economic function of labour. This function, pointing to the fundamental role of employment, which is to provide added value for the employer and remuneration for the employee, has acquired a new meaning. Therefore, in the era of digitisation, it seems justified to assess the impact of remote work on labour productivity (in terms of organizational factors, cost factors and work quality). The subject of the study is to analyse the productivity factors of remote work (based on work performed under permanent and short-term employment, including various work models and irregular work patterns). The main objective of the research is to identify factors determining perceived productivity of individual workers who perform their job remotely and to measure the importance of factors determining labour productivity. The methodology used in the study is based on the analysis of the literature and conclusions drawn from a survey conducted in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary (a total sample of 450 units). Logistic regression and the k-means method were used in the statistical analysis. They allow measuring the relationship between the strength of a stimulus represented by the percentage of cases showing a specific response on how productivity is verified by the stimulus. Moreover, they bring the possibility to group factors in clusters representing workers with different sets of productivity factors. Results show that across the study sample, high stress, low employee control, and limited communication with managers minimise the growth of remote work productivity, since social relationships at work are correlated with productivity. Nonetheless, work organisation traits such as proper work environment, travel cost savings, technical assistance access, and a fast Internet connection remain positively related to remote work productivity.

Digitisation and sharing of collections : museum practices and copyright during the COVID-19 pandemic
Autorzy:
Klinowski, Mateusz
Szafarowicz, Karolina
Opis:
This article concerns the conflict between copyright and museums’ digitisation and online sharing of collections. This issue has recently become particularly important in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors outline the concept of a virtual museum and present the most important copyright provisions in EU law that may create obstacles for cultural institutions in realising virtual counterparts. To perceive copyright as the main obstacle in the process of digitisation and online sharing of collections is not unusual. Hence, the article briefly presents legal framework of the European copyright applicable to such situations. The authors argue that although copyright offers a range of possibilities for museums interested in digitising their collections, at the same time it is responsible for a chilling effect, resulting in fear of potential infringement and liability. The authors conclude that the EU’s development of new legislation, coinciding with the need for digitisation and online sharing of cultural heritage caused by the pandemic, has favoured public interest at the expense of creators’ rights, but still lacks satisfactory legal tools for effectively allowing cultural institutions to digitise and share their collections.

Growing virtualisation of the value chain appears to be an expression of implementation of ICT solutions in international business represented by TNCs. This creates new opportunities for cooperation within the value chain and its composition. The growing importance in this area can be attributed to companies integrating the value chain, known as plug and play. Their integration into the value creation chain gives a new dimension to TNCs’ strategic choices from the fragmentation of activity and its integration on an international scale point of view.

Technical diagnostics is an integral part of the railway maintenance process. Through timely maintenance, in addition to ensuring the safety, functional and technical reliability of the infrastructure, maintenance costs are reduced and downtime losses, due to failures or premature repair requests, are eliminated or reduced. The track infrastructure diagnostic tools have evolved. This is related to, among others, the miniaturisation of instruments, reading accuracy during motion, as well as upgraded measurement automation and result analysis. Currently, data obtained from multifunctional diagnostic tools is the basis for the developed Russian railway infrastructure maintenance and operation digital model. The strategic development of mobile diagnostic labs is the gradual transition to solutions with advanced digital analysis, supported by artificial intelligence, monitoring and forecasting. The article presents the development of mobile labs for the railroad infrastructure condition diagnosis up to the current solutions, in which measurements take place without human intervention and the obtained information is transmitted in real time to the analysis and decision centres.
